Back To Origin

People are commonly different
Symbol of diversity piece
Pure race doesn’t exists

Color and creed are just an identity
Believe only in human history
God sculptured them from clay

People are equally created
Having many opposites
But respecting others taste

When everyone is treated equal
Nothing appears but peace in hand
Discrimination, disunity and, suffering won’t be born anymore

Written to advocate to suppress racism

Home of Tyranny

Blood of martyrs dried in the plains
Died in the Valley Mountains
Fighting for independence

Injustices felt when migration arise
In the island of pearls
And in the land of promise

People were put in chaos
When their land grabbed out of laws
Immigrants view as dominant foes

Once an oasis of freedom
Is now a doom of ignorance?
When tyranny became lord of the land

People were driven out of their post
Were given just pinch of hope
To live life in woe forth

Oh the never ending story
Of the endless tyranny
Please leave this home happy!

Jabidah Peace Garden

Who died are the Sulus
not the so called Moros
They were the recruits
Were killed when refused

Sabah were to invade
They refused to take orders
Sacrificed not to kill brothers
Jabidah Massacre bolted

Jabidah Peace Garden
the name should be penned
part of the history and genuine
not to distort its tale

Not supposed ourselves
Supposed not to hide it
The truth of the fate
Shall come to take the lead

It is nice to be recognized
An honor was made
But think of the truth
A sincere hearts we should

We cried, laughed and proud
From the Mindanao plain
from the valley mountains
and from the breeze of Sulu currents.

I love you peace. Let's sail together. Layag Sug!

In Tausug No Word Means Surrender

Are you asking the word surrender in Tausug?
Nope…
But what is surrender in Tausug?
There is no surrender in Tausug
No word for surrender in Tausug
Wow!
Then that’s great
Only adopted one "surindil" but not in actuality
Never in a Tausug vocabulary have mean surrender
I like that…
There is no word for surrender in Tausug
Yes there is no surrender in Tausug
Never will it be!

This is my tribute to the martyrs of Bud Dahu Battle happened in Jolo, Sulu Archipelago in 1906. The fight was with Tausug against American and Filipino troops. In this battle not even the children survive for any to listen to their cry. There were thousand people died, including children, women and old folks. The battle was known as “Battle of the Clouds.” A conversation with Zagi Hara.

Sabah Al-Khair

The sky unfolded
Strewn with color
From royal red to violet
As far as the eye could see
Standing upon the beach
Waves crashing, sinking into sand
Euphoria and delight fill my heart
Such exquisite music
Feeling pure and free
A refugee before the shining sea
Garbed in white
The sun peeks at me
A blushing sphere
My one true love
I hold my arms open
And the sun rises higher
The untold verses strech before me
Etched in the morning sky
Where I see colors fading to blue
No longer shall I live in fear
Tears fall from my eyes and I murmur,
"Sabah al-khair."

Let Us All Save Peace

I woke watching television news
The jet plane is soaring high note
Operation Sulu is launched forth
Until the intruders to get out
Malaysia always chose to peace
Come and let us all save peace

Philippines is wanting peace
For Sulu Archipelago is its part to ease
Sulu Royal Army chose to enter because of peace
They call homeland in the book pages
They decide to stay and die never ended
Many see this is not a good choice
But for them this is a pride to hold and take
Come and let us all save peace

For Malaysia also has to protect its state
Its sovereignty whether lives at stake
It has chosen the space to negotiate
And has given the time to withdraw in peace
But the “intruders” is hard to take the leave
Come and let us all save peace

Many children cried
Much wives shed tears
Every Mothers weep
Their love ones died but with pride
Our prayers to put ahead their faith
Come and let us all save peace

The eyes of the world where are you?
The humanitarian aid you have to do
Don’t you see the lives are here waiting?
The civilians need your helping
Do not wait until the time lapse to nothing
Come and let us all save peace and do something.

Come and let us all save peace
Take part and let us all save peace
Pray and let us all save peace
Where are you peace activists?
Come and let us all save peace
Let us all save peace!

Children of People

The people at the early days
Fighting the foreign enemies
Blood spills never they are ceased
Until the death comes and they are still alive

The people in time is practicing Islam
Fighting in the field with no hiding arm
Even the bitter bullets still sweet like sugar
The tears run telling never in denial

The people never lost in the language
Until the fall of the power of the world
The rise of the children of people
The power of the country will get back once more!

Layag Sug Is Mylife

What is Layag Sug?
How come you're not answering?
Why are you asking?
For me to know
Why, isn’t it a bully to me?
No. I'm just plainly asking.
Why is it so hard for you to answer?
I don’t know why the question arises now.
I suddenly realize I don't know the meaning of it.
Aha for you what is it?
What is Layag Sug?
Is it a signature to every statement you make?
Or a line you share with someone?
Being a signature to every statement
It is also a line to share to make Sulu familiar with people today
So what is Layag Sug?
What do you think?
I don't know a Sulu boat?
What do you think?
You can share what it is so we could explore
I will give you my meaning
After you give interpretation
You're not answering are you?
Just say so if you're not
I don't have the entire night waiting
Layag Sug is about my life
Longing for the independence of beloved homeland Sulu
Literally Sulu Sail!
That’s Layag Sug seen through my lens of thought
And my experience in life!

A poem made to explain the meaning of Layag Sug through the question of Sulu Gypsy. 12:44AM, 9 March 2013, Sandakan, Sabah, Malaysia. Let Us All Save Peace. Layag Sug!

Stop the War

Today I am crying
I am crying that my brothers are fighting
The fighting started from historical claim
The claim that never any sides to give in
Today my tears fell to my bosom
I am anxious to what happen

Why never the peace is reign?
Why war shall be the end?
Why the people love to kill?
Why there is no way to end without blood spill?

I am not superman to stop the falling tears
I wanted to embrace my brothers to say please stop!
Please stop the war that spills blood.
I wanted to cry out loud but my sober is louder

Please end the war
Stop and give ending
There would be no winner fighting between brothers
The only winner in war is “loser” for fighting with brothers
Please...
Please...
Please...
There must be other ways - to the end the bloodshed!
Please
Please
Please
Please stop it, stop the war!!!
Stop the war!
Stop the fighting!
Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
Stoppppppppppppppppppp the War!!!!!
Where are you UNNNNNNNNN?

Premium Member Remembering You

(Dedication: For the school children, teachers,
adventure guide and tourists who lost their lives
while trekking on Mount Kinabalu, Sabah, East
Malaysia during the earthquake, on Friday,
5th June 2015. RIP. And for those missing.
For their loved ones who mourn their passing.
May you find peace in their memory. For the
survivors, may you find peace in the days ahead.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sad news this sad day: tragic young lives lost;
Yet courage did stay to fight a brave cause.
On June fifth, Friday: sudden tremor swept;
Sabah Mount then swayed with casualties snapped.
A simple school trip: to scale a calm peak;
To gain a good grip, now mortal wounds speak.
Kinabalu trek: where odd earthquake struck;
Brought pain in the wreck, young lives gone abrupt.
We feel humbled here: glimpse heroic acts there;
Teachers who braved fear to cushion harsh fare.
Hear of three trek guides: who focused their best;
Braved tragic landslide to rescue their guests.
Child survivor tells: of human spirit;
Brave acts that compelled when tragic force hit.
We mourn this sad loss: come to terms with pain,
Glimpse uncertain pause, grieve at death's domain.
Sadness moves our spheres: fondly remember;
Flags flown half mast here, watch loss engender.
Sadness marks Games' wit: How fragile life is?
A silent minute to honour lost lease.
Forlorn this feeling: no goodbyes or hugs;
Our children leaving, our broken hearts struck.
Others lost as well: cold mountain terrain;
Twenty voices quelled, sad day flings sad pains.
Tears on sad faces: pain and bitter grief;
Hearts with blown spaces, please let hurts be brief.
Yet life must go on: to live bold and strong;
Pray for those beyond where pain cannot throng.
Sad and grim this day: memories now taunt;
Guilt and regret stray, watch happy days haunt.
Pain and grief will end: to forge happy ploys;
Life sets journey trends, love ushers new joys.
May our tears and pain touch your souls this day;
May we meet again somewhere on life's way.
May our sorrows heal: with the distant tides;
May we live goodwill that stays by our side.
In our hearts we know: beyond sure reason,
Love that ever flows for all life's seasons.
In An Open Cage, You Can Fly, No Wings
Today is Tuesday, 19 March, 2013
36th days, after some armed men from Sulu archipelago
spotted in Tandu Wau, Lahad Datu.
This caused the bloodshed between Muslim brethren.
I am still monitoring the sad stories happened to our new recorded history.
If this conflict cannot be resolved today
what more the coming days that will pass by our way?
I am always optimistic that any problems shall have its solutions
but if the parties will lead to apply it.
It is very hard to live where someone doubts everyone
and everyone doubts anyone.
It is hard to live in an open cage; you know you can fly,
but you have no able wings to fly.
I am praying to the lord Allah
to find ways of solving the misery
that both people of Sulu and Sabah are feeling right now.
The remnants of colonisers continued to divide us.
We are all victims. There must be no hatred spark among.
We must be vigilant; there might be any other agent
to hand us instruments for us to play the music
and they are going to dance.
Allah has all the wisdom,
He is the only grantor of peace had we wish!
Ya Allah please help to Let Us All Save Peace.
Malaysians Today
Malaysians Today
There are times I wonder if we are real Malaysians...
There are migrants and there are immigrants...
Then you have locals and there are natives...
And we all know there are new Malaysians....
Whose looks and interactions are so alien...
But, don't be surprised where and when there are new Malaysians...
They have the latest IC, they religiously fly the BN flag and Jalur Gemilang...
West Malaysians need a passport and yearly passes to be in Sabah...
While the new Malaysians, they freely crisscross the porous borders...
Seems all too true, Malaysia Boleh, anything can happen.....
Laws are subjectively applied to fit the situation...
And politicians, they complicate  every possible solution...
Playing up sentiments of divisive influences from race and religion...
Money and corruption are partners in crime hindering  development...
And if things are not bad enough, there are kidnappings across the seas...
And there have been documented incidents of intrusion from illegal entries...
While true Malaysians grapple with the higher cost of living and weakening money...
We are also tormented by the spectre of communal distrust and religious disharmony...
That's Malaysia Boleh,  the Land of Possibilities for Malaysians Today...
Tausug Bravery: What More To Prove
There is nothing to prove
in terms of bravery of the Tauusg.
The Tausug has been proven brave.
What more to prove?
It is our desire to still take the step
of the original cause  for independence
To prove our bravery
to shout in any wall in the facebook
will not bring Tausug anywhere.
So Let Us All Save Peace,
Insha Allah it will bring the Tausug somewhere.
Hero of Sabah
I can't imagine
He hiked the mountains
He crossed the rivers
And traverse the forest
He defended Sabah
He was killed after years
His years of keeping a nation’s pride
His was anti colonial government
Never had he found a word to surrender
But never to deny his Suluk blood
Fighting along with Dusun and Bajau
In his honor I am proud
The freedom of his land he is understood
Stand the hero of Sabah
You are forever in our heart
Your blood grew our spirit to fight
We are freemen with your cause
Datu Paduka Mat Salleh
You are in our memory!
I Am Here To Lend Your Cry
Salam, how are you there?
Wassalam, good, Alhamdulillah
How about the issue in Sabah
Nothing to worry
I am worried because you are my friend
I am okay; just want to know your opinion
No probs, what do you think of that opinion?
Does it hurt you personally?
Nope, it makes sense
I am not personally taking part, I have my own problem
Indeed but I am so sad, many don’t understand the situation
They are taking one side condemning Suluk in general
So as the other Suluk in Sulu archipelago
Many also condemning Melayu in general
I always think about others
My cousin, a policeman is in the frontline
I am so sad, pray hard
Please cry with me
I am here for you to lend your cry
Can I pretend nothing happen?
We can’t pretend to be nothing to happen
Then rest and cry with me
To make people understand is not easy
Sometime we also take time to understand our situation
I am hurt to what happen, we are being fooled by colonisers
They ask us to inherit this misery
Hmmm I am so sorry to hear that
Hopefully you won’t hate the Suluk generally
So, as long as it does not contradict to my stand
What is your stand supposedly?
 At least I have one good friend from Jolo ancestry
I am a good friend because you are good
I know nothing about the war; I just wanted to know the peace
It’s really easy to smile and pretend that you are okay
Rather than telling people why you are sad
It’s not easy to imagine that war
I just want to keep it by my self
I wanted to keep this in my sleep
When I wake up tomorrow
Peace is expected to blow
Let have this peace to reign right away
The poem is made through the conversation with Malay friends from Kuala Lumpur about the conflict happened in Lahad Datu. We shall never put the bangsa in general as what we are thinking is right: Suluk is bad and Melayu is arrogant. We need a better understanding to conclude that each bangsa like Suluk and Melayu have nothing to do with the situation. It is a matter of siding the truth and rights. I therefore personally accepted if everyone hates me because I am Suluk and that would make the world stay in peace and to save peace, I am willing to be called such: “Suluk is bad and Melayu is arrogant” but the “country and world is peaceful” is achieved. The war declared ended today by Malaysian authority. Let Us All Save Peace. Layag Sug. 11th March 2013, Sandakan, Sabah, Malaysia!
