Premium Member The Love Vase Broken

Was my son vindictive? My wife just stared at the sight!
There on the floor was the old ugly vase
My aunt Melinda gave us on our wedding day.
And my wife know how much love my son had for it.

Even though he may have broken it, I cannot help but forgive
For he has a special place in my heart,
Still, I feel the pain he caused to my wife,
And all because we had such a small tiff.

Wish I could see him now; I'll give him a piece of my mind,
But then I'll say I love you, and hold him in my arms.
Grudgingly would he mend the ugly vase?

There, he's back; it did not take him long. Guess what he said?
"Darling, that pesky cat has broken our vase."
A smile shone on his impish face.
Promptly, he handed me a new vase
A copy of one of my aunt Melinda's saved the day.

Five Generations Strong

Life is not about seeking fame & fortune
life is beautiful in so many other ways
life is family 5 generations strong
sharing memories & stories from beyond
passing truth & love from a special bond

When you have family who stand strong
who are there for you in your storm
you have all the ritches in the world
 golden treasures in eachother
 all apart of one another..

I Know I Messed Up

Im sorry girl but I know I ****ed up,
I know I can at times get so drunked up,
But truth is girl we got to go our own way and suck it up,
I love you still in my heart but we must part because its finished girl from the very start.
Love aint easy and that *****can get too hard but we must play a new hand dealt cards

You deserve better than me Melinda because I might just drag us both down to the dirt ground left in the dark with silence no sound from both mine to your town........Im sorry Melinda Rose
but love dies when it ceases to no longer grow
you see me less and less until the forever show
My love for someone different now is a choice I choose
I will miss your sweet red hair all the way to your nubby little toes
but remember Melinda Rose
our love can only die when it CEASES TO GROW .........

Death of a Vagrant

Death of a Vagrant

I am your mother, hold out your hand
Trace the lines of fate, tragic, pre-planned
You’re exhausted and empty, tired and cold
Fingers yellow with smoke, clothes smell of mould,
Frail body so white, with face so tanned
Begging for scraps, the life of the damned

You do not judge, but are cruelly measured
Your memories of her, still secretly treasured
Now I am here, it is time to go
I am your mother

You grew up fast, you grew up strong
Your head held high, your stride long,
How you have changed, my son, now sadly reviled
Hold on tight now - my lost and found child
I am here to take you to home.
I am your mother.

Tgif

TGIF, TGIF, TGIF, TGIF;
Four letters and my best friends.
"You go next,"
Into the chasing room I went.
I came out after some moments, "What a lovely red dress,"
Melinda said,
And they all agreed - yes.
I thought to myself I definitely want it,
I am definitely getting it.
As I went back in...
"It's horrible on her," Melinda said,
And they all laughed.
What was that I heard?
I went back in to take it off me,
I looked in the mirror at my not-completely-naked body,
And then I cried.
How could they have lied?
I thought back to five Fridays ago,
Did they lie then also?
How bad have I been dressing?
"Hurry up, Mel!" Tina shouted.
With how I feel, this room I won't leave.
*Knock, knock*
I wonder who that this...
*Knock, knock*
"WE'RE LEAVING!!"
TG... Thank God they are gone,
I don't need friends like this.

Premium Member Vanilla Twilight

Vanilla twilight
runs down my fingers
As I lick them
I think of you
And don't feel so alone

Come walk with me
Thru the cold November rain
Come stay with me
Because I needed time
Remember when it was like paradise

Let's walk the garden path of love
I think I saw you try to love me
Even when you see it's not me

She was damaged
and he did not care
he loved her anyway
It made no difference to him
She made his heart beat
way deep down inside

Melinda

She walks the streets of the French Quarter each night at three am.
They named her Melinda, in this, Her Immortal Life.
Melinda knows that you, like so many others before,
will happily fall victim under her crimson eyes.
As the witching hour nears, she is frenzied with the thought of
      bloodletting.

Melinda, my vampire twin, waits by the gate of a New Orleans cemetery.
The busy streets starting to empty, the last notes of a Tom Waits song
      fades to black.
An unsuspecting young man decides to take a shortcut to his hotel...
Melinda, crouched, head tilted to the night sky, fangs bared.....
turns him with the swift motion of thunder impending wind.

Another now walks among us.
Melinda did not choose immortality, but has embraced it.
And so, my bloodletting twin still roams the streets of the French Quarter.....
       beautiful and thirsty.

Premium Member I Have No Time

I have no time Melinda argues
You need to take time for you, we tell her.
I am way to busy! She shrieks.
She is on her own last nerve.
We see it.

One aunt says she will watch the two-year-old twins.
A great-grandma offers to take the new baby home for the day.
Grandma wants to do her laundry.
We are all rebuffed.
Melinda is the only one who can do any of that.
She is frazzled, frenzied, and frantic.

We have seen postpartum before.
You really need to take some time for yourself we tell her.
A doctor’s visit might be in the works.
I am too busy! Melinda argues. “I cannot see a doctor!”
We are at a loss.
We cannot force a grown woman to take time for herself.
To relax, take a bath, play soft music.
Sadly, her entire family is suffering now.

Memories

Looking through the memories
I've kept all this time,
Thinking of all the things we did
When you used to be mine.

Everything I could find
That reminded me of you,
I kept very deep in my heart
With memories old, yet ever new.

We used to have a lot of fun,
I hate to see it end.
It's gonna take a lot of time
For my broken heart to mend.

Even though we never expressed
Our feelings for each other,
I can honestly say I love you
Like I have never loved another.

I guess my love, it's time to go.
I've said all that I can say.
Just remember one more thing for me,
I love you more each day.

Summer's Sun

The summer sun brought a new kind of love into our lives,
And it made us both shine -
something neither one of us had done
In a long time.

We both fell too hard,
Discovering something that was unknown to us.
We found joy, happiness, and even love.
It was so beautiful.
We went through so much together in the short time you were here.

We had fun-lots of fun.
We laughed and cried together,
sharing secrets with one another.

I can honestly say you were the first person I ever fell in love with.
But we just didn't make it.
What went wrong?
Were we too serious?
I loved you so much and we were so happy together,
But it just wasn't enough.

What is enough?
More love? More laughter?
We never had the chance to find out.

You're gone now, I'm sorry to say.
You've begun a new life and
I'm still here picking up the pieces-
Still living for yesterday
When you were here with me -
Loving me and needing me.

So what now?
I still love you very much and
There will always be a special place for you in my heart.
Winter's coming on now and
I must leave the memories behind and
Begin a new life of my own,
And wait for spring -
The dawning of a new love.

I hope we have the chance to meet again
So we can pick up where it ended,
But until then just remember
I love you and please be happy.

God bless the summer sun
And all the love and happiness it brings.

The Waterbed Sea

The Waterbed Sea

Melinda went to sleep in her waterbed,
(Not on it, but in it, is what I said,)
Took not a mask, not a snorkel nor fin,
Just a deep breath
and she jumped right in.

//Swim, sweet Melinda,
Swim peacefully,
Down to the bottom
Of the Waterbed Sea. //

Down down swam Melinda in the Waterbed Sea,
Past tiny Guppies and the Abalone,
Past pirate ships sunken long ago,
With pirate crews singing “Yo ho ho!”

Down where the Mollies and the Mullets play,
Down where the Minnows dart, and grasses sway,
Where Starfish twinkle in the Waterbed Sky,
While Mermaids sing a lolly lullaby.

And little Seahorses pulling little sea carts,
Filled with pretty flowers from the flower marts,
Showered her with petals, filling all the Sea
With Irises and Roses and Anemone.

Down past the bottom of the Wishing Wells,
Where all wishes go that one never tells,
There swam Melinda so contentedly,
Down to the bottom of the Waterbed Sea!

The Sea Lions roared, the Salmon spawned,
The Skate skated by, and the Oysters yawned,
The Porgies and Bass sang songs of The Deep,
And soon sweet Melinda would be fast asleep.

Down, down she floated to her Oyster bed,
With soft pink Sponges pillowing her head,
A seaweed blanket kept her nice and warm,
And all the Angel Fishes guarded her from harm.

//Sleep, sweet Melinda,
Sleep peacefully,
There at the bottom
Of the Waterbed Sea. //

The Beginning of a New Life

This is the first day
Of the beginning of my life,
This is the start
Of a long, hard strife.

Getting over you will
Surely be hard to do.
But I can't go on like this,
I have to live my life too.

I thought I knew you
Well enough to know,
The longer I stayed,
The more our love would grow.

But now I must leave you,
It's gonna be tough.
But if I stay longer,
I'm gonna get hurt.

I want you to know
I'll always be here,
To lend a shoulder or
To dry your tears.

I want you to be happy
And I hope you will find
Someone who is special,
Warm, loving, and kind.

Now I have to say good-bye,
I have to start out new.
But no matter where I go,
I'll always remember you.

Take Care.
I love you.
Good-bye.

My Dear

There was a time
In the past
When I thought our love
Would surely last.

I knew I was ready
To settle down.
But you still wanted
To run around.

I waited and waited,
It seemed like forever,
For that special day when
We would be together.

But then something happened,
That day never came.
You've decided to give
Someone else your name.

Now I understand
I wasn't the one,
You would come back to
When you wanted love.

I'm sorry my dear,
This time I can't wait.
I have to move on
Before it's too late.

I hope you have found
Your someone special
That no one else could be.
But if not,
I want you to know
You can always come back to me.

Melinda's Face

Gentle kissing can’t erase
The rumble of the quiet
Violence that rocks your face,
Erupting in a riot.

Revealing feelings cannot be
A very easy task;
My poor Melinda, now I see
Why you once wore a mask.
