Best Social Media Poems
It's something inconclusive
This feeling that I'm not
A perfect human specimen
Lukewarm compared to hot
I scrutinise the mirror
That I carry in my phone
It tells me of belonging
Yet I feel so far from home
I probably need rebuilding
Like a human Lego set
A different type of perfect
Is the answer I detect
A voice within me cries out
Don't change a single part
I love you as imperfect
'Cos you're perfect for my heart
Let's work on your perspective
Stand right here just next to me
Now tell yourself through my eyes
Not more perfect could you be
A Dark Reflection
We are all hunters masked by Usernames and Handles
We capture the moments that eventually become rambles,
In our history of past and prehistoric posts that puncture
We yearn for likes and loves this desperate hunger,
Snap, Send, Screenshot,
Snap, Screenshot, Send,
We Filter others criticism and replace with illusions
Of the authenticity for that is pure delusion,
We change too much for others and our minds have altered
Our lack of consistency has been far too relevant,
Repost, Retweet, Republish,
Retweet, Republish, Repost,
The fragment of life caught in a picture is like a pet
We use it for laughter and love our needs are completely met,
We conceive Stories made of hopeful bliss
Alone we are sucked of joy like a dementors kiss,
Unfollow, Unfriend, Block,
Unfriend, Unfollow, Block,
We streak the social media universe with Hashtags and Vines
Our time deteriorates forever declined,
Although these platforms offer sorrows that are deadly
They also bring joy in a harmonious medley,
Look, Like, Love,
Like, Love, Look,
It connects through light boxes around the earth
Showing us an unimaginable worth,
It links us through the vast and titanic interwebs
It brings light and sight while dejection ebbs,
Friend, Follow, Forget
Friend, Follow, Forget
We fathom the magnitude of what it means to be a friend
We never meet we never eat we just like to play pretend,
Will it ever end
Missing links and broken ties our normal obstruction
Movie dates and walks in the park will help our construction,
We can build a better Story.
Don’t!
Don’t put your thoughts on paper
Don’t dare to think out loud
Don’t express on social media
Don’t put them up in cloud
Don’t criticize the useless
Don’t voice a point of view
Don’t flex your vocal cord
Don’t think you’re immune
Six burly officers are coming
Because of something you said
They crash the door early morning
And they’ll tear you from your bed
They’ll whisk you down the bridewell
Slam you in a six foot by eight
The CID will make you confess
About all the things that you hate
You can shop lift for a past time
Carry a machete along the road
Threaten cut all white throats
And never do as your told
Keep your gob shut firm and tight
Take the pen and put it down
Don’t tweet early morn or late night
Decent is only for a clown.

Every day I go on Facebook to check on my wall, I just stare and wonder if I even know you people at all.
I go on Twitter to tweet a tweet, then on Instagram to share a random picture of my feet.
I post just about the most ridiculous things, including what I wear and what I eat.
I can't stand my page being blank and white, so I come up with a funny story, whenever I can't think of anything else to write.
If I'm really bored I might check out someone else's page instead, to post a rude comment about something they said.
I don't hang out with a lot of friends, but according to the internet, I have over a hundred and ten!
This is everyone's routine day by day, as we check posts, and secretly call each other names as we pass in the hallway.
We no longer have genuine compassion; instead we get straight to the point, something I like to call bashing.
We think it's normal to yell "Amy's having a baby and Mark is going crazy!"
Texting is another great hobby, I just got a message calling Amy a ****, and Mark's girlfriend a complete nut.
We call this our way to connect, but society is turning into a wreck.
Social media helps us to keep in touch, but I think it's the reason we haven't slept much.
Sometimes I stay on my phone till 4 in the morning, but who needs sleep anyways?
That’s boring!
The internet is such a time consumer.
Its fast pace has even caught up to the late bloomers.
I think I’m going crazy; I can hardly go a day.
I wonder if other people are this way.
It’s such a distraction while I’m supposed to be doing homework.
But keeping up with all these statuses is already enough work.
You can find EVERYONE on Facebook!
From aunts to uncles and about a million girls named Brook.
Some people write about the most interesting things,
Including their relationships which have no strings.
Reminds me of Anita,
So easy to please, seems charming and wise, but easy for all the guys.
Meanwhile, Sammy is bullied until she sits there and cries.
Our eyes are glued to the screens that only causes affliction,
Welcome to social media, the world's latest greatest addiction.
So many beautiful people online, but is social media love real?
Are you in love with the idea or is it genuinely how you feel?
can you have feelings of love for someone you've never met?
or are you just lonely in real life and treasuring any form of contact from people on the Internet?
We all have crushes and I'm not saying you shouldn't shoot your shot
But I've seen some people start to lose the plot
I've seen it happen to guys where they go insane because the girl doesn't reply to their message
There are millions of other girls out there, are you really that desperate?
You may speak daily, but always remember it's someone you haven't met in person
are they being themselves? or a different version?
Do you love the person behind the photograph,or just that one picture?
Are you allowing your world to shrink just for your Internet following to grow bigger?
Personally to me something just doesn't feel right
When people prefer looking good on social media instead of living their real life
they ignore their own friends and start to ignore their own crowd
People in relationships don't communicate anymore because they won't put their phone down
I'd rather have a drink with friends or put on a comedy for us to laugh at
But it's difficult when they won't come off Instagram, Twitter or Snapchat
I guess this is just the world we live in
I don't hate it, I just wish it was a little different
I wish these sites had a time limit for how many hours you can use it a day
For a few hours people should learn to put their phones away
Some will strongly disagree with how I feel
But I'd like to say that Addiction to social media is real
Hash tag Mary Jane
The hackers just stole your name.
They know the name of your favorite pet.
The street you were born.
How your parents met.
Hash tag Mary Jane
You threw a bash but no one came.
Surrounded by friends in an empty room.
Dancing in a haloed blue haze swoon.
Computer overheating from overuse.
No one there to judge.
Hash tag Mary Jane
It's happening all over again.
This time they're using your credit cards.
Thieves in your business in your back yard.
How you gonna pay the rent.
Cops cannot put a face with a name
Identity theft now that's a shame
Who can you rely on now.
Hash tag Mary Jane
The booze can't ease the pain
You convince yourself that you're in control
But Alice won't let you down her rabbit hole.
Still late for that fictitious date.
Hash Tag Mary Jane
I think you might be going insane.
The phone's unplugged
Your cell's on mute
No sense in pining for misspent youth.
The pills in the drawer look mighty appealing.
One man's floor is another man's ceiling.
Can't seem to find the door.
Hash tag Mary Jane.
They held a funeral but no one came.
A blank screen of death for your headstone.
The final dance, you danced alone.
Slowly fade to black.
For lack of attention
And lack of invention
They couldn't help it
Now we can't stop it
With mustered pretention
Living in the keyhole
The pretty lies are sold
Women of appetite eat
Cannibal spawn tweet
As our credits roll
Just out of light
In the shadow of right
Men counterfeit valor
Then duck and cower
Lacking a will to fight
Fast forward life time
Wonder past its prime
Cut and paste history
To create a mystery
Of victimless crime
Remember what to say
Regurgitate yesterday
We salted the earth
And lost its worth
We lost our way
Alone in the corner
The facts adorn her
Through rise and fall
Truth awaits us all
As we learn her cure
Folly laughing loud
The trashy and proud
Can't see it there
Behind the despair
Death with its crowd
I don't want to hear,
I don't want to know.
Your life is a Soap Opera,
like a T.V. show.
Your life is a mess.
I can read the signs
but I have trouble keeping track
of my own plot lines.
No one's life runs smooth.
We all have our issues.
I needn't hear yours
to bring out the tissues.
You have social media
to vent your frustrations,
your ups and your downs,
tragedy and elations.
I have my own stuff
to deal with your know.
I just choose not to put it
out there like a show.
So I wish you the best,
I wish you well
but those passive aggressive statuses
can just go to hell.

Have we opened up Pandora's
box
That we can't now seem to
close
Secrets don't stay on the block
The price of progress I suppose
We have become a world of
voyeurs
Engrossed in other peoples
dreams
Debutantes celebutaunts
posers
Athletes, actors and queens.
Enemies, frenemies bffs
Who crave the madding crowd
Who appear to live with no
regrets
Except no negative vibes
allowed.
Revealing my nakedness
Showing everyone my business
Somehow I'm still faceless
Like a book with blank pages
Might as well be talking from my anus
Hey miss!
I think you dropped this
She don't bother with lowlifes
Because she's socially famous
I should've just stayed secluded
In all my rhyming strangeness
Pay no mind to man behind the curtain.
You've learned the superficial but his depths are still uncertain.
You tried to plot his course and see that death is lurking.
Look into his eye and you'll see the drugs are working.
It's the sad sad tale of the promise land.
Where you calculate your worth with a cyber hand.
Where you're notified daily that no one understands.
With modern civil rights as false as facebook friends.
They say "We've got to come together; gotta make this right!"
Fat chance of that happening unless you pass that pipe.
On this bureaucratic farm with it's produce ripe.
They cultivate the origins of your foresight.
Playing on your misery as if it were delight.
Still you are convinced you're in a fair fight....
Just because I can
Don't mean I should
Or is any good
Is of little use
Or burdon of proof
Leading to a headline breaking top story
On the News at 10
But then again
So aren't the indulgences
Of what passes for news
On the day to day
All consuming want for gossip
That prepositions truth is boring
And the only thing worthy of reporting
Is if another anonymous insignificant reality star
Is planning a fake marriage
Or pregnancy number 5 with spouse number 6
And the Facebook's clicks
Or Twitter followers
With lives so empty
They read while driving
Because nothing is more important
Than sharing senselessness tat
That if we readed back in the cold light of day
Would make anyone have a good long rethink
About the direction life has taken
If this is how one is to spend time
Rather join a convent or a cult
At least they have a point
Because to be both frank and blunt
Wasting time being a sheepish runt
On Social Media
Is about as fulfilling
As salad on an carnivorous diet
Don't buy it
Don't try it
And just maybe it will go away
And reality will forgive us and come back
I torture myself
Your page on speed dial
If speed dial were still
A thing
Lol
Her page more perused
Stroked, if you will
Than even yours
I hate her face
Again
And again
Smdh
Refresh
Still nothing
Must be something
No one takes pictures of
Omg

Screw Facebook
Theres a place called Facebook
out in cyber space
Where you must have really thick skin
but you need no face
People take your words
and twist them all asunder
Spitting comments back at you
that really make you wonder
You never meant to anger
but it seems that you still do
I guess it all really depends
on how they see your views
They can take your words personal
though they aren't meant to be
Then blow all up about
the things they think they see
But when you try to tell them
they took your words all wrong
Some continue making comments
singing the same old song
Tone of voice and body language
are vacant in this place
We are all just typing words
out into cyberspace
Too many times misunderstood
can really make me crazy
But I won't change every word I write
I guess I'm much too lazy
I don't need all the drama
that seems to gather in this place
I much prefer to spend my time
talking face to face.
What happen to the days when we would go outside to play
Being stuck behind a phone screen is what we now do these days
Caught up in all these social media trends
A couple thousand followers
But which ones are your friends
Exstistence has changed a lot
And our smart phones are the sin
Can't even have a conversation
Without looking on Facebook to check in
But what can you really say to people behind a screen
Social media has us hooked
And we're to blind to see
How were being bought by the smart phone industry
Just go outside and look around
You won't find many without there heads down
Because we're so caught up in the moment
Of what's happening online
That the person your ment to be with just passed by
You will never know how that first date feels
The first year of marriage eating burnt meals
The way she looks when she holds your son
The arguments when you say your done
Then later kiss and make up and have some fun
To the moment when your holding her hand on her death bed
And thinking of all the things you could have said
But you didn't because you were on Facebook instead
If we could just only take a minute to go out in the world and have a conversation face to face
You will be surprised at how little effort it takes
Nothing gets accomplished by being on our phones
This world is be turned into social media drones
So turn off your phones, laptops, and iPads
And show the world how you can raise above that
Because you deserve to know how special you really are
And nobody can tell you that on social media anyhow
So don't let the social media industry define your tune
Go out into the world and let the real things inspire you
