Who am I now this lonely man bent to the point of break, wishing to share his soul yet existing in hallow void of loneliness and dark realization none are found who would receive it.
Set aside for the busier matters of others lives I struggle in my search for that peaceful joy I once knew in the refuge of loving arms and shared dreams of purpose,,,,,,, now I exist in bleak solitude with full understanding my assigned place is on the sidelines of life- serving the needs and desires of others

why do we fuss as we die
where a germ started from
the job of the president was to stop it
from getting here
spreading out and killing us

does a president after a rocket attack
sit on the sideline
watching its markings close up and
pointing out that the rocket came from
a lab or factory in an unfriendly country
as we are laid out

Wearing the silver and blue

Lone stars with loyal honesty that is true

Inviting those dressed in burgundy and yellow

With the mission ‘keep the politicians mellow’

For a Thanksgiving meal

Where the division standings are the big deal

Due to a tie

Eagles at day's end will say goodbye

To first place

Until Monday when brotherly love builds its case

Against the hawks

Underdogs right now by those who use chalk

But after the holiday dinner

Who will be watching this match for a winner?

Just a close game

With the feds having no name

But there is another reason

Why this gridiron duel is pleasing

A nice electric shot

Of the cover model advertising spot

Famed crowd friendly supportive group

Cheering in an attractive uniform suit

Having a certain look

Luring using their physical image like a fishing hook

Guys no longer asking, ‘can she cook?’

These stimulating flashing lights

From the squad protecting their knights

May stop festive fights

Or wake up someone who momentary may not be all right

Since the beast who is calm

After diffusing his egotistical bomb

Still has a mind

And the time

To be thankful and kind

All due to the high kicking line

Or numerous glasses of wine

Win or lose

It is hard to refuse

A football team playing the boys

While helping kids write to the North Pole for new toys

Sideline

I've always wondered as I got older why we sit on the sideline. While some are better than others Loved more. Memories have to last a lifetime, never showing my true feelings as life continues. Here comes the sadness of life's time coming to an end. I'm lost as it's tearing apart inside,e, wondering why what happened, ed, why my sister and I, what makes us so different. Yet we stand close enough to hear him breathing, touch him as if it is our last time talking to him. Does he feel us there, Or are we bound to the sideline of life?

What
are we all
doing here
on the sideline

damaged
needing repair
in a lineup
getting processed
waiting for a tuneup

our turn thru the puppy mill
longing to rush back
pick up the pace
speed spinning
our hamster wheel
