Cheap Click

Surfing through social media
it's a wave coming atcha in speedia,
forward motion becoming a blur
clickity clack there is no cure
scrolling fast, getting motion sick,
oh look another cute cat pic
it's a cheap click, a blue like
thumbs up like hitch hike
blazing fast again on the highway,
there's some ads flying our way,
like billboards on the roadside,
x them away, they don't hide,
now it's a bumpy ride,
what is up with that chic, no pride,
blindsided by that news story,
click on the link and it's gory,
not what the story was suppose to be
another cheap click got to me.
smiles turn to frowns then laughter
the two cents everyone is after
every emotion in a powerful punch
let's check on that link after lunch
like pacman chomping the bits
youtube video has how many hits
does that make its content true
this looks like something I could do
cooking up a steak on truck hood,
yum yum that meat looks good
seeing a clip from mythbusters busted
guess not ...I got husted,
didnt' work, ain't going to,... why post
a cheap click from an eager host
can't tell truth from fictionary
dang, this internet world is scary
anyone can make up anything you see,
just look at my post, half the words arent in the dictionary
but that is alright cause it's online,
heck ya ain't even know if these words are mine
but i got ya now with a cheap click
keep on clicking cause something will stick

Premium Member A Girls View of the 1980's

I will go back in time to the 1980's when I was still a young girl,
         loved watching the movie Flash dance;
then, leaping in a Footloose trance,
and with hope took a hip hop chance.
Yes, even back then although much was happening I took a twirl,
        brother just played his PacMan game;
John Lennon was murdered- oh shame,
and Michael Jackson was the name.
In my room- with leg warmers and a boombox blaring I would whirl,
         oh, the challenger and crew lost;
Mount Helen erupts with a cost,
wore ray sunglasses in the frost.
ET, Thriller and then moon walking with My Little Pony- I swirl
         oh, Rubik's Cube my brother's thing;
to my childhood I wished to cling,
and with Whitney Houston to sing.

Take Back Your Children

Daley Thompson's Decathlon
A game that made your fingers throb
And Pacman was an intriguing game
A mission of sticking things in his gob
Who could ever forget Space Invaders
A quest to blitz the monster's before you were reached
And Donkey Kong was a journey towards the animals breach

The last 20 years have been a video game extravaganza
From the Atari to the PS3
And Nintendo and XBOX have followed suit
But made board games obsolete
They have fastly become the 21st century babysitter
Able to hypnotise your child with ease
And catapult them into a fantasy world
Where gladiators are killing giant cheese

This extravaganza is no laughing matter
We need to fight against this electronic regime
Instead of paying £39.99 for things like FIFA 13
It's time to take back our children
Allow them to be innocent again
And rather than locking them a way in a room
Take them to the park again

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

Pacman

fat muncher sittin on the couch,
cheetos bag in hand.

 an abstract maze of orange
 cheesy dots all around him.

still he runs from the ghost
 in the punchcard maze.

 the nine to five arcadian
horror is what he fears most.

Premium Member The Humble Samaritan

Our loving sportsman, Sen. Pacman
Never missed a chance of being a samaritan
His humility and hard work earned him great reputation
And yet his whole body endured more refutation.

A Mortal I Am

Forming sections,
Folding down,
Many complections,
Descriptions;nouns.

Speaking in tongue,
Listening in form,
Sectors of the lung,
Levitates to perform.

Differences in light,
Diffusion of rights,
PacMan fever delight,
Regarding despites.

Dimming prestige as a phobic,
Conforming thyself,
Leaving an anaerobic,
State of mind for myself.

A mortal to be,
A mortal I am,
One twinkle from thee,
Counterfit; sham.

Forget what is norm,
Become what is professed,
Without conform,
Speak without lest.

As a mortal: We need to be a mortal with
WANT TO SUCCEED, AND KEEP FEAR FAR
FROM WITHIN.

Philippines' Pacman

Pacquiao hails from GenSan
Here in Philippine land.
Inspiration to his countrymen
Loves to watch him once again
In the ring fighting ‘til the end
Punching opponent but treats him as friend
Praying in the corner, giving God the glory
Idyllic, like it was such a wonderful story
Now you know Filipinos are serenely beautiful and happy
Ease yourself for I present to you humbly,
Sovereign island country

Behind the Curtains

Behind the curtains,
Behind it all,
looking at it from the higher throne,
the throne of a higher purpose,
the throne consisting a universal spectrum.,

Architectural designs screeching through the data of the universe,
one eating the other like a game of pacman,
artificialness spreading its disease towards the human creation,
preventing it from extracting its inner release!.,

Universal beings we are,
infinite our spiritual growth indeed is,
infinite life is,
life at the moment is just not is,
its just the pure artificialness.,

The artificialness which is preventing us from becoming complete and destroying the privilege of we obtaining our higher purpose in life,
the higher purpose that we would be the universal beings we had to be and that's truly be connected to god and its creation the universe as one divine formulation.

Our Mega Icon Is Love

(In Memory of Micheal Jackson)

A mesmerizing Performance you gave with your
Many charades
Wearing wet, wavy looks, glittery gloves and dark
shades
How this Image, eats away at Us, like Pacman, at
the arcades
Such as your dance routine, in BEAT IT, around the
switch blades
For it proved you had the knack to blow Us away, as
with hand grenades
Recalling the hearts you captured, singing CHILDHOOD,
in the everglades
It's as if you, at the game of LIFE, were being dealt some
Spades
Which is why Our undying LOVE for you, NEVER fades

Premium Member The Cost of Thinking

~ Savage Social Commentary
      Masquerading as Wide-eyed
           Innocent Limerick ~

To think in Italian's 'com-pu-ta-re'
Which rhymes, I guess, with 'to fly' - 'vo-la-re'
  Compute the cost of thinking
You'll end up all night blinking
At Pacman on extinct-squished Ataris

Back To the 80s

ake me back to the 80s,
with top gun all the rage.
with me VHS and Betamax,
and Ceefax holiday page.

Keith had is hand up Orville,
the Rubix cube was fun.
Samantha had her baps out,
on the third page of the sun.

body-popping was a passing phase,
perms had become the norm.
Adams ants had their makeup on,
as they took the charts by storm.

space invaders and Pacman too,
adventures up the park.
British bulldogs on the front,
we stayed out till it was dark.

when people passed the time of day,
with a chit chat at the shops.
no mobile phones or internet,
just a weekly top of the pops.

when we had to close the curtains,
so the neighbors couldn't see,
grange hill and Roland rat
on the black and white tv.

shell suits and hi-top shoes.
woodchip on the walls.
Sierra Cosworth on the drive,
 man that had some balls.

October brought us tatties.
in fields, we bloody well slogged.
with hawkeye watching over us,
and his one-eyed collie dog.

take me back to the 80s,
when money was more than tight.
we fed our meters ten bob bits,
to keep the house in lights.

when pubs closed their doors at eleven.
the last orders bell rang out.
off we went to the takeaway,
but the children then get nowt.

the fish shop guy was our best friend.
he paid us well with scraps.
in return for yesterdays papers,
salt n vinegar we did lash

Premium Member What a Difference

What a difference a divorce makes:
Constant hubbub's given way to eerie silence,
     Peels of laughter to a fluorescent light's buzz;
Ringing phones to muffled cries in my brains,
'Pacman streaming' to rusted mufflers screaming
On the highway outside by the drain.

What a difference a divorce makes:
Sunshine's moved out; clouds've moved in:
Lemonade and cookies replaced by memories
       Drowned in tonic and gin.
     No happy dogs at play; just stray dogs growling;
The company of neighbors now's a grey wolf howling.

What a difference a divorce makes:
"Can you help with my homework, Dad?"
To "Bartender, I need a drink bad," transformed.
"Dad, take us to the park, pretty please."
Now forlorn: "It's closing time, friend. It's best you leave...

Premium Member Never Trust a Hungry Mouse

a gray squirrel sits
motionless atop the fence
winter tugs its tail

silence at daybreak
a weak sun battles hoarfrost
ice diamonds sparkle

a cat shakes its paw
the kittens lost their mittens
a snowman chuckles

the congregation
huddles together in prayer
six feet apart

fun for all ages
Pacman and toilet paper
let the games begin

a lesson not learned
never trust a hungry mouse
to clean up its mess
