The Bill of Rights, Part I

The Bill of Rights was ratified
by citizens in these states,
But, see, now there is a problem
Today, it’s the world we face.
There are ten things Gov. cannot do,
They are spelled out for everyone.
For now, these rights are set in stone.
Let’s review them, one by one.

The right to worship where you dare
is the Number One protection.
Arab, Jew or the Satanist;
Free from undo persecution.
But when their Gods tell them to kill
we will hunt the sinners down.
We’ll even fight in foreign lands
and bomb them into the ground.

It also says to speak your mind!
It was next on Jefferson’s slate.
But, please, don’t utter the wrong words,
No obscenities from your crate.
Burn a flag and we don’t care,
The Supreme Court said one day.
Even fools deserve a voice.
But, in schools, you cannot pray.

Freedom of press is mighty nice
Till Paparazzi track you down.
How does the First Amendment
Let them treat you like a clown?
If the press is wrong, you can sue
But infrequently will you win.
The Courts have said, time and again,
Their mistakes we will pardon.

The right to gather we do have.
Thank the Gods they put this in.
Just make the choice of time and place
And let the world see you win.
Protest someone’s execution,
Say CNN and Fox News,
We will ask you stupid questions
And take shots from different views.

Right to Bare Arms is Number Two
NRA says that’s a FACT now.
Our founding fathers never saw
An SMG shot at a cow.
If they had, I truly think,
They’d be completely horrified.
A change of minds you’d see so fast,
‘less, of course, they’re petrified.

Militia is a good idea.
Let’s secure the federation.
Please don’t shoot the officers
When they come for regulation.
You’ll only see the FBI
If you buy weapons banned,
Or if you brainwash members
To take poison from your hand.

Number Three? No GIs in home:
Not at peace, nor if at war.
Unless the Houses pass a law
Proposed by a senator.
But even with that stupid law
We will ask before we do.
Forefathers said we surely must
Just don’t expect us to pay you.

Acrostics Du Jour

ACROSTICS DU JOUR

ODIS

Once upon a very sad time,
Disappointment crossed my hapless mind.
Instead of thinking that would be fine,
Someone gave me this dog to walk behind.

SUZANNE

Supple and sweet within my reach
Under starry skies or sandy beach
Zigzagging memories across my heart
Another moment and we will part.
Now I’m alone and she’s not here.
Nothing I can do will soothe this fear,
Each separation starts it all over again.

RAIN

Releasing torrents of the wet
Allowing the dirt no time to set.
Increasing the patter on the ground
Nothing but sunshine will stop the sound.

CANDY

Crunchy or gooey in the mouth
Always a favorite in the North or South.
Never enough to satisfy your insatiable hunger,
Destroyed your teeth when you were younger.
Yesterday or tomorrow, the outcome’s the same.

FAT

For ever and ever those inches abound,
Around your waist you deposit that pound.
This can be reversed, just walk the ground.

DOORS

Doors have only two functions in this world.
One side keeps the world out, the
Other side lets the world in.
Regardless of your choice, it’s easy to
See, neither one is without sin.

BUMPS

Before road graders things were not smooth.
Unless at the beach or on the enamel of a tooth.
Man gets exhausted keeping things on a flat plane.
Perfectly smooth so boring, like riding a windowless train.
Savor the ups and downs, it stimulates the brain.

AROMAS

Among the many morning scents,
Ranking as first and here’s a hint.
Other than gas this too comes to from a bean.
Many can smell it and not be seen.
Armed with a jolt those jitters dissipate
Surely God made it for us, isn’t coffee great.

Sponge

One year older another yaer colder
so alone so empty but still ready for change
to challenge the world on my own is all that I know
who am I what am I, am I strong or am I weak
Do I belong or am I completley wrong
wondering all alone in this wicked world and never looking back
living just another day as it comes and just goes
no pland no motives
just letting it all roll off my shoulders
but secretly obsorbing it all in like a sponge
so at times it is very heavy and seeps out water ,patiently waiting for it all to release
to suddenly expand to the max that it just may expoid, to much of a load but it never does
through my eyes of a child making me wild I have been here I have felt this yet I am still
powrless to stop it
Roll with the punches and when you fall, fall hard
be sure when you stand, stand streight holding tighter with all your weight
emotionally strained you haven't drained your sponge
you need to squeeze it out and redress for a new look
a new understanding for you
a new me

More Demons

Demonic ritualism is an evil world
Political demonism is in our world

We need to cleanse the world of demons
Don’t need a lens to see these demons

How deep the ritual to keep them poor
It seems habitual right to the core

The world must change or all the demons
Will get more range to create more demons

We see the news it’s what they show us
When we’re not there how do we judge this opus

I’ve been a demon and judged some people
And based my faith on the highest steeple

Do we need a reason for a change of the tides
When the demons have taken us for many rides

These are my thoughts they are not just mine
You might think that I’m crazy but really I’m fine

When demons are exercised and out on their own
It’s then they will know that their cover is blown

Nine

dieing fast in my shallow words
breathing lies and words unheard.
you look at me like im crazy.
sorry love but you wont daze me.

your only in my world if i make it that way,
and i want you here so please sit and stay.
these walls are melting so i'll be able to see outside.
if you come in i promise you i wont hide.

looking out now a view of the sea.
i feel and smell the freshness of the air.
again i am alive...
but im dieing fast in my shallow words.

the world slowly crumbles to my feet,
for not even i have a world to live in.
im living in someone elses and they dont know how to live.
ill teach you how to breath if you take my hand.
