I SURRENDER
My God You read my thoughts...
You know what's in my heart...
You know my desires, my needs and my wants;
You know what brings me happiness and sorrows;
You know everything about me.
More than me ever, I know you know me;
There are times I wonder why I need to experience these;
I wonder why You brought me to some places;
I wonder why...
There are times You answer me immediately..
Yet there are times I need to wait..
for a day, a month or years...
I am sorry sometimes I am impatient..
I am sorry sometimes I falter.
And sometimes I become depressed and anxious...
yet despite all these my Father God...
I am holding myself back..
I keep on reminding myself that
You are bigger than anything..
That You are walking with me
and carrying me through all the way...
I know and I trust that in the silence..
You will speak to me;
You will calm my nerves;
You will understand my weakness;
You will give me peace.
And that you will direct me to where the best is....
I have my plans my Father God..
But..
I trust You..
I trust that Yours is better than mine..
I trust that Yours is best for me...
I do not have everything my Father God..
but its okey..
Only I ask...
That please give me more strength...
give me more wisdom...
give me more understanding...
give me more patience...
I thank You for everything..
I know that without You by my side..
I have been long down..
I have been all just a person without a will.
a person meaningless...
a person who is empty..
or at losS..
Thank You for searching me...
I know a lifetime will never be enough to thank You..
Nor what I have is enough to You..
But I trust that despite these,,
You will see me through..
You will still hold me through..
For I believe, You will see my heart...
Thank You very much..
I know and I trust that whatever is happening now..
You are in full control.
Hence, I am totally surrendering all to You.
For my life is within Your hands,
I surrender to You...

Dramatic Monologue
Near to Balmer, MD, not far from WaRshington
(that's DC to you and me)
is the capuhtal, Naplis.
It's a beautiful spot, right on the Chespeeke Bay.
Or if you like hunning, a trip to the forests
North of DC will satisfy yer yen.
After that, we'll come back home to Balmer
and Ah'll buy you all a soda and cigrettes.
Then I ken give ya duhrections to
the historic Fahr Hause where the fahrman stay,
and after that we ken go to the theAter.
So whaddya think? Anywhere else ya wanna go at?
The laundrymat? Okey dokey.
I ken see yer cloze are in need of warshing.
Ah'll go with ya and we'll play games
and drink a beur or two--make a night of it.
Go grab yer laundry.
Let's get thar before peepul take all the warshers.
Whaddya mean I have a accent?
That's ridiculous.
You're the one with the accent.
Sheesh!

Verse
(FOR MY IRISH GODMOTHER WHOM MOST OF WHO I AM IS A REFLECTION OF THE GREAT WOMAN SHE IS!)
"Am proud of you baby!"
At my best moments
and lowest point
outstanding or just okey
mama always tell me am the best.
Often she reminds me the mountains
i have moved
the much i have achieved
how bright my star shines
how far am yet to travel....
"You are amazing my child!"
With immense joy and gratitude
i have come to realize
to mama i am never inadequate.
Each day she teach me
being a mother is not just a role
or obligation.
It is a full time duty and dedication
a calling
a resolution
a pledge of guardian,guidance
compassion,provision
An intimate function of care and solace
comfort,protection
support,affection...
A lifetime commitment!
"Am here for you baby!"
My prayer to Allah
to grant me the same strength
to be as much to my unborn daughter Mia
as my Irish Godmother is to me.
A Mother
A friend
A woman
A role model
An inspiration
And human enough...!!!
"You are the blessing in my life!"
"I love you my daughter!"
I love you too much too Mum,so much, i don't know who i would be without you!!!

I cant take it anymore,
This isn't what I've planed for!
I was confident, saturated with ambition,
I became lost, with no destination.
I had it all, It got took all away;
Joy,love and transparency, became nothing but sadness, hatred and ambiguity.
I loved the way it was, but it was never Okey,
Okey for adapting to facing indignity with respectability.
However Seeking change, Is a double edged sword challenge;
A halt caused by fearfulness, or a motive stimulated by persistence;
To shrink and deteriorate, to rise and pullulate.

Methinks I'm overdoing these pep talks
You people must be tired and bored
I hereby announce, going back to the sillies
Worry not, it's of my own accord
A niche that's always been my cup of tea
Poetry that includes lots of humour
Get quite a kick out of making folks laugh
Losing my smile's just a rumour
So here we go, are you ready for this stuff
I'm afraid it can get a bit hokey
What did the water say to the cruise ship?
Nothing, it just waved... okey-dokey
Now wasn't that extremely thoughtful of me
Coming up with this comedic gem
I'm not just another pretty face you know
I'm real kind and a genuine friend
Are you ready to bust a gut laughing again
Well maybe I'm exaggerating a bit
Are you ready to pee in your pantaloons
Oops sorry! No off colour quips
I've always been known as a rebellious sort
But I've tried hard to mend my ways
So it's nothing but sillies from this day forward
You can bet all your hard earned pay!

I interrupt him and he chokes on the words
I don wanna hear your sugar coated words
To me your kind is more vile than crack
Talk of crack its there but its Okey..
for a stitch in time is a rigid proccess
Rather better you snitch its Okey..
Talk of enlightment bujas get real
Its real dark it real sad it night
Daylight knocks and mine eyes
see light once again
Defender you almost destroyed
Whats sacred you almost spilt
The sacred wine - blood
Defender they hurt you but
But you had to let go
Now you have to write
Write a novellette
luis lee are you not
Not the master lee
Defender i got a visit
From the moose of war...
Defender i embraced
Conflict albeit i didnt end up
End up in the abbyss..
Intra-personal conflict
Is the kettle soup of creativity

Blank verse
You say you're five foot six,
I think your yard sticks fixed.
You say you're five foot six
and your charm is not worn out!
You're singin' okey dokey
and I'm singin holy smokie.
No sir, I won't go OUT!
You put your toupee on.
I take your toupee off.
You put your toupee on.
and you're dancin' all about.
You're singin' okey dokey
and I'm singin' holy smokie,
no sir, I won't go OUT!
You put your false teeth in.
You take your false teeth out.
You put your false teeth in
and my face begins to pout.
You're singin' okey dokey
and I'm singin' holy smokie,
no sir, I won't go OUT!
*Please SING to the Hokie Pokey

If you don’t wanna flunk public school,
you gotta know the unwritten rules
And rule one: listen to your parents
Get your sleepy head out of bed
and go to school
They will supply you with the necessary tools
Obeying your parents is the last rule as well
Heed this rule and you won't fail
Rule two is similar to the first: listen to your teachers
Let it sink into your empty head
what they’re trying to teach you
And do your homework before you go to bed
The third rule is tricky,
it trips a lot of school kids up
So don’t you fall for the okey-doke
Don’t listen to everything your friends say,
if you do, oh boy are you gonna pay
Either after school detention
or home stay-in-the-house suspension
Yeah, and those same friends will be laughing at you
One more rule,
one more thing you should know
Keep your eyes in the books,
and not on the opposite sex
You got plenty of time in your life after graduation for that
Well, that about sums it ... what, hey ... why are you late?
Tardy again,
caught skipping school
Kid, you’re gonna flunk out for sure,
because you ain’t gonna know the rules,
or follow them even if you do

Ballad
A black woman is taught to be strong
resilient, humble and preserved
"It is okey"
"It gonna be alright"
Is the line of every storm.
You see
its beautiful to be bold
not to pour every time it gets a little cold
its cool if you can reserve all those conflicting emotions you have going on
be poised and proud.
That's right
am a black woman
super strong at that
but am tired of having to be brave all the time.
I don't want to be scared of hurt
i want it to be alright should i choose to cry
i don't want to be of perfect mind all the time
i want to be and not mind being wrong sometimes .
I don't want to be too strong to you or i
for you and i
I don't want to be too strong not to fight you or i
for you and i.
Am done being okey when i am far from okey.
i want to be okey if i ain't okey sometimes.
So don't switch off the phone i might decide to apologize after five
don't close those arms i might need you to hold me tight
don't lock the door i might be coming back home tonight.
Baby am done being okey without you and i.

My grandma has always been to me,
the best grandma there ever could be.
She was always head deep in *** ash and steam,
be it baking a cake or sewing a seam.
Our christmas was full of laughter and cheer,
with sprouts by the bucket load and balloons down the stairs.
With grandma there was no shades of grey,
no whys or whats a spade is a spade.
And now shes in heaven with the lord our jesus,
i bet shes telling him what to do, how to please us.
Now theres no better two words that rhyme with pokey, so ill just say ta-ta for now

Light Verse
She was a bright star from the start
brave and proud
had courage and grace
fierce
focused
very stubborn but never lost sight
she knew what
whom she wanted to be.
Made cautious choices in her life
no unnecessary play with the opposite side
gossip
jealous and games she let them sly
she keep her mind right
she knew what
whom she wanted to be.
Burn midnight oil with her studies
graduated first in her class
got a good job was okey for a start
a good man fine one for life
after years of ups and down
the puzzle finally had fit like
she knew what
whom she wanted to be.
An year down the line
she now questions and cry
it is fine but this is not quite like
she knew
whom she wanted to be.
She was almost the face of commercials
now her modelling is hanged dry.
the job pays the bill but she forgot that wasn't her career.
The book, always halfway, she is yet to deliver
Volunteer and charities work no long much in her mind
love life check but even has been with so much trials
Everything in her life is beneath what
she knew
whom she wanted to be.
She had glamour and style
fans who each day plied what is it or who she had worn.
Would research far and wide
always informed on what new winds blew
she used to dance and whirl
long journeys, adventures under the sun would fill her with bliss.
Now she stroll around in flats and faded jeans
from home to work work to home is the routine
Her scent and image okey.
Okey used to be mediocre and not what
she knew
whom she wanted to be.
she feels trapped she say
all her mission and visions are slowly on a vanish line
she withers each day more
suffocating in this box that's now her life
a plight not close to what
she knew
whom she wanted to be.
She wanted to soar higher than the skies
explore beyond borders and sanity
be more than most could ever be.
She was the girl with million worth of dreams
sadly she can no longer list the much
she knew
whom she wanted to be.

A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE MALL
A funny thing happened on the way to the mall
It came in the form of a really odd call
My smart phone rang and answered itself
And began a conversation with a TV chef
The chef was Italian, my cell phone speaks Creole
I pulled to the roadside to hear things unfold
The chef indicated his need for her to see
What ingredient was missing from his new recipe
She said to the chef what you need is crawdads
The chef asked if that was all that he adds
She explained to him in her Creole accent
Crawdads would be his greatest advent
And in his Italian brogue he said okey dokey
But I think it will make my dish rather hokey
My Creole smart phone made this reply
I am a smart phone and I do not lie
The chef said to her how you getta my number
And why you calla me and tella me this bummer
She said to the chef get a line and a pole
Then take a walk down to the crawdad hole
Catch yourself a dozen or two
And change your recipe into crawdad stew
Then you'll be the most famous chef of all
Because you got it all from a smart phone call
Now the moral of this silly nonsensical rhyme
Is to see how many of you will take time
To see if your smart phone is smarter than you
And give an Italian chef your recipe for crawdad stew

THERE WAS A TIME WHEN I BELIEVED IN YOU THE DREAMS YOU HAD AND THE AMBITION YOU HAD SHOWN TO ME.
NOW ALL I SEE IS SOMETHING THAT IS UNREAL SOMETHING THAT IS TRIFILING.
ONLY TIME WHEN YOU WANT TO COME AROUND IS WHEN YOU WANT SOMETHING.
NOT TO SEE HOW I AM DOING OR HOW I AM HOLDING UP NOT EVEN A CONVERSATION IS IN YOUR BOOK.
ALL YOU EVER WANT TO DO IS USE ME AND TREAT ME LIKE A TOY PLAY WITH ME WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE IT AND THROW ME AWAY WHEN YOU ARE DONE.
I AM NOT YOUR TOY NOR AM I YOUR FIDDLE KEEP ON WALKING BECAUSE EVERYTHING THAT YOU ARE TELLING ME IS GARBAGE.
YOU KEEP TRYING TO WHEEL ME IN ALL OVER AGAIN WITH THE SAME OLD SAME OLD WELL IT IS NOT GOING TO WORK THIS TIME.
I DON'T NEED YOU IN MY LIFE I CAN MAKE IT WITHOUT YOU HOW COULD I BE SUCH A FOOL FALLING FOR THE SAME OKEY-DOKE!
IN YOUR EYES I WAS NOTHING BUT A JOKE.
SO I AM TELLING YOU THAT THE FEELING THAT I HAD FOR YOU ARE DISSOLVED NO MORE IT IS GONE.
I FOUND SOMEONE SPECIAL THAT GIVES ME THE LOVE THAT I DESERVE.
I KEPT TRYING TO BE WITH YOU BUT YOU KEPT ON PUSHING ME AWAY SO NOW I AM PUSHED AWAY INTO SOMEONE'S ARMS NOW YOU WANT ME BACK.
WELL IT IS TOO LATE FOR THAT NOW YOU HAD YOUR CHANCE GO TELL THAT HOGWASH TO SOME OTHER FOOL.
BECAUSE I AM NOT BUYING IT!
