Best Sacrificial Poems
“The Sacrificial Burn”, a very short story of a pyromaniac, who loved the Light too much.
A writer’s journey. Perhaps it’s about life. Perhaps it’s about death. Perhaps it’s about the end of the world and wanting to take back time again. Perhaps it’s about ghosts. Perhaps it’s about becoming a ghost. Perhaps, as another writer friend of mine advises, it’s up to the reader to interpret for themselves relating the story to themselves. If it doesn’t, then the writing unlike ectoplasm doesn’t stick. Perhaps poetry is just the biggest mind f*** of all, like love, an addiction, that gives great pleasure and the most immense pain and one just has to walk through the walls cutting up their words each time they pass through, like some grand reincarnation. Some ghosts are eternal, remembered, some fade forever and are forgotten. The worst ghosts are best forgotten or jailed up in a Dybbuk box, not to be thrown into the deepest ocean, not to be buried, but to be burned. The sacrificial burn with a few incantations, a bit like poetry. A flaming pyre of poésies sent off in its boat with the ferryman across Styx. Of course, all this is done with Love biting its tale.

“You arrive, now that I must leave
I'll take one step out of the nice dream
Into, something unknown, something unkind
Somewhere so quiet, gone from your side
Send me to lie here
Forever unseen”
“Why, why would you leave here
Right when I need you
No, I can't see you
Out in the open
Out in the darkness
Here where I knew you
Here in my heart
And on somewhere unseen
The distance is killing me
The distance between
I'm taking the water, taking on time
Does it ever leave
Does it ever leave
Taking on the water, taking on time
Does it ever sleep
Does it sleep at all…”

White daisy's in a wicker basket
graced the tiny metal casket
where his lifeless body now lay..
Family and friends wrought with grief
shook their heads in disbelief
as he was only ten years to the day...
His story made the news
with it's all familiar tragic hues
and the politicians had their say...
People gathered on that street
lighting candles, placing wreaths
in remembrance of where he was slayed...
The sun still shines on this space
his spilt blood cleansed to not a trace
but what a price his community has paid...
What kind of world have we created
when young lives can be negated,
falling victim to gun violence every day...

Prose
Streaks of pallid moonlight
wash over blood-stained
burnt umber leaf blight.
Glistening stainless steel remains
within wilting noir roses
and blistered blades of grass.
Sickening hands shake my repose,
heart racing, sure to collapse,
feeling faint.
A revolting nausea elevates,
trying to find restraint,
as madness deregulates.
A heart separated
from a lifeless corpse—
death awaits.
Flashbacks play like static reports,
too hard to get a clear picture.
Splashes of splattered red fill
spaces in between scriptures.
Screaming echoes spill,
dirty visions getting clearer,
as the sacrificial lamb
becomes the predator, evaporating fear.
Fighting for the blade, fingers clammy,
spinning out of control.
How could you bring me to this?
Steel cuts against palms, foretold—
splatters of crimson spray, don't resist,
covering fear-filled eyes.
One last-ditch effort:
grab the hilt and arise.
On this deadening night, collect.
You became Samhain’s sacrifice,
a feast for the demonic nether, sanctified.

Rhyme
Not all news of its existence brings joy –
a heartbeat is denied the trumpets
instead, news is shared in long drawn
out breaths with eyes that never dry.
A vow was broken long before –
Those nights, when they turn off the light
a silence is broken amidst long sighs.
A creature of habit learns in time certain
vested interest will come to be expected;
promises are forgotten in the dark.
But this is unexpected news; now the light
need no longer be turned off every night.
The weeping stops when a decision is made;
she finds that self-sacrifice does not extend
beyond the sanctity of life. A creature
of habit learns hypocrisy the hard way.

"Sacraficial Love"
(Verse 1 )
Love is such a strong word
It's not showed nearly as much as it's heard
Sometime with love you have to fight
Not with your hands, but with all your might
Love sometimes requires a sacrifice
Giving up something , the Ultimate price (price)
So that I could have a better life
And could for once get it right
(Chorus)
You sacrificed for me (me)
You did it out of love (love)
You opened up your heart
Regardless of (of)
You really paid the price
You paid it with your life
I'm thanking you Jesus from above
For the unconditional sacrificial love
(Verse 2)
I fail you daily ,yes (yes)
Inspire of, you still see my best
You take away all of the stress
I never have to worry
I can rest
Even when I make mistakes
You still love me
Even when I've thought less of myself
You still hug me
Never met a person who
Would give his all
Just to make sure
I can be picked up when I fall
Chorus)
You sacrificed for me (me)
You did it out of love (love)
You opened up your heart
Regardless of (of)
You really paid the price
You paid it with your life
I'm thanking you Jesus from above
For the unconditional sacrificial love
(Bridge)
You help me see
Gave me back my vision
You were there
To help me with all kind of decisions
Never left my side
What a wonderful sacrifice
You paid it all for my sins
I don't where to begin
Your love has always been unconditional
And beyond sacrificial
(2x)
Chorus)
You sacrificed for me (me)
You did it out of love (love)
You opened up your heart
Regardless of (of)
You really paid the price
You paid it with your life
I'm thanking you Jesus from above
For the unconditional sacrificial love
Repeat until Chorus fades

Sacrificial Mother
I gave birth to you,
I sheaded blood and tears for you,
Nearly died trying to keep you from harms reach.
I gave you a warm home,
on those cold winter nights.
I showed love and sympathy when others wouldn’t,
Don’t you soon forget child,
Who was always there for you.
Love your Sacrificial Mother.

Little by little God is going to give you everything you need
He will empower you and equip you with gifts that you asked for
And some that you don't ask for
You know that gift that you've been bugging him for?
Don't be surprised if He gives it to you one day lol
God wants you to be whole
to be fully developed
into the person like He is
So look in the mirror and see if you are like Him yet
If not, be sure that He is working on you
Sometimes we know what our shortcomings are
And sometimes we don't
Sometimes we know what we struggle with
And constantly bug at him for a solution
God - come to the rescue
Hallelujah to the Lamb of God
For His mercy, kindness, and endurance
How does He ever put up with us?
We are so headstrong, so rebellious
pushing mercilessly and crushingly ahead
If it wasn't for Him, we would plow thoughtlessly
- right straight into the path of destruction
Oh Mercy Savior, whatever You need us for
I would never know
But today I know
That your guiding Hand will lead the way
Love you my Lord
Live on

Ferocious, East Asian, Siberian Tigers purposely without a conscience, killing crocodiles to feed their children, cobras spitting a paralyzing, vicious venom, God give it, then take it, Life or Death couldn’t occur without his gorgeous, perspicuous permission, souls spacious, her heart’s vacant, blood is thicker than muddy water, possibly depending on this occasion, love without trust, kills most situations which fuels a grueling frustration, ants eating maggots regurgitation, now we run around Rich on Masta’s plantation, beforehand we got hung upside down castrated, slave owners watching our women masturbating, raping them on purpose, to lighten this fabricated nation, anacondas sitting on clouds killing, then eating that thundering lightning, while that tiger sits -n- watches for what he sees is enticing, Life is Beautiful, yet ugly with her many faces of sacrifices, in Life we must make sacrifices, for Life, even though we subtract from the value of it, it’s priceless.

All answers want to be given unto you
As swiftly as you can illustrate them
Point to their essence, serenade them
Aboard this passing ship, my view casts not a glare, nor reflection, nor stare,
Roaming freely as the Earth through the timeless air
My outer shell is my greatest inception
Yet as time comes to a crashing halt,
The faintest glimpse of the Strange and the Familiar approach together
As the rime of my belt
A horticulturist’s dream says I
The blackened period that wallows alive
Deprived, sanctioned and walking the line
As our guest is herded out
And suddenly the animal turns its other side
Now in your stomach I wait
Leaving a silent trail of breadcrumbs
Leading to the foothills of the gates
Who, discovery alluded, hadn’t a face
I am after all a sarcastic utterance
Which after years fade into the gloaming of dawn,
Reveals itself a mutterance undone
A muse, a choice, a song
A faro stow-away,
A shy allurement enclosed in a darker response
Building expeditiously my patient getaway car
Holding stead readily around the block
and clocks fall off their "ATTENTION!"
to the approaching sound of
someone else's Hum-drumm

Her Fate lies on a
Predestined canvas
Of muted red
Darkness speaks truth
Though gifts are silent
Blindly, she feels for
The magical key
That will finally unlock
His lonely chamber
Her spirit is gentle
Ready to disclose the one
She has loved
Forever…
’Drink the blood that patiently
dripped from my heart into
this Sacred Cask, and as you
feel me rushing through
your veins know…I love you’
Can he see beyond
Time’s Regal cloak?
Lift the veil of which separates
logic and emotion?
Sight and touch?
She’s coming for him soon
With the key to his
Rebirth
‘Meet me at the
Bottom of the Spiral Staircase’
The tears she sheds
Belong to him…
For him…
Reaching
Within the nucleus of an
Isolated cell
Love hurts that much
A seemingly black abyss
She descends
Answering to the Dark
Moon's Call
Discovering
The deepest place
That eats away at her flesh...
She’ll sacrifice her life
For Him…
If one moment
His eyes see…

Prose Poetry
The little lord Jesus
asleep not on the hay
but in the street
Like Abraham the little
boy was sacrificed on
the machine's high holy day
One day after the Winter Solstice
His family lived in a comfortable
home in Brooklyn NY but his father
took the subway to the highest
mountain near The Dakota in Central Park West
The 3 year old named was translated
to Kyrios Christos or the Lord in his father's tongue
He was placed on the high alter
at exactly 12 noon prime meridian
On the day in question
a mother's child was stolen from the womb
unlike the Star of Bethlehem
Venus went backwards
Virgo in opposition to the dark side of Pluto and Pisces
and the Uranus square or the Trickster
Like Christ his red blonde hair
was covered in blood
the measure of oil equivalent
30 pieces of gold
In three days times
the three wise men would have been
welcome to Gotham City but the Mayor
went golfing in Bermuda and the shops were out
of Gold Frankenstein and Myrrh
But what of his message of peace and good will towards men
the sacrificed was paid
and the little Lord Jesus
lay not in the hay but
dead in NY city streets

His glorious throne He left
for this unruly world of theft
A great sacrifice He offered
for the world He suffered
Into this world He was born
The sewage of sin He had to burn
Gifts they brought
His life Herod sought
The erudites swore
Crown of thorns He wore
Oh!
He died then, though alive
Halleluiah!
He's resurrected, yes He has
The precious lamb of God has
risen to life
Three days in the grave, yet back
to life
The power of death He has
thrown into the eternal sack
The sacrificial lamb

Embryonic stillness waits its chance.
Motion concaves inward rounding the
circular language of an onion in a
metal basket.
Minutes and seconds seem to over exaggerate.
So I Taste in square cabinents. ..
salt, vinegar, rice wine.
Wrinkled preservation.
Dehydrated sensation..
Ive got little to look forward to and
even less to look back.
So i just stand and listen.
A little scripture salt in a cylinder
sounds out.
Tiny bones in the back of the ear vibrate.
maybe an old walnut chopping board
turns its scarred back.
maybe an onion unapologetically sheds
the sinues of its skin.
Dry tear ducts and basil leaves hang over
the stove as ceremonial witnesses.

To give unselfishly
Freely, completely
Without reservation
Or restriction
Without limitation
Or inhibition
To give
All you have
To give
And then
Once more
To bare your soul
Without recrimination
To give your heart
Without expectation
To love
Without doubt
Without fear
This is true love
Pure love
A Sacrificial Love.
