Sitting On the Sideline

why do we fuss as we die 
where a germ started from  
the job of the president was to stop it 
from getting here
spreading out and killing us 

does a president after a rocket attack
sit on the sideline
watching its markings close up and   
pointing out that the rocket came from 
a lab or factory in an unfriendly country 
as we are laid out
