Placed 2nd: Ethereal Lanterns Poetry Contest by Ink Empress

As the holy season commemorates revelations of scriptures, Sacred flame burning within, reinvigorates soul’s intellect, Steering away from the fallible, toward realms of perfect, Away from servitude of wealth, to caring for less-fortunate; Empowering wisdom, vying sapience of enlightenment, Inspiring collaboration in sanctity of spiritual exchange, Rejecting overtures nescient, engaged in narrowness, That confine humanity in fallacies unwitting, misguided. In domains of self-reflection, repentance, and forgiveness, Voice of indifference cedes to psalms compassionate, As defective acts vow to mend ways, yearning for flawless; Remorseful and empathetic, eying benevolence of solace. From teachings of awakening, from sagacity of harmony, Cognitive minds seek insights, transcendent in epiphany, Propelling life toward enrichment in peace and congruity, Vying spheres beyond the ordinary, edified in tranquility. From sanctum of souls, depths of hearts, bells-pious chime, Tolling expressions of kindness, echoing prayers sublime, Celebrating precious gift of life, grateful for glory of divine, As lanterns ethereal guide humanity, through reign of time.

Dear vijay, youv really captured what spirituality means and what holy days are in such a profound manner. Compassion kindness, charitable deeds and empathy, almost all the elements youv highlighted here and I absolutely love that about this poem, and the way your words hit so strongly is impeccable and powerful! I especially loved the line “ In domains of self-reflection, repentance, and forgiveness, Voice of indifference cedes to psalms compassionate” excellent! Pleasure reading this, congratulations

Vijay, this is a wonderful code of ethics. All the good things we'd like to see for humanity and society. We'd like to think that religious holidays will inspire our species to renew an effort to live in accordance with this code. I really like what you did with this one!

The tremendous effect that the holy moment has on the spirit is well captured in this outstanding poem, Vijay, which is a great representation of the season. The idea that one might have an inner flame that can lead to enlightenment and assist one in resisting temptations from the outside world is extraordinarily motivating.

Your poem was soul-riveting (if that makes sense) as it captured the essence of the Holy Season. So many wonderful lines, images and phrases that I don't know which one to pick as my favorite. I will say that the entire last verse resonated with me. Your rhyming words were perfect and your poem had such an uplifting cadence. Have to fav this one, Vijay. Have a great Easter weekend, Sara
