PASSAGES
Sometimes through life
we must "walk through glass"
It is very important to remember,
This too shall pass
We tend to start thinking "Why me, this just is'nt right?"
It may seem to take forever
but we must make it through
and go into the night
We may start to feel "I cant keep up, Im sinking"
as we start wondering of the what ifs and whys
On this, do not dwell, always have
positive thinking
For if we do not,
life may just pass us by
You will still wonder,
"How long can this possibly last?"
Again, do not worry. Have a little faith
and just know
This too shall pass

Thunder echoes through the night
rumbles slightly…
Lightning flashes its bolt of light
ever lightly…
Rain on; rain on, life reigns on
till dawn; till dawn
till the break of dawn…
Love moves on
quietly…
freeing the passages to my heart…
The winding passage to my heart
Stores the secrets to our love
Love exists in no other part
When it is you I’m thinking of
Thunder echoes through the night
rumbles slightly…
Lightning flashes its bolt of light
ever lightly…
Kisses rest tender on my lips
so sweetly…
Caresses soft across my hips
discreetly…
Love moves on
quietly…
freeing the passages to my heart…
The winding passage to my heart
Stores the secrets to our love
Love exists in no other part
When it is you I’m thinking of
Thunder echoes through the night
rumbles slightly…
Lightning flashes its bolt of light
ever lightly…
Rain on; rain on, life reigns on
till dawn; till dawn
till the break of dawn…
Love moves on
quietly…
freeing the passages to my heart…
Love moves on
quietly…
freeing the passages to my heart…

Watching and waiting
Nothing happens;
Until just now
Trade buzz
Money changing hands;
Bazaar commotion
Old shophouses
Newly renovated;
Brisk traffic parades
Corner cafe
Stray conversations;
Small talk overhead
Spring time blossoms
Yunnan, China journey;
Leftover memories
Midday siesta
Groggy with fatigue;
Day dreams of old China
Humid and hot sweat
Sun fires fiery fever;
Cold drink comforts
Noisy food court
Rush of lunch crowd;
Food salvation seekers
Fashionable retail
Branded goods purveyor;
Peacock feathered nuances
Welcome now
Our store promises plenty;
If you've got dough
Face after face
We measure our lives;
Sales offers escalate

Haiku
Make my life storm and shelter;
Earth and magic before mortal promises
Whispered into storm gray silk.
It is all fantasy behind green eyes
Laced with a tiger's grace.
Golden earrings and ambergris
And the sweet scent of repletion...
The solace of one, pure, jewel bright
Unbroken bond
Held in the hollow of your heart and hands.
Sweep away the sorrows of the Past, my love;
Offer me unbridled passion with your kiss.
We do but simply rest in gentleness
Just beyond the lamplight's sweetest glow.
Time passes as it must.
The way of worlds turning
Is not so ordered by our standards...
And we live as we must.
We live, my love;
We are the softest of ripples
The soft ripples of laughter
Filling the air.
Storm and shelter...
Day and Night...
We are a righteous pair.
Passages through
The reality of Storm and Shelter
We truly are
A righteous Pair.

Dramatic Monologue
First a twinkle in her daddy’s eye
Hypnotized
By the rhythm of her hips
Momma’s hips
Gripping, tugging, releasing him
Encouraging the venom
Pulsating, quaking:
The laxative
Voyaging through the passages
Welcome to the world
A brand new baby girl!
Simple mind under the curls
Just sucks on her bo-bo
She speaks her first words
And then before you know
She’s preparing for her classes
The sequel to her passage
Graduation day
For this bright young female
A glory to her story
Tears of joy from received hail
Onto the next chapter
Because it’s feat that she’s after
Enlisted to manage ravage
The Atlantic is her passage
Presented to the tasks
Of a female soldier
Doesn’t think
Solely follow’s her superior’s orders
Was assigned to convoy duty
When she and her platoon were blasted
A tragedy
A disaster
A catalyst in her final passage
I'd love to hear Common recite this rap

Rhyme
unrhymed quatrain
The cutting wind that bellows and then whispers
deceiving in it's lull only to cut through and back when we turn
memories awakened and transported in irreversible succession
shifting the moments played out as unworthiness clasps the frozen images
Impatient as the sequence of events flashes in the mind
an inescapable prison with no jailer
the definitive continued progression of bygone sentiment plays havoc
part secret, part statement, the past truth haunts deeply dark
Redundant buying, selling, and bartering for emotions devitalizes
as the bully beats down any feelings for remorse
adulation becomes the bitter routine of nothingness
a new found path beckons with the dispassionate pureness of sterility
Rejoicing in the decadencey of not caring and pure unshakable freedom
the wind can blow never turning as the branches it breaks fall
mourning comes then anger in an unretractable moment blazes into light
the tree will remain long after the careless wind moves on

Light Verse
Frozen rain fell from the pane of her window as she woke to the sound of whispering
voices:
"Daphne! Wake up! Get out of your bed, walk spiralling stairs to the doors in your
head!"
Coral and iris then glittered the night, like a shattered shimmer of fluorescent lights,
She stared at herself like a wax crocodile, with emerald eyes and a chainsaw smile.
Glistening tinsel wrapped her christmas tree teeth, like flowers and sorrow would clasp
to grief
Firework's flares scattered showers from her eyes, technicolor branches grew out from
her spine
Burnt orange clouds bled onto sangria sky, below swam a sea of lime cactus wine
Figures like trees shivered panics from afar, a glowing haze cast from morning soaked
stars
Her senses tingled, her concerns split in half, the only sound in her head was her
animated laugh
Sprays and leaks spewed from her oil spill hair as she watched the wind curl in the
arylide air
With emerald eyes, and a chainsaw smile, suspended she strolled through euphoria's
isles
Floating like a ghost, in a crystal lit ocean, her eyelids closed, like sunsets in slow
motion...

Sit here and watch
Buzz of bazaar crowd;
Adrenaline rush
Chinatown fragrance
Odd and strange;
Familiar nostalgia
Old men staring
Blank faces recite;
Long forgotten tales
Age brings unrest
Reflections on mirrors;
Stagnant marshes
When you see me
Do I see you;
Familiar shadows mingle
One by one
You pass me by;
Solitary shadow
Lonely scarecrow
Straw marionette;
Harvest leftover
Day turns to night
Day flushes night;
Royal flush again
So many empty
Taxicabs on prowl;
Missing passengers
Tourist visitor centre
Instant information;
Chinatown hotspot
Evening strollers
Dog leading owner;
Free spirited sprints
News flash: why and how
Who and where;
What happened when?

Grief Passages Rewritten
Shards of shame lay splintered in unresolved pieces ~
Bits of crystal if only intentions not repairable
Minutes of I wish regret unreachable, not revived ~
Lifeless echoes sighing with no resuscitation
In a whirlwind tornados uproot shallow graves ~
Screams at the unknowable why unanswered
Yeah but excuses expletives and bargains with denial ~
Blank face of truth paces - bound restless essence
A star at midnight, maybe, a wishing star bends down in prayer ~
Points to the northern light always there
Could it be time makes a way ascending from ashes of stone ~
Grace has its own mission - acceptance

Work word magic
Line after line;
Feel poignant purge
To write is risky
Touch of insanity;
Satisfying mood swings
Joy in wild moments
Tragic comedy;
Comic tragedy
Love is
Too busy to know;
Why or when or how
Head cracked from
Too much thinking;
Should feel more somehow
Echoes of eternity
In this instance;
Look and listen
By blue moonlight
Hear stray voices;
Yet nothing stirs
Strangers stand
Side by side squeezed;
Elevator delivers start-ups
Familiar faces
Office building complex;
Lonely in a crowd
Pulse, poise and purr
Black panther and brown tiger;
Two condo cats preside
Evening stroll
To night market;
Time for nothing special

Rites of passage
Chinese wedding protocol;
Traditional rules apply
Listen to the wind
Late night howling;
Pregnant with heavy rain
Last bus zooms away
Deserted street empty;
Lost hope in late hours
Reason makes no sense
Bustling local haunt bankrupt;
Despite brisk business
Lost in the vast mall
Seek location map;
Stop for directions
Rainy nightfall
Croaking frogs;
Cicada orchestra
Simple strides profound
Write some lines;
Juxtapose verse motive
Someone calls
My name in a crowd;
Unfamiliar echoes

"Time is the thief you cannot banish."
Phyllis McGinley, Writer, 1905 - 1978
Time Passages
I drift midst some pleasant sensation~~from a morning mist,
that promptly parches within glowing ribbons~~where I sail lightly,
plucked anon afloat~~as my ramblings proceed aimlessly,
Presently skims a peacock sky~~fans out its righteous hue,
variously, ducks stapled in a pond~~quacks influences life,
views by ark's parts a motion~~equal to my emotions,
Channeling alterations that affect~~evolved futures,
preceptions are produced clearer~~like a hallway complete of doors,
whenever one is opened~~ventures varied responses,
I noted from moment to moment~~evoked fused answers,
harmonious so far~~whilst I perpetuate forward in thoughts,
mindful about yesterday's storm~~all in all, time will tell.
