"Untwisting all the chains that tie the hidden soul ..."

there is no roadmap for the ...
voyage to my soul ... to find my authentic self
the spiritual part of me needs to converse
and soul is waiting behind this world
I seek my
spirit, heart, essence, core (my soul)
~ enlightenment is a pebble in the gloom,
a fragile seed, a lone prayer to the vast darkness of
passages and contrived corridors in my mind ~
so I fall into deep quietude
where I can communion with my higher mind asking
who am I meant to be, what is my purpose, who should I be
I hunger in the silence ... for an answer
~ life is a stage, a fiddler and I, a lone dancer,
where words in garish colors float and crash
with withered memories
in the dripping grey forest of my mind ~
perhaps God is the divine source
to my life, my feelings, values, thoughts
Oh, I am lost in a shoreless sea
where my soul is disembodied, a separate thing
(some think it even survives death)
I have many scars on my roadmap ...
I ponder ... life can be a fairytale ... or a ravaged garden
it is a "choice" to make ... by self
~ I hear a quiet voice clear as dripping rain
and my life stretches before me like an open road
where old ways sail away in ships ... like sleeping swans
.... and wisdom is the jewel I have found in ~
"the ragged meadow of my soul"

This night a yellow moon
stalks root and branch.
There’s a waving sagebrush breeze
to twitch wary whiskers
The star salted fields
and dark wooded islands
merge in a wash
of shoaling shadows.
Fox and rabbit are awake;
they sniff or tremble,
yet celebrate each warm breath.
This night plants flames
in covered eyes,
and we feel the high
dangerous joy
of all that hunt and hide.
This night a yellow moon
stalks root and branch.
There’s a waving sagebrush breeze
to twitch wary whiskers
The star-salted fields
and dark wooded islands
merge in a wash
of shoaling shadows.
Fox and rabbit are awake;
they sniff or tremble,
yet celebrate each warm breath.
This night plants flames
in covered eyes,
and we feel the high
dangerous joy
of all that hunt and hide.
