Mahadev

Leela is Mahadev's creation
Of the creation here
To write Leela, we have been
Originated from creation here

Colouring with all the breath
In mind day night
In the greatness of devotion
There is no relation's fight

The ladder is held by the SHIV
MAHADEV is a sweet name
With devotion and determination
The song of Shiva's Prem

Hariman is the name of BHAKT
Not all actions are celebrated part
Evils of accumulated wealth of few
The knot of the many broken heart

-------------
Leela (Hindi) = Miracle, Nature
SHIV (Hindu) = GOD
MAHADEV (Hindu)= GOD
BHAKT (Hindi) = Devotee
PREM (Hindi) = Love

1947-The Peeing of the Peaked Peasantry - a Mocktail

Monah Kaur and Robert Kumar fled from London, came to ‘Hindustan’; tied the knot
The 'Singhs' stopped their songs and 'Kumars at no. 42' burnt their studio; this rebellion; they will forget not
A petite piece of land was gifted by Uncle Prem to mark their freedom
With much thought the newly wed called it Garden of Eden
They cleared the plot from crawling matters and built a woody farm house
Within a year, Monah gave birth to twins; Lisa died; Minnie who survived became quiet as a mouse
The air around still polluted in invasion and many cuffed in iron
The sun and moon fairer than in London but nothing seemed fine
The couple laboured and fostered peaches for Mr. Big Ben; returned home clad in blisters
Minnie cried; and cried; her parents had no time and she desired a couple of sisters
In financial distress the duo approached the heroic Farmer Bachan to assist his flock
Pleased with their dedication he gifted them a Peacock.
Minnie cried louder now, seeing this English present; she wasn’t a fan
Bachan who was fond of the child, sent her way, a young Indian Peahen
Minnie’s tears lost its way in the Ganges as the new birds found their click
Around Christmas added to the family was a cute hybrid Pea-chick
What adorable ‘chana’ like eyes had she!
Without delay, Minnie named her Chick pea
Eden now a 'Rangoli'; 'Ranisas' and 'Nawabs' soothed in ‘Masala’ tea
All engrossed in the lights and sweetness of Diwali; no attention paid to the growth of The Serpent on that Apple tree.
Those daffodils patented to Wordsworth, danced in the air
In its abode, the serpent watched Eden, what a scare!
One morning, Minnie fetched a Brown ladder to reach the tree which dazzled with rounds of juicy red
The ladder attacked and killed; the child returned home badly bitten, almost to eternal slumber she bled
Bachan’s sheep strayed to the road that was not to be taken, decreased from many to few
Eden cried for The Good Shepard; The Foreign Raj ruthlessly bottled native stew
Prayers were answered and on a Tiger came a Flying sheriff called ‘Shroff’
Bedecked in turfy ‘ceps’ and ‘pecs’; this essence fought in ‘huff & puoff’
Over time; in years almost equal to Tendulkar's century; the Serpent grew wicked miles
The gladiator fought till his last breath, excreting the treacherous reptile back to the British Isles

Patradoot Or the Messenger 3/Many

Patradoot or The Messenger 3/Many
Originally written in Hindi by my late
father Dr. Amar Nath Kapoor

English version by Ravindra K Kapoor

The moment you will hear, the voice of my heart,

You will become pious, like the showering raindrops,

Taking shapes from my expressions,

To shower the rains of Love, on my beloved’s heated heart.

Ravindra

Transliteration of Hindi poem in English- Patradoot or the Messenger.

Sunte Hi Sangeet Hradaya Ka,

Tu Pavitra Ho Jayega,

Udgaron Ka Rup Dharega,

Prem Virsti Burseyega.

By Dr. Amar Nath Kapoor
Freedom Fighter and writer, Poet & Dramatist
(1889-1994)

Background of this Epic

The Patradoot was written originally by my later father
Dr.Amar Nath Kapoor in 1932. He had joined India’s
Freedom struggle in 1920 on the call of Mahatma Gandhi.
From 1920 till 1947 (India got freedom in 15th Aug. 1947)
my father was in active movement as Congressman and
Gandhi’s non violent soldier. For many a time he was
imprisoned for many months to more than a years sometimes.

During one such imprisonment he wrote this epic and sent
it to my mother secretly as a gift for her and to get it printed
and circulated among the masses to create awareness for
India’s freedom. The book was printed by my mother in
Hindi and some of this epic was circulated also, but the
British confiscated the book and press of my father around
1933. I was born in 1950 in a free India. I am trying to bring
this great writing of my father in English which portrays more
than the translation of the epic, so the world may
come to know about this otherwise lost and forgotten great
great epic and the sacrifices of my patents towards India’s
freedom struggle.

Gandhi Dr. Amar Nath Kapoor left active politics after 1947
and devoted rest of his life in
writing easy mass literature and wrote many Dramas,
Poetry books, epics. All his other literary
works were mainly written from 1955 to 1990.
He left this mortal world in 1994. Unfortunately many of his
World class work could not be published so far and Patradoot
is one of them.

Narrow Goes the Lovestreet

When I was He was not,
With He there I am not,
Narrow goes the love street,
For two space there is not.

O keep light loads on I —
Loads scarce can ye carry,
Lighten thy ego’s load —
And lighter shall ye fly.

Knock, knock, who’s at the door?
Me, it’s me, came the lore,
You, me, where’s space for two?
And knocks came nary more,

Returning long later,
It’s you, called the caller,
Prompt was he welcomed in
As one — the scene and seer!

Good if tomorrows teach,
But for today ye reach,
Now’s the time to live in,
Good if goes every itch.

Musings | 06.02.2023 | ego, love,

Poet’s note: The first of five quatrains in the form of epigram is due to Kabeer, Prem galee ati sankaree. As to the second: the first-person singular pronoun huñ in Gujarati meaning I comes with a dot on the consonant. A heavy or big dot is deemed as undue load, luggage of ego. In love, till me and mine, you and me remain, the two in love remain apart, oneness never happens. The remaining three also talk on the same theme.

Beloved

https://youtu.be/lDNzm8Pk8es
Tu yaar, tu hi dildaar, tu hi mera pyar
You're my friend, my beloved, my love
Tera meray dil main hai darbaar
Your court is there in my heart
Karde ek baar beda paar	For once, make me happy
Mujhe ghar baar lage bekaar
I find home and everything else useless
Phiroon main banke tera jogi
I roam around being ascetic in your love
Kehta hai deewana tera hi afsana
This crazy lover is reciting your story
Tere bin duniya mein kya khona, kya paana
Without you, there's nothing to lose or attain in the whole world
Aarzu hai dil hai tu hi tu	You're my heart desire, brain memory part & remain stay in soul
Tere sang bana hoon malang toh sab hai dang	I've become crazy with you and everyone is surprised
Hui yeh duniya mujhse tang
The world is tired of me
Layi hai umang ek tarang
The wave has brought a hope
Baaj mridang toh badle dhang
The lifestyle changes when the drum beats.
Dharti ke aangan mein, ambar ke daaman mein	In the courtyard of the earth, in the lap of the sky
Suraj ki kirnon mein, sagar ki lehron mein
In the rays of the sun, in the waves of the ocean
Har kahin harsu hai tu hi tu
I find you everywhere
Sab log manaye shok, kahe yeh jog hai
Everyone is sad and they say that it's a disease
Mere mann ka koi rog	They say it's a essential memory part of my brain that links to my heart and soul
Hai yeh prem aag toh
If there's the fire of love
Belaag raat ko jaagta hoon mein
Then I stay awake all night long
Raah phiroon main banke tera jogi
I roam around being ascetic in your love
Tu yaar, tu hi dildaar, tu hi mera pyar
You're my friend, my beloved, my love
Tera mere dil mein hai darbaar
Your court is there in my heart
Karde ek baar beda paar	For once, make me happy
Mujhe ghar baar lage bekaar
I find home and everything else useless
Phiroon main banke tera jogi
I roam around being ascetic in your love

When You Came

center>
When You Came (Jakhon Eshechile)
By Rabindranath Tagore
Translated by Snehendu Kar

When you came,
it was a dim twilight.
The moon had not yet arisen
Across the ocean shore.
Dear forever unknown,
Yet I recognized you at once
With my sixth sense.
Your lingering song
Filled my longing soul
And we became one.

When you left, alone,
In the darkness of night,
The moon had climbed
On the bosom of the sky.
Your fragrant garland
Was lying on the wayside.
I could surmise, for whom
You left this adoring boon.
