Premium Member Rosebud Wishes

Lilac dreams frozen by winter's breath
I awake to see silent snowflakes fall
Cherry blossom visions are a sweet intrusion
But cold winter winds interrupt this illusion

I am caught in winter's icy spell
Its gloomy song drifts over the dell
Daffodil notions are buried in snow
Rosebud wishes have nowhere to go

 In the depths of winter
 What impressions will slumber bring
 As cold winds howl outside
I dream of the blooms of spring!

Premium Member Dear Rosebud

Dear Rosebud:
The morning dew gently caresses you
like the faint whisper of a young child's kiss.
Your limbs yearningly reach for the sun
as if awaiting a long lost lover's embrace.
Only a pair of vacant eyes could fail to see
the wonderful symphony of color waiting to be.
If allowed to come into full bloom uninterrupted,
butterflies will dance liltingly across your awakening splendor
as honey bees sing praises to your blossoms burgeoning bounty.
I can only pray your thorns grow sharp and rugged enough
to defend against the groping hands of life's wickedness.
Only the desires of the most savage hearts would ravage
a still unfolding beauty and extinguish a spectacle yet to be.
Only a vile pair of ears could fail to hear a shattering heart
and the soul deafening screams of a rose picked too soon.
Love dad...

The Rosebud

It is only a tiny rosebud,
 a flower of God's design;
But I cannot unfold the petals
with these clumsy hands of mine.

 The secret of unfolding flowers
is not known to such as I.
GOD opens the flower so sweetly
when in my hands they die.

If I cannot unfold a rosebud,
 this flower of God's design,
then how I have the wisdom
to unfold this life of mine?

So I'll trust him for leading
 each moment of my day.
I will look to him for guidance
each step of the pilgrim way.

The pathway that lies before me,
 Only the Heavenly Father knows.
I'll trust Him to unfold the moments
Just as He unfolds the rose.

Snow
melts on
the rosebud
as pink petals
blossom. The warm wind
caresses her
with kisses
from the
sun.

Premium Member Tiny Rosebud

Inside this lonely garden big enough for only two
is a tender shoot arising wet from morning dew
And although the earth is craving, I am pining too
for a little tiny rosebud to whisper, "I love you"

A Dewy Rosebud

Blushing
rouge complexion,
wearing a crimson robe;
bathing in cool fountain of youth-
fresh dew.

Premium Member The Orange Crush Bottle and the Rosebud

one morning or should I say the evening before I proceed to clip a rosebud whose bud was questionable to being cut too soon and the rosebud says to me if you cut me too soon I will not bloom but I clipped it any way and I say to the rosebud are you going to grow or wither and to both our dismay I will come and throw you away. the next morning looking for every event of the day to be exciting I rushed to the rosebud under the lighting and this beautiful red rose says to me hello my friend how art thou look at me ,smell me and I did and the beautiful rose continued last night when you lay down to sleep and cut the light out I knew without a doubt in the morning I will blossom for you cause you dipped me in mr. good stuff the orange crush bottle and I mused as we looked at each other the rose and me-I thought the rose is telling me this bud is for you! then said the orange crush bottle, I still am making um holla, then I said well let me get on up from here and try to make a dollar, let me hear you holla for the orange crush bottle!

(Triple Verse Triolet)

Six rosebuds sit atop the stem,
a hint of pink above the green,
each one a rare and lovely gem.
Six rosebuds sit atop the stem.
A chipmunk scuttles on the scene,
I watch him in the shade, unseen.
Six rosebuds sit atop the stem,
a hint of pink above the green.

Four buds remain upon the limb.
I turn my back, now only two
still blushes pink above the rim.
Four buds remain upon the limb,
a perfect foursome, although slim.
Perhaps I'll whop him with my shoe.
Four buds remain upon the limb,
I turn my back, now only two.

A chipmunk nibbles on a rose
he holds within his elfin arms.
I throw my shoe, do you suppose,
as chipmunk nibbles on my rose?
He sits upright in such a pose,
he captivates me with his charm.
A chipmunk nibbles on a rose
he holds within his elfin arms.

The Rosebud Rouseabout

THE ROSEBUD ROUSEABOUT

[ These days when Poets are unsure of spelling, they turn to the spell check icon
on their computers to help out. The results though can sometimes leave you in
the dark. ]

My mind was on some new bush verse
Based 'round the shearing shed,
But spelling was my weakest point;
A thing that poets dread.

The word in tow was rouseabout
I really was in doubt.
My good old spell check icon though,
Would surely help me out.

I moved my cursor to the square
And clicked the space called start;
Then rouseabout came on the screen,
With help there on a chart.

Most rouseabouts are manly lads
Young Kidmans on the grow,
Though what it did suggest to me,
Showed some folk sure don't know.

It did not recognize the word -
Not found - the thing displayed,
But said, you should try ROSEBUD sir,
Some help, I felt betrayed.

Rosebud

I wanted to keep you alive,
in the small waterford bud vase
near our bed,
the one the minister spoke of,
on our wedding day.
There was always a rosebud in the vase,
you'de replace the dead one,
then I would,
we took turns,
the rose our rogue child,
that breathed a fragrance of the eternal bloom.....
and that night that you died,
I put two buds in the vase,
hoping that your parting was
no more than last nights dream.

Rosebud

Rosebud, rosebud soft and sweet
Why were you created for this world to meet
with no one to love or care for you
Only to greet the mornings dew
Before the sun before the light
Only to awake during late night

You of love the world of hate
What can be your fate
But your creator has not failed
He gave you so gentle an armour of thorn
To protect you from sadness and mourn
but how can he protect you from age
He can not put you in a cage
For no one can be protected from that
Soon age will come and you shall fade from memory and that will be that.

Yet how can anyone forget your lovely face
Would be a sad and different place
But times change and years pass
Faded forever more into the grass

Autumn Rosebud

Autumn Rosebud; a ballad

Where art thou, mine dear Rosebud?
Thou art dearly missed within mine heart.
Thy tears I beg thee not to shed to forlorn
Mine departure, for we shalt never come apart.

Thine pages unfold to a new start.
I mourn thy brilliant blue orbs that art beyond doubtful fathom,
And I mourn thy red lips drawn with timeless art.
A sign; I need thee to reveal thy blissful blossom.

Our organs therein shalt never depart.
I hold thee deep within mine timeless autumn;
For eternity I cherish thee, never to part.
You remain blessed; betrothed, we shalt be within mine nameless sanctum.

My Rosebud

I miss you so much
It’s killing me
I left you home with him
But it just had to be.

As much as I love you
He needs you more right now
I’m so sorry my baby
Please forgive me somehow.

My heart yearns to hold you
To play with your toys
To laugh at all your antics
I even miss the noise.

Someday you will forget me
Which will be better for you
But me my darling Rosie
I will always always love you.
