Refection

I remember when i couldnt look in the mirror at all
to disgusted to see the bruises from my so called fall
but know i look in that mirror with pride
theres no more bruises i have to hide
i love myself and and the way that i look
those are the only things that u never took
my reflection shows growth and joy
not pain from a bullying boy

Not Like You

I would never stoop myself to do the things you do.
Nor drop down in the gutter swimming in that toxic stew.
I hold myself to higher standards, not like some I know.
And when I start MY rumors I know when it’s time to go.

We have naught in common though your common label fits.
You’re average in every way, with no distinguished bits.
And I am glad my standards hold me up so tried and true.
I’m shocked when I discover that I’m rather worse than you.

I Am Your Refection

We all are one separated into many
We go our separate ways
We kill and we maim one another
Not realizing we are the same

We are all brothers and sisters
Who live all together
In a world full of pain
What do we really have to gain

We have lost our love for one another
We look at each other as strange
Who do we blame
Look in the mirror we are all the same

Premium Member Shadowy Tales

Shadows are unforgiving,
stark in relief,
dark in infill.
These stiff hollow silhouettes
of gutted entrails
follow us around,
lacking the detachment
to avoid being brutally honest
about our outline shape and
where we've been and why.
We avoid looking back at
the shadowy dark-side behind us
that is plain as day
to those who watch our
tell-tale umbras
that trail behind
as tails
as wagging truth sayers,
dark, stark, stiff
unforgiving naked,
rear-view selfee cut-outs.

You gaze into the mirror,
the words written on a page
and the many others
your eyes upon have lain.
You see yourself there
 in black and white
or who you wish to be,
if born in a different time
somewhere across the sea.
You fall in love with many,
man or woman who knows,
for when you are not yourself
then anything can go.
You have buckled many slippers
upon your feet… or boots…
and walked many a' mile
 in other people's shoes.
You see your face as princess fair
 or villain black and cruel
you've been a little child
and a creature and a fool.
You've been to far off places
without ever leaving home
you ride upon your rocking chair
and on your bed you've flown!
You've heard a thousand tongues
 but all within your mind
so everyone you have met
has your voice in kind.
Oh to have this power!
to go where and be who you please
is the greatest treasure
that could ever be!
Without it how would we understand
the world around us or know ,
what's true in life,
 have love for all
 or have our spirits grow?
The power of knowing letters,
how they form into words,
oh it's near impossible
to explain the passions they stir!
But alas! The moral!
Not impossible but real!
For the power to read and write
can express all that you feel.
I hope the words I'm writing,
The ones that you read here,
form a clear reflection
to see yourself appear.
