Muddle Through Silence

Once upon a time open windows, painted crimson, sealed shut
Words dancing in the bayside breeze blow aimlessly on by
Brilliant nighttime stars, holding a thousand wishes, no longer shine
A mirthless moon begrudgingly sits silently in the solemn sky
Another guardian angel loses her wings and cries

Crickets playing nightly treats, gone on a fishing trip
Too far away, even for the trained ear, to be heard
Twelve o'clock but the church bells are not ringing
Muddle through silence hearing every unsaid word
Even the clock on the wall has a song less bird

Quietly close my tear-filled eyes, a life in rewind
Lost, not a thought, no echoes in an empty mind

Premium Member Nutty

My nutty week stays long in my memory
My brain didn't process like it would normally
But just to be sure I now lay of the pink gin
I will share you my tale and shall now begin.

Paracetamol had been placed inside the freezer
Then found in the bread bin, the daily newspaper
My mouthwash was used as a face cleanser
Then sprayed underarms with the air freshener.

When cooking dinner I put no water in pans
Smoke and burnt offerings, so opened a soup can
Two hours of slow sewing, repairing some things
Only to discover I'd missed both sides of the seams.

Made tea instead of coffee, an easy mistake
But my feather head told me it's chocolate milk shake
Lucky that time the tea had cooled down
But annoyed with myself and felt a right clown.

Was I losing my marbles? why all the muddles?
That week I seemed in a right fuddy duddle
But the last straw came when I went to bed
I had slept on the floor of the garden shed.

The second stanza is true, I have done all that
The rest is made up for bit of spoof slap
But wanted a poem for the nutty contest
This I made up from my nutty mind set.

Mud Puddle Muddle

Why must mud puddles always be
Just sitting there in front of me?
Calm and still in sunlight’s flash
Inviting me to make a splash.
And why do I, though dressed for school,
Just wade right into this muddy pool?
To make mud pies and muddle muffins,
A make believe turkey with muddle stuffin’.
Somehow the mud moved here to there
From my shoes into my hair
From head to toe, I’m a muddy mess -
I tried not to, I tried my best.
And now my dog’s in here with me
Oh, what a messy sight to see.
My dog, who used to be so clean,
Covered with a muddy sheen,
Covered in a grayish brown
That used to be part of the ground.
And then as doggies always do
He shook and all that mud he threw
Muddy droplets every place
On my dress, in my face.
So I threw some mud on him
And then, my dog, he shook again.
I hear the school bus down the street
But the mud won’t let go of my feet.
I need some help with what to choose
Stay in the mud or lose my shoes.
Who are these children who can resist
The invite of a muddy tryst,
Can wait contently for the bus to school
Without jumping in this muddy pool?
When I get home, I’ll be in big trouble
Take a bath that will have to bubble
And I know it’ll happen again
Because “mud puddles are for jumpin’ in!!”

Why do some people

          Find self-destruction

So romantic? Why do

          I run to embrace death

When I am so terrified

          Of it? Just a moment's

Contemplation of the

          Stark realm obliviate is

Paralyzing, yet there

          Lies imperforate peace

With contemplation of

          Its dour welcome, to

Bury my face deep in

          Its bosom ... dark,

Warm, soft, peaceful

          Desuetude ... ruination.

March Muddle

Chimney smoke from the house a door down
Seems to have blurred out the moon
The step's a bit high for my short girl legs
But the closest one's coated in ice
Patchy powdered pixie sugar
Hides away crop circles
Melted lava sorbet spills
Across cold winter skies
The grayblue sky
A cherryblossom purplepink
The plants by the wall are frozen peas
I think of saxophones, shiver (SAIL!)
Thinking sideways, thoughts on meth
Orange peels and window flies
(SAIL!) the sad poet's gone away
(SAIL!) yes please, I'll take the lot
Sweating off the dull dead laze
But dehydration now objects
Cold dark sidewalk small bare feet
Winter storm the ice-coated bush
All leaves one question--
Where's the snow?

Impending impingement honesty;
Mystic muddle moods congruity moments;
Conscience  alignment conjunction rimes in;

Mind heart  joyous confidence;
Mystic muddle moods
My mind as for consciousness;

Alas, I let my mind not my heart rule my heart?
Imparting, what

The Middle Muddle

It is neither here nor there
‘Love’, heading nowhere
Somewhere between
Youthful passion
And aged restraint
At times, a little devil
At times, a little saint
The age wrong
The parties wrong
The wait- ever so long
That Hamlet like dilemma
‘To be or not to be’
“Willing to wound,
But afraid to strike,” you see
Those innocuous rendezvous
Apparently looking risky
‘Tarry’, she implores
But he,
Ever ready to flee
Should not be seen
Should not be observed
Thus, little of action
More of words
Want to know
‘What is it’?
Well, let’s call it
‘The Middle Muddle’
And, thus, a vain chase
For that love bubble

Muddle and Befuddle

Muddle and Befuddle

Up everything Trump always seems to muddle,
Which can become confusing and often befuddle;
There is no denying;
Wish he was dying,
So will have shipped him off after we scuttle.

Premium Member Human Perception

Human perception can vary from man to man
The mist may give us a beautiful scenery
In a strange place it looks like hiding evils and scandals
In politics it is a misty paradox to be revealed
In education we have to clear the misty puzzle
A life of ignorance is like wandering in mist and having a muddle
A misty love affair never fulfils a promise
Similarly
We men with limited perception
May not understand God
And so any slander is prohibited

Muddle Through

The world was always broken,
the madness is the truth,
but here amidst the broken,
we somehow muddle through.

At a young age
we think we can change the game,
march in the streets
and fight hard.
At that young age,
we think heaven can be made,
don’t get that far.

Somewhat older,
we think the world will smolder,
it won’t survive
what we are.
Somewhat older,
when all are growing colder,
we bear the scars.

The world was always broken,
the madness is the truth,
but here amidst the broken,
we somehow muddle through.

Come middle years,
we get hardened to the fears,
seen it before
long ago.
Come middle years,
we're too jaded for the tears,
so rarely flow.

Then elder days,
when there is so much to say,
a whole lifetime
makes it so.
The young ones bray,
won’t give you the time of day,
hear what you know…

The world was always broken,
the madness is the truth,
but here amidst the broken,
we somehow muddle through.

Muddle

I muddle through the day
like an old tire being
dragged out of a muddy pond.

Words and days come and go -
an expression fumbles
out of my mouth.
Just another day of tediousness
and exaggerations.

I would ask you to come
with me but I know
you'd never go back
to Idaho -
days upon days of snow
buckling the power lines
and rooftops.

I muddle through...

In a Muddle

Fell again today
Didn’t see the puddle
Fell deep and got wet
My heads in a muddle

Got out and couldn’t see
Where I was headed
Blinded by water
And started pretendin’

That I knew where I was
Going
And didn’t need any help
That my way was the right way
I was sick, yet thought I’m well

Fell for it again
And didn’t see it coming
Saw a flash of light
Thought, ‘ain’t that something?’

Fell again today
Didn’t see the puddle
Fell deep and got wet
My heads in a muddle

Marital Muddle

After years of research they now find
The cause of squabbles conjugal kind:
Culprit, the priest they hire—
He that feeds fuel to fire
Solemnizing marriage,
Villain of old vintage….
Today’s research: blind led by blind!
