Lifesong
This is my song.
It strums the notes
that are rooted
within my being
These cords
filled with love
surround me
carried on wings
to the heavens
swirling about
to engulf
those around me
The melody
plays soft
in the valley low
and echo loudly
the joys
of mountains climbed
Overflowing
my song
springs forth
branching out
its welcome
to those I adore.
Nyx opened black arms
threading her twilight fingers
and cradled my awe
to turn my hair, white
she filled my eyes with stars
firing a comet to
the core of my heart
my second breathe
carved dragons of fire,
as Aeolus filled each lung,
Terpsikhore sang music
into the life and death
of this epic
~~~~~
I taste a southerly breeze
catching it on the tip of my tongue
rolling it into my lungs
I sing appegio
to throw a shadow of night
the circle of her arms
has tightened,
and the nebula
in my eyes,
threaten to shoot
from their sockets
I have finally
felt the meteor
lodged in my heart,
move in its longing
for one last blaze
of release,
only the breath of God,
holds for revelation
TERPSIKHORE (or Terpsichore) was one of the nine Mousai,
the goddesses of music, song and dance. In late classical times
--when the Muses were assigned specific literary and artistic
spheres--Terpsikhore was named Muse of choral song and
dancing, and represented with a plectrum and lyre.
AIOLOS (or Aeolus) was the king of the winds who kept the
stormy Anemoi Thuellai and Aellai locked away inside the hollow
heart of the floating island of Aiolia. At the command of the gods
he released these to wreck devastating storms. Since the Winds
were often conceived of as horse-shaped spirits, Aiolos was titled
Hippotades, "the reiner of horses," from the Greek hippos ("horse")
and tadên ("reined in tightly").
I yearn for truth in the deep
recess of my soul,
for truth is a song celebrating life,
and life is the composition of all things.
I yearn for knowledge,
for without knowledge truth would
not be, and error would not be know,
for error is a song out of tune.
I yearn for wisdom,
for wisdom is a child in humble
access of truth,
having knowledge of error to correct
the unsung.
I yearn for peace,
peace is a free bird flying in
the open sky,
a joy to behold in perilous night
caressing the wind of time.
I have two sides to my ability much wickegery,
Sometimes i be on deep space nine with unlimited imagery,
My mentality is too far gone you cant catch it,
Im a poet and a rapper combined my mind wont let me forget it,
Sometimes i start off in a song format and i resist it,
I want the poet to supercede my thoughts cause thats the ticket,
I love to write a song and a poem i love to do them both,
In a Poem you can walk through my life its me and you up close,
Its all poetry though whats different is how you deliver,
Its like a fight between what fake (hiphop) and whats real (poetry) i need a mind sitter,
Its a everyday struggle with words i need to decide,
Which of the 2 thought processes im gonna run with and take that ride.
morning brought an arcane song to my ears
i was observing the spilling of light
between the curtain and the wall
the way the light seemed to carry the dust
when my quite moment
was dispatched
by the sensation of the earth and
its 30 km/ps rate of motion
by comparison
i wasn't even a mite
on an elephants eyelash
i was a microbe
riding on a rock
on a massive migration through space
my body became filled with avidity-
something was about to happen
the dam was made of mud
and it was monsoon season
looking into the hallway mirror
i was astonished to see the image inside
was not me
this was some type of apparition
a ghost
that belonged to someone else
the electrons in my brain swirled
forming the loose pattern of wafting smoke
an electrified current
all of this energy
shot past the sleeping dogs
though the house
pierced the atmosphere
then outward into the deep vastness of the heavens
a remarkable paroxysm and
i was back with myself
yet
i felt subtly metamorphosed
looking around,
all of the stuff
i had worked so diligently
to acquire
took on a look of being frivolous
unnecessary
it was all the programming of someone else
the whims of a schizophrenic
with vainglorious proclivities
a booming voice announces:
if you do not abide to the constructs
of this lovely societal aggregation
you are an outcast
a luddite
a nihilist
a lost soul
a demagogue
a loser
a shoe shiner
a sewage swiller
weak,
pathetic,
unable to assimilate
due to anachronistic tendencies
...
we have viewed into the aperture
that gives a glimpse
of both dissonnant living and
ways to slough off the insanity
but
we are controlled by dna's unblinking eyes
we make love and war simultaneously
we are the amalgamation of genes we conspire against
dna spirals up my spine
then feathers across my neurons
entrenching its fingers into my convolutions
i am the product of a mad scientist
who has designed me with used atoms
from distant, dead stars
i breathe oxygen
that have been around since the birth
of the universe
yet,
despite it all,
these animated atomic miracles
have fought to keep us all held together
so that we may witness the splendor
of being alive
the morning song wasn't so veiled after all
what to do what to say
nothing seems to go my way
i feel lost and confused but what can i do
should i cry? should i hide? or pretend nothing is wrong?
i hate listening to the same song that you sing
because after the millionth time it doesn't mean a thing
i shouted! i screamed! but what does that mean to you?
nothing. because YOU didn't hear me
you only care about what you say
everything else just vanishes away
like me. what should i do?
I'm going to forget you like how you forgotten me?
I've tried my whole life to forget you
to act like YOU never meant anything to me!
but every time you sung that song i was hooked again and again
to once again play the addicting game of pretend
but i can no longer hide the pain
its burying me alive with each fallen tear
tired of that song that you sing so dear
but i know after saying this to you
tomorrow it will just be a another round of what to do...
A Songs Creation
Lives compassion, is shown to us in favor
Granting us with time and moments to savor,
Gifting us this occasion, but only for so long,
Only once will you be able to sing your song,
So choose your notes in the right key,
Ones for you, they are not for me,
Select lyrics suited with exceptional merit,
For they will define the character of your spirit,
Find your chords within zealous endeavors,
So they may stay with you in the forevers,
Play your melody in tempo with your soul,
So when you sing your song you will always feel whole,
For everyone, sing your song each day, with heartfelt elation,
So all may hear the celebration,
Of a life that is a songs creation.
Here from my waist, going sailing on for glowing flowing miles---
O beautiful waving gold, O giant Wheat,
My work of thought and hand and ringing dusty sreel,
My ocean of sunlight under the blue sky;
O Wealthy Solitude, perfectioning of love,
My real world's self, promised, fulfilled.
Yes, O Wind, now lightly
Flare out your melodies on these yellow fields,
Earth staff and I bar.
Stir and sway along in holy song of soil and you,
And my great deed between.
O Royalest Song I see,
Whirling away like a hymn from me,
I made you possible, and you fill me,
All around me, waltzing of sweet heads o'er,
Hearing the great plain floor,
"Whispering wonder, glad to be under,
The world's good, this lover of man."
Now soon to burn in long hours of thinking,
In the fueling of builders for the towering towns,
Yes! and with grandest statues of heroic manhood---
Soon! O Wheat, soon!
And one a woman, lookin up, proud, independent.
For rational ideas have been sown,
And very real people choose light,
And the glory of life is re-known,
And the wave of the world is bright.
O Song sailing at my waist,
Waiting my word of thought, my hand, my whirling machine,
My joy of triumph and my love of work;
O Life cresting at my waist,
My Own!
I can hear the bells
From across the town
Just to hear them ring
Can make my heart swell
The sound comes to me
On the warm desert air
A sound unmistakable
A joyful melody
I can hear the bells
Oh to be right there
Near the church when they play
To watch the people stop
As if the sound were so rare
It seeps inside of you
You can feel each tone
In a special caress
One that you never knew
I can hear the bells
For the newlyweds
The bells peal the wedding song
To announce to one and all
That they have made a pledge
But when a soul has passed
The bells seem to weep
They sing out their grief
With their ambiance
I can hear the bells
There are two special times
When the bells outdo themselves
One to ring in His birth
One to herald that He rose
There will come a day
When the bells will cry for me
A sad and lonely song they’ll send
Over the town and valley
Will you hear the bells
