It’s only the good that die young.
I sadly have found it seems true.
While evil across earth is flung,
God’s purest of souls are too few.

I sadly have found it seems true
the wicked live long past their prime.
God’s purest of souls are too few.
On earth they live but a short time.

The wicked live long past their prime.
The goodly to heaven do go.
On earth they live but a short time.
The sun shines on the righteous though!

The goodly to heaven do go,
while evil across earth is flung.
The sun shines on the righteous. . . though
It’s only the good that die young!

When the Universe Shines

Silvery silhouettes shine from the moon
On this hallowed night amidst urban glow.
Moments like this always fading so soon
When east meets west and our energies flow.

Watching the stars touch the blackness behind,
We discover the universe above,
As its light penetrates deep in our minds,
So do our hearts open up to its love.

The mysteries of the heavens we see.
The purity of the light from the sky,
The universe shines for you and me
With peace and quiet love for you and I.

In my west starlight shines down on the earth
While in your east sunlight starts a rebirth.

Premium Member Nothing shines endlessly

Do not fall in love with people like me. I will take you to museums, and parks, and monuments, and kiss you in every beautiful place, so that you can never go back to them without tasting me like blood in your mouth. I will destroy you in the most beautiful way possible. And when I leave, you will finally understand, why storms are named after people. Caitlyn Siehl

In this episode of suppression,
I refuse to speak, as you know
words could flow in sorrows.

But a melancholic mind
is the nemesis of a poet.
Forcing fingers to bleed
raindrop tears into ink,
where metaphors are an adversary
and you don't need to confess
that there are no more verses
that can be called sacred
when crimson waterfalls flow in veins,
so, I curse my merciless muse,
which ignores the heart's plea

..... yet, I wonder if there can be love without poetry.

Once, when my garden nourished snowdrops,
upon the arrival of robins in spring,
I was your golden orb,
but you no longer bask in my glory
and impatient crows follow my footsteps.
Now that you've bloomed,
it feels as though my purpose
has been abruptly stolen.
I curse those premeditated prophecies,
spoken from an omniscient tongue,
so I wander like Cupid without arrows,
mute like a flutist without a flute.
Hoping to sleep forever in an asylum
of wildflowers you have left behind.

Upon the return of silence,
I'm no longer the thorns upon your rose stalk.
Once strong branches reveal empty nests,
as my roots become exposed over cold earth.
covered with autumn leaves -
I feel their anguish as the breeze
scatters them under oblivious feet.

You were forbidden,
but I was not the only sinner.
Never powerful enough to
become the ringmaster in your circus -
I hope you never tame.

I'm trapped within an aura,
resembling cremated affirmations -
yet, I know my spirit will ignite again.

I remember when you
only saw the moon,
so I paraded for you
a galaxy of stars.
But just like planktons
on a beach - nothing shines endlessly.

Premium Member Sun always shines

Have you ever seen a star crying?, they are just bright.
Have you ever seen a dark rainbow?, they are full of colour.
Have you ever seen a night without its day?, no possible way.
Have you ever seen a storm with no end?, never was seen.
Everything has a start with its end. Nothing lasts forever.
Even the darkest storms have a sun always shining above them and beyond of what we just believe.

Premium Member Today Shines Bright

Today, I count my many blessings
as today is a great new day and
I am filled with the kind of joy
a great nights sleep affords
a tired, worn thin, insomniac.
I finally slept for hours and awoke
feeling all is right and we will survive.

From my sunny balcony I leaned
over the parapet to observe my
flower garden growing peacefully
without a care of the chaos in
this world as fears are closing in.
We must not give in to those fears.
I promise to merge with my flowers
and let the day bring what it will.

My heart is full and is singing with
the Angels that are surrounding us.
Today, I count my many blessings.
Today is a great new faith filled day
and I am filled with His eternal joy
knowing this pandemic will soon be
a sad memory we will remember as
the world fighting it as ONE people.

When Red Sunset, Shines Its Brightest Inspiring Lights

When morning glories glow, your closed heart opens again
dawn's breaking light shows, a true faithful, loyal friend;
can you then cleanse the hate from your embittered eyes
open hard closed ears to hear this heart's saddest cries?
Recall our friendship, and cherished years we both knew,
remember we fought this dark world, just me and you!

When red sunset, shines its brightest inspiring lights
you feel that cool night's soft breeze, forget our big fights;
see a future when we can dance under new stars
forget the hard times, those bitterest of our scars!
Hold to sworn vows, that united once tender souls,
take a chance, toss the dice, see how it all rolls!

If this poem sent, with its sadden heartfelt plea
can repair the great damage, heal both you and me;
send back this letter sealed with a red lipstick kiss
write pretty love words, the ones that I dearly miss!
Please meet me there at our favorite lakeside spot,
sweet darling, give this broken man another shot!

Recall our friendship, and cherished years we both knew,
remember we fought this dark world, just me and you!
Hold to sworn vows, that united once tender souls,
take a chance, toss the dice see how it all rolls.
Meet me Friday at our favorite lakeside spot,
sweet darling, give this broken man another shot!

Rhyme, ( The Letter Sent)
Edited version of a poem written over 42 years ago.
Although heart-sent and truly felt, there was no reuniting and love thus reborn, however life did march ever onward and the torn, worn, weary and broken heart was not swiftly healed. Yet time eventually did heal it...

Premium Member When Light Shines

It echoes dull dawn past a long evening.
Dusk is being thawed off like flowering.
Your aegis bore the road to the doorway.
A soft tune for a crucial sweep of sway,

High, grim oaks form a tone of masterwork.
All around, snow-cloaked raw act like a stork,
Much frost lingers baffled to the twigs' arms.
Glancing all around, watching over barns!

Like a butterfly fetching my glamour,
Your love drew my wings, a kiss of amour.
Like a child was wiping my tears, says no.
Your grin, an easing-up pole for rainbow,

All, out of this apex, to the prime peak
From ice orb to the vast sky, it's all leak.
But clear than a gismo, that hits my sight!
Dazzling had to mix magic and heal plight.

Everything you own is what you have loved.
Get relieved of your ego and think roved.
Nothing huge was ever done without zeal.
Love, be grateful and assist others heal.

The Sun Shines On the Righteous

The sun shines on the righteous,
But on the unrighteous too.
So those who aren’t aware yet,
Can know that they are loved too.

The righteous are not perfect,
Hence, they do make mistakes.
However, they love their fiends
To spur their hearts to remake.

Their model is the loving God,
Who gives us all the rain,
The moon, the stars and yes the Son,
So happy all remain.

The righteous are not quick to judge,
They wish to shine their light,
On those who are the victims
Of the dark world and its might.

To all, the glorious trumpet sounds
Announcing God’s Goodwill,
Who accepts us sinners if we repent,
And begin to do His will.

Premium Member A New Star Shines Above Hawaii

On this warm and clear tropical night,
a new star in heaven shines its light.
It rises high above Hawaii,
over the palm trees for all to see.
On the beaches, the waves crash around.
Listen carefully, there’s a new sound.
It’s an old familiar melody.
Sweet notes played on a ukulele
joined by a voice so smooth and mellow,
it’s a wonderful tune we all know.
From this small island of Oahu,
a fine native son has bid adieu.
He has left this Pacific playground.
With God’s big band, he can now be found.

As Midnight Moon Shines Upon Her Eyes

In a dream world where fantasies abound
shall be where my princess is found
Wrapped in her vision an angelic choir
cherubs singing her heart's desire

Her voice soothes every hearing soul
spreading happiness her daily goal
As midnight moon shines upon her eyes
a thought comes to me so very wise

Surely she could come to me down here
easing my hurt, wash away my fear
A soft gentle touch to my spirit renew
help me find a love any man is due

In a dream world such fantasies exist
your heart's desire, anything on your list

Note, 1/27/2015 - Modern sonnet, written when my soul was lost
and seeking the path back into happiness, back into a world devoid of misery, heartache and pain.
That night I bowed my head and asked for help. Best decision I ever made.
For in faith I had then put my trust , over that of my foolish vanity and insufferable pride!
Now looking back, I see the answer came ever so swiftly..
This poem comes from my "private collection" (intended for my children) after my demise and
is now presented for the first time for others to read..
That night I dreamed of a dark hair angel that came to me and helped me return to the world of the living.
Thats her in my picture given here. My wife now of ten beautiful and happy years!
Bountiful extra blessing of a beautiful son we now share !

Truth, Shines Ever So Brightly

I was once wrapped it teeth and thick fur
ferocious and ghastly beast was me.
I was a bad dog, a wicked little cur
whipping and snapping at every small flea.

One day, the sun burnt my covering hide
and exposed my hideous skin to see.
Such truth, this heart could not abide
stung me ever so sharply like a bee.

Now comes time to hold less as much more
walk a different path free and alone.
Yes, light filtered through that sad door
where my greatest folly was then shown.

I was once wrapped in thick, shiny scales
Now a deep truth destroys those tall tales.

                                    Light Shines In Total Darkness

A moment in time where love should leave
                           when incompatibility muddy crystal waters
dissolves a tie that binds divine connection
widens the abyss as dream loudly shatters

Down on my knees I begged for a reprieve
gazes polarizing for to her nothing matters
in locked cages lay vestiges of desperation
intimacy now in tatters mutated to cinders

Aged moon will not commiserate then give
nebulous promises to stop onrushing tears
nor rays to light the path toward contrition
and turtle doves waving wings that glitters

Weary eyes reaching for salvation perceive
apparitions raising me up to alleviate fears
cleansing this heart throbbing in exultation
as grass springs anew...while grief withers.

The morality of justice
     is the light of righteousness.
     Its virtue rises not
     from concern or faith alone
but is driven by the needs
     and love for others
and to act with compelling deeds.
It is a God given attribute.
To do right is to be righteous.
     On that imperative,
     the sun will always rise
     on that which is honorable
     to the heart of God.
     The righteous are bathed
in the brightness of its dawn
     and reside in the sanctity
     of that divine peace...

The sun shines on the righteous
Yet it still shines on those who sin
It could guide them on the right path
And a better way of life will soon begin

God’s continual light is like a beacon
It shines throughout our entire life
Endeavour to retain a strong faith
It can see you through times of strife

On My Horizon Where Shines Your Light - a Collaboration With Michael P Clarke

On my Horizon Where Shines Your Light -
A Collaboration with Michael P. Clarke (Vladislav Raven)

Oh my beloved, your dark eyes enthrall,
on my horizon, your Latina heart does call.
Your beauty shining, ever out of my reach,
longing is the lesson that love does teach.
As my heart does sing your love's own dear song,
smiling in beauty, your heart does belong,
within the chambers of my heart of light,
love shines on my horizon, where shines your light.

I hope you know, my heart always sings for you,
in the tranquil dawn, adorned with morning dew.
Take me in your arms for that’s where I belong;
listen to my heartbeat ... listen to my song.
Open your soul to this rhapsody of sweet delight;
with passionate kisses under a soft halo of moonlight.
My beloved, I embrace you in the throes of lucid dreams,
where love shines on my horizon like trillions of cosmic beams.

A symphony of love's ocean shall enter our souls;
we dance in love's light as we touch passion's goals.
Beloved, your love does smile over the miles;
you are the angel who ever beguiles.
Oh Latina beauty your home is in my arms,
within love's perception show me Latin charms.
Temple caresses temple within joy's delight,
on my horizon, where shines your light.

Nourished by our love, like roses we bloom,
unfurling petals, exuding fragrant perfume.
The intensity of your essence has captured my heart;
I have loved you, my darling, from the start.
The flame of love's light burns constant and sublime,
as our hearts fill with ecstasy across space and time .
Soul to soul, we take flight on this starry night;
love shines on our horizon, where shines our light.
