Best Narrowness Poems

Premium Member Ethereal Lanterns

As the holy season commemorates revelations of scriptures,
Sacred flame burning within, reinvigorates soul’s intellect,
Steering away from the fallible, toward realms of perfect,
Away from servitude of wealth, to caring for less-fortunate;

Empowering wisdom, vying sapience of enlightenment,
Inspiring collaboration in sanctity of spiritual exchange,
Rejecting overtures nescient, engaged in narrowness,
That confine humanity in fallacies unwitting, misguided.

In domains of self-reflection, repentance, and forgiveness,
Voice of indifference cedes to psalms compassionate,
As defective acts vow to mend ways, yearning for flawless;
Remorseful and empathetic, eying benevolence of solace.

From teachings of awakening, from sagacity of harmony,
Cognitive minds seek insights, transcendent in epiphany,
Propelling life toward enrichment in peace and congruity,
Vying spheres beyond the ordinary, edified in tranquility.

From sanctum of souls, depths of hearts, bells-pious chime,
Tolling expressions of kindness, echoing prayers sublime,
Celebrating precious gift of life, grateful for glory of divine,
As lanterns ethereal guide humanity, through reign of time.

Premium Member A World Without War

Peace and unity sing in harmony, echoing worldwide,
When acts of humility replace revenge-infused pride,
When narrowness of mind, naked ambitions subside,
When nations of goodwill, stand together side-by-side.

No inconsolable tears, flooding grief in mothers’ eyes,
No gloomy dawns rise, in smoke of war on sunny skies,
Clamors of hungry, displaced souls, no longer agonize;
No more shattered dreams, buried alive, to eulogize.

Nothingness ceases to vacate sanctity of self-esteem,
Children now rejoice, reminiscing in Cinderella-dream,
Vying bliss of tranquil, endearments of amity redeem,
Discarding ill will, shrieking from yore of vicious regime.

Hiroshima, Nagasaki—echoes of sad, remorseful past,
Resonate horror and shock, from memories aghast;
A world without war, a wish too far, yet close to heart,
Achievable when covenants of life don’t keep us apart.

Dignity of humanity ranks supreme, as priorities change,
Nations engage in educational and cultural exchange,
Farms and factories hum, ensuring hunger is eliminated
As peace and unity toll, from hearts and minds elated.

Cannot Abide

wind always knows
it limitation
as it writes its swirling
scripts upon threadbare roof.
lamentations for the
fields of empty prairies
as the dry leaves rustle
in strings of grass…

i do not know
my boundaries
the geographical shapes
of my darkness
for life
has been left empty
with only a puppy
of narrowness
to feed
scraps of plain verse too
how the tail wagged for years
as empty …

i light candles
like images on the window
of my smile
for the sputter of light
is much more reassuring
than the breathless darkness.

i recite my own alphabets
that i have
hidden in the mysteries of my throat
and marvel as the moonlight passes
through the simple words
the trellises of upper
and lower case

shades i have formed
with my craftless hands
and letters
speak upon the glass
of outside
like frost
for i have found my true words
and they fit my squalor
with a strength of calmness
for darkness cannot
abide in smallness
so it leaves me
as the darkest raven
ever imagined…

Stuck In a Rut

We’ve created life that makes us see each other indifferently
In your world, I am an intruder while in mine, you are the coarseness.
Making conflicts that are war like with little understanding of why we even came to know each other.

Wherever my element throws out to yours there comes narrowness and excess of modishness, which may at last reach such an extreme as to see evil in whole yours.

Why is it so difficult when it would have been so easy if I humble and send you the truer feelings of respect and submission? For which will this make you feel a sensation of ease and comfort wherever you may be?

If my thought and sympathy was turned entirely on another, or entirely on other interests, would you feel restless and uneasy? Though entirely ignorant that my affections had strayed in another direction more than once as evidently you have known for sure as an open book or can I say as of a child’s innocence?

That of the flow of your thought to me in the desire to entertain during our mutual hours of leisure has results to cheer and strength. The pleasure it brings have been increasing and keep on increasing as ever, making it difficult to focus on other things immediately every time we meet for longer time before I gain my focus.

Every time I gain my focus, your trumpet like voice have been a constant reminder of the truer pleasure that constantly make it difficult for me to completely move on. A husband and wife you called this from the first time we met and truly I am stuck with little knowledge of moving for it has been a deep enchantment, difficult to wake up from.

Hope not so long that I will be able to disappear before your own sight and mind, be melted away like the sun does to the stars by morning never to be touched but be of reminiscence; this is but only of dream for now, for I am stuck in the rut.

Premium Member The Forgiveness Trap

The sense of injury we feel,
owing to belied expectation,
by ego thought spirals amplified,
leads to our suffering and agitation.

Thus arises the real reason to forgive,
for us to heal our wounded heart.
So, is forgiveness selfish?
Let the debate start!

A flying wasp stings
or a stray dog bites us.
We feel pain but shrug it off,
accepting what is, making no fuss.

So, it’s not pain but the expectation,
we have from souls in human form,
that causes us mental anguish,
when denied embrace warm.

If we let go of expectation,
accepting each soul as they are,
then irrespective of their behaviour,
we’ll exit narrowness and cease to spar.

The need for us to forgive is obviated,
for we never ever feel injured at all,
humorously viewing play of life,
in monk mode, standing tall.

Acceptance, not forgiveness,
is then the attribute to ingrain,
looking at spirit and not outer form,
soaring at heights, free from ego stain.

Premium Member Measure of Stillness

Qualitative
And quantitative
Self appraisal
Humorously casual
Of our stillness quotient
Moment to moment ...

First the qualitative
The depth meditative
Thoughts & body still
By non-self will
Imbibing the love energy
Of current divine in synergy
Is uplifting
Consciousness enhancing
And yet but the beginning
Of our journey enlightening
Then going in deeper
The ascension steeper
Requires dissolution
Total annihilation
Of the self, voluntarily
Choice made choicelessly
Being, becoming, in oneness
The That Awareness

Next, the quantitative
A matter contemplative
Being the response time taken
By our consciousness when shaken
To return to equilibrium
From egoism fearsome
When the external
Stirs the internal
The ripples disturbing our calm
Are cause for observational alarm
In that our reflex response
Imagined to be divine ensconced
Is fragile
From anxiety to smile
The time we take
To forsake
Narrowness & contraction
Back to Oneness & expansion
Is the quantitative scale
Of the way on earth we sail

Premium Member The Eight Spoke Water Wheel

A Quote By: Drama Queen Workshops
Karma even when you're not aware, it is present,
active, and responding precisely, always...

We live in bondage caused by our past views and pink colored lenses
alienated from altruism by deep chasms erected by ourselves,
immersed in a fake security world infiltrated by illusionary truths,
we succumb to fear and doubt, allowing them to besiege us;

Sentient Beings that we are we distort world views in order to
accommodate our own comfort zone...
Unraveling our deep rooted narrowness is a good thing,
if we are to transform, we need to be able to see our own reflection
and realize that in the eyes of Pre-judgment we are nil...
When faced with life's fast moving water wheel old spokes of wood and steel,
do not outlive the water pressures of this era;
We must leave behind old belief systems
like prejudice, intolerance, gender bias, racism, and past conditioning,
if we are to embrace the moment to moment of life's experiences.
Only by replacing judgement with clear vision,
can we become new Adams and Eves, and eat from the tree of life once more.
Only then, can we be part of a re-configured Universe.
A perfect mirrored reflection of our true selves must emerge
if we are to encompass all that surrounds us, and our hemispheres.

The Beauty of Us

I drift away,
yet you are still by my side,
                          aching for my love,
                          if only in spirit-

            I need reassurance...
            you stay with such ease.

I sift away,
yet I am still in your thoughts,
                         remembering my passion,
                         if only in desire-

           I need compassion...
           you give with such mercy.

For you are my hourglass;
your grains that sift through my
                                   narrowness-

and I am your dew drop,
quenching each petal that holds
                                    together your nectar.

Vanished Flowers

My distant seas
Flooded the land
In the night.
My bright fires
Smell burned nostrils.
Pain.
Distorted are
The kisses.
My warm dreams
Frosted by
Extinct stars
And oaths
Which only the constellations
understand.
There they are
Like curses.
The thief took away the peace
Kept in a vortex ‘till then.
Frozen reflections sleep
Vanished flowers
Through irony
Heal hell.

2.
The wounds elicited hopes
To
Exhausted
stranded
onto the rocks of ancient seas
bring peace to the castaway.
They prolonged the eternal day
To one more wrathful hour.

3.
Have you not been brought by the departed
into dark regions
by the narrowness of heart?
Eat your own heart.
Let snow cover it.
The sight and breath return
After the strike of the matured essence.
Let Truth become essence to you
The quest
Pretty fresco carved
By the eye of the stern
Iced
Sun.

Premium Member Our Autobiography

finding ourselves here
awareness self-aware
ensouling form feeble
sensory touch external
our lower mind stirring
found ego urges rising
oft against conscience
throttling our innocence
reinforcing this torture
veiling love hues subtler
until we became dead
going where desires led
in cyclic joy and sorrow
fearful of the morrow
anchored in narrowness
living in stuporousness

over time we did realise
that love never does size
playful non-judgmental
ever vibrant and amiable
aglow moment to moment
in joy without abatement
continuum heart centric
imbibing currents eclectic
simply flowing like breeze
we embrace and release
when thoughts disappear
as waves of bliss spear
magically and osmotically
vivifying form beauteously
representing flow of life
devoid of ego borne strife

getting to this recognition
we opt for polarity rotation
resting thought fragmented
identity driven and limited
releasing flow of attention
in vibrant void of cessation
wherein in childlike trust go
wherever winds of love blow
with no trace of expectation
as also sense of anticipation
welcoming offered surprise
there being no ego to apprise
whereupon one with universe
aligned with the divine verse
thus in but not of this world
innate blissfulness unfurled

choosing to abide in silence
we rekindle loving innocence
as Gods essence boundless
ever entwined with oneness
this earth is our play centre
where in joy we may canter
mind body but an interface
being breathed by His grace
thus no doing need be done
save exiting ego stagnation
fixated not at any coordinate
tranquil in stillness sedate
melding head with our heart
with all one and none apart
is-ness of being-ness bliss
Gods hand continues to bless

Premium Member Krama: the Energy Path

before we amble
muse upon the preamble
that entity ascension seeking
is encased in mind body matrix limiting

we have for engagement two polarities
external turbidity internal serenity
former is domain of our ego
latter love osmosis slow

on an as is where is basis
we begin with our body chassis
going in within into our heart center
gently feeling so intuiting how joy canters

desires beget thought as of our affirmation
birthing dream worlds as manifestation
cessation then our path optimal
beholding within a miracle

silent witness our presence
senses stirrings of love innocence
felt distinctly in form as magnetic heat
ineffable throb of rapture that has us upbeat

a word of caution here about the energy path
unless each nuance felt as a holy sabbath
aspect acceptant thoughts decadent
cannot navigate the bliss precinct

ego grasps whilst love connects
thus our stance within must be erect
head and heart melded in quiet alignment
resonating with our conscience in contentment

reworded we may say that we must fully let go
of attachment borne cravings of our ego
for we are not this limited mind body
engulfed in narrowness shoddy

back to business joy magnetism
expands slowly bridging all chasms
chakras many but lets not instrumentalise
our child within delighting in unfolding surprise

suffice to mention once blockages are clear
throb of bliss within each pore spears
we be to become bliss essence
radiating love fragrance

The Cost of Zambia's Pettifoggery

We are quarreling over a graveyard of great ideas
Wandering under skies filled with flying political spears
Ideas are rotting under the soils dug by the unscrupulous
We buried our true identity and our mourning is pretentious

The commoners with good intentions are called riffraffs
The undereducated with concerns are labeled bellyachers
The elite have a sense of entitlement that exceeds their competency
The clergy have cloaks covering hands reaching out for the treasury

When Jesus tells us to pray in private, that’s when we fill up stadiums
Or that “Lord! Lord!” won’t get us to heaven, we still climb the podiums
Our inaction disguised as faith and oblivious to the endowment of freewill
We are blind to nature's blessings and God’s delegation of power for us to realise his earthly will

Amidst the vastness of our resources, blossoms a narrowness of minds
If challenges delay our goals, a compromise sprouts, as success gets undermined
Our failures don’t roll up our sleeves for more efforts but for belligerence
Our tongues have become viperous easily inciting division and violence

We are guilty of killing the messengers
We have silenced voices that threaten our favours and status
We prefer fellow tribesmen and forego what statesmanship seeks
Distrusting progress of shared thought and embracing the selfishness of cliques

More deceit continue to deface our identity
Take heed of the manipulation of verities
Individualism is not selfishness
Patriotism is not self-praise
Salvation is not prosperity
Electability is not authority
Our leaders are just a reflection of society
Changing the mirror won’t cure their corruptibility

Believe

Once upon my childhood, for God’s love there had to be fear

His comfort I sought only arms length to please

As I repeated Acts of Contrition on my knees

Through my grandmother’s glasses I could see her glare

I knew God was above and when we die so were we

Yet narrowness and rules spelled out misery, strife

In God’s name wars began such pain ends of life

My religion got cloudy as I searched to be free

My heart so torn, there’s more I believe

This earth which we live on simply one of the few

With such little we know can we be so naive?

Too many galaxies and moons scattered deep in the blue

My quest for more knowledge too much too conceive

My religion I let go.......but in God I believe

How To Become a Facist

How to Become a Fascist

Clan thinking and group thinking are always dangerous
Our loyalty to the group we belong to betrays us
Waving of flags makes us think we have the right on our side
We are blind to the downside of this certainty
We stop considering an alternative, our narrowness
Makes us think other people suffering is their fault
For not following our path of righteousness
When outsiders reject our way, we react with fury
We will, in the name of freedom (ours) and slay
Any opponent as an enemy of our holly values
we say we must protect ourselves against this villainy
our rationale is unconscious fascism.

Unquenchable

Nowhere to go, none to see.
All alone, all isolated i'm closeted
Darkness, blindness. No mercy's mine!
Disaster, disdain, self-mercy i'm inflicted.

Raised upon my soul i thee adorne i did this!
Punished with words i can't speak- dysmorphism
Pain is unquenchable, beyond unbeatable comforting touch.
None is mine to see, none to live for!

Hope I need, but No! none available.
Incurable it is, thus all i see is grinded hot lava of unquenchable pain!!!
Though I vision, I think shallowness of redemption and narrowness of pain.
Near of End, time to go.
Au revoir!!!
