Best Shakes Poems

Premium Member Relapse

A quake took place
between my shoulder blades
teeth ground to dust behind my face
the scraping of tectonic plates
scared me to my hiding place
bottles and blankets, a child’s space
it cannot withstand the shakes
that are now all too commonplace.

drops and shakes

Rain begins like
glass, foreshadow
someone in the window
pane screech

like chalk,
leaves on the
sidewalk, her stepped
on, stepped through
poetry —

birdsong chérie
survival of femininity
even loose wing's
tree love kind —
she said

limbs without fingers
tear at the stitches
in my eyes —
clinging, wet

Premium Member Trixie Shakes Me Awake

Trixie, my poetic muse, shakes me awake.
The clock says 2:59 or 3:01,
A.M., the witching hour.
The ending of a poem filters through the air.

Did I hear the last two lines or only the last line?
Inspired to capture what my mind has worked on
during my slumber.

I pick up a pen and a pad, but drop them again.
Because I have to go to the bathroom.
While I am in there I repeat three or four of the words
Over and over, so I do not lose them.

The kitchen has a snack waiting.
I need to take a couple of pills too.
I am ready to fully capture and write this poem now.
Six minutes later. I pick up the pen and pad,
Poised and ready to write whatever my dream has imagined.

Trixie is irritated with me. She refuses to give me a single word.
Come on! I argue. You are the one who woke ME up.
After tossing and turning I finally get back to sleep
where Trixie works for hours on a poem I never see.

Sipping Strawberry Shakes

Samantha Sloan is sophisticated and somewhat successful
Surprisingly, she struggles when situations seem stressful
So, she saw a syndrome specialist, Dr. Sabrina Shortcakes.
She simply suggested sipping succulent strawberry shakes.

Samantha found serenity while slurping such syrupy sweets
Surrendering to slumber, she slept on scented silk sheets
Spent all her savings, but she's safe and spiritually secured
sailing the Sea of Serendipity, stress free and self-assured
Soothed by spectacular sunsets, Samantha secretly smiles
Searching for a special someone on sultry South Sea isles.

My Heart Pounds, My Heart Loves, My Heart Shakes

My heart pounds, my heart loves, my heart shakes

When love slept, **May 25th my love awaked

“I love you” could be said in a hundred ways

But me showing you could last a thousand days

If actions speak louder than words

Then the genius of our love is a problem for all the nerds

Your eyes may not lie upon me at all times of your day

But in your heart, permanently and always, I’ll stay

My heart pounds, my heart loves, my heart shakes

No one can see how you saw, like how you love

Or even kiss like you kiss, hug like you hug

You hate camping, but our hearts just went, Oh well!

Snuggling together with a fire hot as hell

Let the moon shine forever with stories to tell

I love you, you love me, and we love each other and the key

Of life and the world to see, your heart stays strong while you’re with me

My heart pounds, my heart loves, my heart shakes

BANG! BANG! POUND! POUND! Loves goes back and forth

If your sunset comes first, I’ll be filled with remorse

Wishing we sat together, (sigh)… but life takes its course

When my heart pounds in need for that extra breath

The cells of your heart recuperate my natural health

My heart vibrates extra hard, so let that organ quake

My heart pounds, loves, all at the same time while this organ shakes.

The Penecostal Shakes

Talking curses speak in tongues.
Enamored in your warmth. Serpent hands are healing.
A Heaven inside your ribs, an orchard in your guts, and honey in your bones.
Salivating for salivation with twitching hooves.
A fever crawls over me like needles of hellfire.
The Pentecostal shakes.

Singing and clapping to the rhythms and convulsions.
The congregations' electric.
Ghost filled meat coffins. Bound by death, Submerged in uncertainty. Unified by the storms. All unclean spirits wrestle in the roots. Giving me the heebe-jeebees. The Penecostal shakes.

Earth Shakes--Thunder Rolls--Jesus Said Father, Forgive Them-For They Not Know What They Do

Out of God's Divine Pure Love
He gave His Only Begotten Son
Whom was the Only One Sinless-Free
Died.. Then Risen Eternally

On that day.. God made a way
As the Earth Shakes.. Thunder Rolls
The Day Of Our Savior
Jesus took Our Place
Upon the Cross..
He did this for All Us
To receive God's Grace

Jesus.. Died on the Cross
His Blood was Shed
Dripping tears of Red
As His Eye lids grew heavy
With Painful-Love upon his face
With His Last Breathe
Last moment.. He takes
Jesus said.. (asking)..
"Father.. Forgive them"
"For they do not know what they do"

He did All this..
Out of Love for Me and You
God Gave His Divine Love
His Son.. Holy.. Pure and True

To.. Save our Souls
For Us to Recieve Forgiveness
Enabling us to become whole
Born-again--Holy and Pure
To Live Eternally
With Him--
Our Savior--Jesus Christ

He took all our Transgressions
He took all our suffering and pain
He took all our sickness and deseases
He took all our humilation and shame
He Did All this for You and Me

What are You going to do???..

Come.. to Jesus.. Believe..
Ask.. Receive... Freely.. God's Divine Love
Born-again.. to Live Eternally with Him
Walk-talk always in Love
Tendersweeet Love & Mercy complete..

Rumors and Cookie Shakes On a Lazy Sunday

people think i am lost in the essence of time
the machine in which i live makes the world change emotive colors
there are some who think that i left my smile in the bed with my personality
i am lost in a space where i sprayed febreze to aerate my comfort zone
then my left hand is observed by all the judges that study me
my left hand begins to twitch, but i remain calm and medicate myself with daydreams
within said daydreams, the beautification of being lost for the purpose of sanity maintenance awakens me
then here i am in this dumper dust reality again
there are those who believe i am invisible amongst the population of time
two cookie shakes later, i am on droopy mode when i simply reply....YOU KNOW WHAT, I'M HAPPY....

The Shakes

A sudden storm
The constant knee shaking is my only warmth
Sweat trickles off my hands
My brain can’t keep up with its own demands

It comes and goes in waves
Kind of like a phase
A phase that sticks around
In an empty room yet still feel surrounded

A sudden case of the shakes
A sudden case of which I can not escape

Everyone asking if I’m okay
If I say no they’ll have nothing to say
“Take a deep breath
I have heard that again and again

31.1% of people suffer from the shakes
48% are self-diagnosed
Almost half of people which suffer from this ghost
This ghost that continues haunting

It’s almost like it’s taunting
Taunting me with what my life could be
The only cure being meditation or medications
I want to be cured from the shakes
But there's almost no way

I can trace shapes on my hand
Until my finger falls asleep
Wow I have fallen deep

I’m hopeless
Hopeless of being cured
I’m tired
Tired of this ghost making me insecure
Tired of trying to unwire
Unwire which has been ruined
Ruined by the shakes

Why do i feel like i'm losing
In the game of existence
I’ve lost all resistance
Of the shakes
Of the ghost
Of the thing that's taken all control

Only so long before this thing
This thing that dominates me
Winds up and breaks me

I'm not anxious I swear
I'm just struggling for air
I'm momentarily unaware

I wish I wasn’t part of the 31.1%
I wish my mind could have been spared
It’s not fair
I’m ripping out my hair
Can I just be repaired

Stay active, have a good diet, practice mindfulness
I’m just gonna stay quiet
I’ll keep denying it
I'll keep it on paper

The Hour Earth Shakes

The Hour Earth Shakes

The earth will shake on its axis
Rustling the bones of the dead
Those who will rise during that hour
Will collect their value as their life is read

Shakespare! More Like Shakes Hands.

What's left to decide in between you and I?
My suitcase is at the front door as I flea the scene
Not hiding but moving on with my life

We haven't been in love for a long time.
Since the day that we locked eyes.
Misery loves company
In this my companion will be perfect with me.

Don't look at that mirror you may see me.
An anthology of melancholy for drama queens
We aren't far from the same
and I don't point fingers

I left you in a box and lost the key
This memory of me will haunt your dreams
For it illuminates the room
and no light shines at the bottom of the sea

As the World Shakes Below

As the world shakes below empty, broken homes
We hold close to use those who stand alone
Draw lines against those who let them go
The winds perish lands from under our feet
Yet we reach out to hands of old and weak
Lips are silenced but their eyes still speak
In the buds of life is the seed of trust
In the midst of evil is passion and lust
Surrender of love is nothing but pain
Memory of vengeance is written in vain
On shadows of my mind lies pure ecstasy
Success is the peace bought within me
Regret is the past almost forgotten to bury

Pen Wakes, Shakes And Casts Its Darkest Long Frown

When faithful pen, releases not its ink
heaven and stars refuse usual blinks
moon dims and lets out moaning mournful cries
poison arrows shoot across wailing skies
Paper cringes in desperate despair,
around weeping edges begins to tear.

At such times, poet's heart fearing such dread
attacks with great zeal complaints in my head
wages war with a soul begging release
while my muse and I ask both to please cease
Pen wakes, shakes and casts its darkest long frown,
cries, "in this circus, you sir, are a clown"!

In this battle, where blood so freely flows
my muse wallows in pity, cries out loud
my power weakens, as mighty pen's grows
will heart this epic loss, thus be so proud
Paper gasping, at pleading so sincere
even I the poet, shed salty tears!

When faithful pen, releases not its ink
heaven and stars refuse usual blinks
moon dims and lets out moaning mournful cries
poison arrows shoot across wailing skies
Paper cringes in desperate despair,
around weeping edges begins to tear.

Vague Memories Of Slow Fading Melodies

When broken dreams await hard hands of Fate
And willing dark, its powers concentrates
Life slows and diminishes as on cue
All has passed before, nothing is new.
In that wretched place, souls are sliced deep
By horrid nightmares, in disturbing sleep.

This poet's pen often dares to relate
In echoes as if crying for lost mate
With weeping words-tears and resounding moans
Through wide valleys of darker undertones.
In that aching place, epic pains accrue
such is human life, for nothing is new.

As splashed ink soaks onto famished page
One may see injustice, well up with rage
Oft heart's desires stir that miserable soul
To ask for pity's coin to pay the toll.
In that regretful place, black snags abound
Such is dessert to Fate's hungriest hounds.

Sad night turned into racing day. Grounded birds forgot which way is up.
And the pied piper demanded more his pay.......

Premium Member Fakes Give Me the Shakes

Fake people! The Saddest of all
Selfish, Greedy, Tall & Small,
Ruthless beings, Cold eyes
They swarm around like flies
Always around when you've got cash to throw
Run for their lives when you don't! Interesting to know
The other side of the coin is sheer gold
Genuine people you can laugh with til you're old
They'll always be there for you no matter what
And they don't care what you've got!
