I'll have to unfriend you on Facebook
your postings are driving me mad.
I'm starting to think that you're lonely,
I'm starting to think that you're sad.

I don't want to know what your cat's called
or when he last went for a wee.
I couldn't care less where your Nan lives,
or what you might have for your tea.

I find all your illnesses funny,
can anyone suffer so much
Each day they seem to be different,
and you like to keep people in touch.

The people who answer your comments
all seem to have problems as well.
Half of them struggle with English,
the other half can't even spell.

So now you will have to excuse me
I'm taking my name off your list
I know I'll feel better without you
and I bet I won't even be missed....

New Year Wishes

May your life be merry, may your load be light:
May your joys be many, and your future bright.
May the road be smooth, for the friends we know,
And may you make many more, wheresoe'er you go.
To all of you - grand folks to know - we raise a glass
And pray sincerely, that Peace soon comes to pass.
So to achieve this end, may our voices be raised.
As for Internet Folks? Heaven be praised!
Let's keep the postings coming and let the rhetoric fly;
Be it solemn, comic, or inane? We'll either laugh or cry
When we read such opinions or indulge in idle chatter,
But all discussion should concern us, so let's natter.
While there's the InAternet, and we can keep in touch,
Whether we write frequently or not very much,
The camaraderie enjoyed here, is second to none!
So to One and All - and I'll bet you're glad I'm done?
May everyone enjoy A Very Happy, Prosperous and Peaceful New Year .

Torturous Technology

Hidden cameras you don't see
Creeps that watch you on T.V.
I-Pods taking photographs
Put on twitter for a laugh
Video streaming on you tube
Of teens being very crude
Facebook postings not so nice
Innocent people pay the price
Of all this technology
Being used for cruelty
Instead of making people smile
It is used for being vile
Cyber bullyings a way
To show hatred every day
Pushing someone way to far
Causing them another scar
This kind of madness needs to end
Technology should never send
This kind of mean uncaring evil
Instead we should make others feel
Loved and welcome--never hated
This would be appreciated
By everyone who wants to see
A more friendly technology

Three Double-Dactyls

I.

Higgledy piggledy
Roger de Coverley
Fonder of hoofing it
Than of romance

Found himself typified
Characteristically
King of the Reels and the
Lord of the Dance.

II.

Willety wallety
William the Conqueror
Wanted his subjects to
Quail at his power,

Crowing to Londoners
Hyperdespotically,
“Look, everybody, I’ve
Built me a tower!”

III.

Rickety tickety
Wolfram von Eschenbach
Sought for a subject to
Fashion a tale;

Tiring of writing so
Eschatologically,
Rather, he turned to the
Quest of the Grail.

NB. The nonsense opening of a Double Dactyl was originally, and is still most frequently, "higgledy-piggledy", but it can be any alliterative pair of dactyls. Here, the opening of the second is from the adapted version of the Scots folksong "Wee Cooper o' Fife" in the schoolhouse sequence of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds-- though some postings online mishear it as "willaby wallaby" or "willicky wallicky". The nonsense opening of the third is from Tom Lehrer's "The Irish Ballad".

Poetry Soup

friendship, imagery, imagination, inspiration, muse, poetry, word play,

Poetry Soup ©

Posting of one’s poem has come to be an inspiring word play
We’ve read one another’s word/worked poetry world wide
We first draft and so fine-tuned our poems before we share and gift
Friendly criticism ‘suggestions’ and praises are bandied about and returned
All our thoughts and words were born from many ‘minded’ inspirations here
All found memories were noted upon and searched within and duly ‘ironed’ out
Opened or shut to variety reviews ‘crafting’ our long ‘elbowed’ running words.

Concerns draw insights that lead into queries to life, nature, family and survival
We have collaborated and composed a 'probed' spicilège of prose, shoulder to shoulder.
We are forearmed with stimulating life variations with ‘factual’ shared hap- enhances to put to pens
It is by reads of everyone's 'trial and tribulations' inked that give us familiarity
Each one another’s unique individual epic postings are winnable word plays when shared
Comradeship truly develops between good words spoken/read or put in prose coming from true hearts and souls.

Circulations of our many efforts to date have been displayed in all poetry styles
Where ‘either or neither’ written poem surpasses ‘its’ place alongside one another
They mesh and contribute to the essence of poetry fare and make a fine prepared poetry soup
And it is this vast wonderful giving of our poet’s word-play that calls all lovers of poetry to listen
We are diligent with 'like-minded' myriads of stanzas that indeed marry and flavour our simmering soup pot!

Premium Member Poets In Sync " Two Peas In a Pod "

April this year
2009
Writing and posting
Wow, it's all going fine

Miss Gorelick, Miss Devonshire
Welcomed me aboard
Two lovely ladies
Wow, this Highlander's scored

But honestly
The feeling i received
Was very much more
Than i had dream-ed

The weeks progressed
As i wrote my poems
The comments by Carolyn
Had kept me going

As i wrote away
Topics and themes
Historical and nature
Subjects to me, supreme

As i read Carolyn's
And she read mine
Two peas in a pod
It springs to mind

Similar writings
And some even the same
Signals in harmony
Sailing the same plain

And look at us now
A collaboration couple
Our future in write
A poet double

Our poems together
Two heads as one
Look out for our postings
There's much more to come

Premium Member Handle With Loving Care, For Fragile Contest

Born with a complex like a tormented fugitive in a constant flight from a life of acceptance, his Life is filled with questions and complexities. There is no room

for blame. In a secret place, he was crafted skillfully; non are the same.*
Stored away in my garage are many items of relative values. Some have little

to no value and are pleading for me to tossed them. Others are just put in containers relative to their size and shape. Some totes contain various items

with distinct labels of identity. Some are boxed; some are in totes; some are very clearly 'marked'. Fragile people are Like boxes of beautiful jars and

choice pottery. Such ones must be cushioned and shielded, with postings, signs, and markings, less they be broken in a thousand pieces. There is a

Divine Mandate requiring us to be sensitive and protective of them. To do less is to be a lesser human. Always present is that inability to stand

up to conflict and withstand insensitive people. He cries easily and hurts badly. He requires special touches of love and human kindness. The 'marked

ones' are so designated, not because he is more important; but rather, because he is so very fragile, and must be handled with care. The one who

would dare to bully or mistreat him will himself be uncovered and revealed as one with much disfunction and sickness. No elasticity; No bouncing ability; No

flexibility; as if crafted in a sea of glass. He is entrenched with fragility. Finished and matured glass is highly useful, but is very vulnerable and easily

cracked and broken. Some of us are strong and solid like a rock. Some of us are weak and vulnerable like sheets of glass. We all are made in God's image

and likeness. You and I have an intrinsic worth of high and equal value. May we be as HE who notices every falling bird**, and embraces us as HIS friends.

Sarcasm Font

If there was one thing that I really did want
I'd have to say it's a sarcasm font
I'd use it to torture, I'd use it to taunt
That would be one thing I really would flaunt
That would be awesome, I'd use only it
For some of these postings that's all that would fit
I'd install it myself if it came in a kit
A sarcasm font - now that'd be a hit

Life Through a Soldiers Eyes

Life through a Soldiers Eyes

Trust Given
Country Served
Not allowed
To whisper a word
Ethics and code
To each they are owed
Honour Bound
Duty Found
Bonds made
Friends fade
Time served
Anyone heard
Left Alone
Outcast from home
Too much grief
Wrapped up neat
Old war wounds
Civi Lifes cocooned
Postings no more
What to live for
Nowhere to go
The Ynco
All cease to exist
In wars in mist
The brave souls
Climbed in holes
Honour Bound
Duty Found
We owe so much
Keep in Touch
Hard to see

The Poet, Pianist, and the Soups Secret Group

You never see his name anymore, but believe me he's still here.
He open's the soups' door, making it possible for me to write beyond this
atmosphere.
He makes it possible to enter these contests, for it takes away from his own time.
All the postings often get him stressed, and yet he was the first to befriend me
despite the nature of my crime!

See, he's a talented poet as well, but he'll tell you he's more a pianist than anything.
My words may put you under a spell, but his finger's will play a melody on your
heartstring!
My father figure is still on the soup, but he chose to go by an alias rather than his
name.
He doesn't like poetrysoups secret group, plus he thinks the contests are judged
more like a game.

He's shown me fatherly love I missed as a kid, and that says a lot.
Our bond is thicker than the walls of a pyramid, and my pen stole the keys to
Camelot!
My father's helped me to make plans and goals, to do all I can to succeed.
He tells me don't let the devil steal my soul, and the Bible I should read!

He told me the soup was a joke, that premium members have learned to manipulate
the placements of contests.
Soup members are starting to see through the smoke, that top placements have
premium members possessed.
I would have to agree; for I know I'm one of the best poets on the soup.
But it's no longer about poetry; it's about being down with #%!$:'s secret group!!

Premium Member Our Class Is Close

Our Class is Close
By Franklin Price
4/23/2015

Our class is close though time has passed
Fifty years are quite a few
Through cyber space we travel fast
To reacquaint with ones we knew

Retired now or very soon
To face less hectic lives
Sit back enjoy the sun and moon
And more vacation drives

We'll tell of our adventures
On Facebook we will post
Try not to drop our dentures
When we tell our tales and boast

High school friends now getting age
Many gone along the way
Reconnecting now is all the rage
Now is the time to play

Don't be afraid to share with us
Past, present, future too
Do not offend or fight or fuss
Could lose a friend we have so few

Life's too short to pick a fight
Give postings lots of thought
Friends don't think that being right
Above all else is what we're taught

Support class mates when they are down
Post things of hope and care
Place a smile where was a frown
Let them know a friend is there

Premium Member Where Do Poets Go

When their pens run dry, where do poets go?
With old verses scripted in rhythm and rhyme,
will their poetry relate past its prime?
Bards, present and past, speak to tomorrow,
inking words of love, passion, and sorrow
shared by us all, and thus, immune to time.

Poets pass, but their poetry lives on
in postings tethered to the internet;
securely stored for anyone to get.
We word smiths forge words to ponder upon,
and those words still speak for us when we're gone;
so when dusk comes, we won't fear the sunset.

Poets find a home in supportive groups;
that lift a kindred spirit when it droops.

God's Children

I saw a man they called a freak.
All because he could not speak.
I knew a man who could not hear.
People laughed and called him *****.
I knew a man who had one arm.
He posed no threat, would do no harm.
I knew a man they called him slow.
Simply because his brain it would not grow.
If you were given a choice today.
One in which you had to play.
And your choices were pick one above.
And know what it’s like to not no love.
Which one I wonder would you choose.
For which ever you pick you’ll surely loose.
Do you think your attitude might change.
If by chance your lives you must exchange.
So think about their feelings before you point and laugh.
You represent God, so show mercy and kindness on His behalf.
