Premium Member A Lean New Year

I let out a scream when I stand on the scales -
the bitter truth, I’ve joined the species of whales!
I plan to go on a new weight loss diet
food is grilled, you must never fry it!

Those pre packed diet foods are such a racket
there’s more nutrients in the cardboard packet
I’ll be enrolling at the local gym
and with luck I’ll be thin as a pin

I’m going to take up weight lifting
and think of the pounds I’ll be shifting
In my Lycra I’ll cut such a dash
I hope I don’t get a nasty sweat rash!

I’ll give up candy and drinking root beer
Looks like I’m in for a depressing year!

Premium Member Lean On Me

lay your head on my shoulder
feel free to cry, but know I care
if you shake, I will steady you
if you fall, I’ll lift you

dependability and loyalty
my most valued qualities
never ignoring a friend in need
          always offering reassurance

the nicest thing ever said to me:
“What you see is what you get”
no pretense, no delusions of grandeur
just a friend who has your back

wealth and fame I do not seek
but crushed I’d be
     devastated if I weren’t there
         when a friend required help

Lean On Me

Leanne loves milking her cows
Everyday she dreams of those cows when she is away
A noise she hears
Nay says the horse, Nay says the cows
Nay says Linda, Nay says James
Everyday she hears voices

LEANne on me.....

Please bare a moment to pray and have thought for the dairy farmers in the world :-(

You Can Lean On Me

His mind was like a snail crawling slowly on the ground.
He was behind, confused and lost in his venture to learn.
So many obstacles stood in the way of this little child.
To overcome them, he never once did try.

He gave up too easily without a fight.
He thought less of himself every day and night.
Opportunity does not knock; it just presents itself at the door.
But little did this child know.

He needed motivation to try and move on.
He needed a friend or someone.
He needed to learn how to apply his ability
to grab hold of every opportunity.

His first step to success began with this friend,
who took his hand and guide him to the end.
The words his friend had spoken were his success key,
“Here’s my shoulder, you can lean on me.”

Premium Member Maternal Lean

For My Darling Sister, My Punky
My love for you now aches with an acute, piercing concern.
I feel your emotions shudder inside my own heart’s downturn.
Lean on me, let me absorb your aches as maternal will not break.

You are so precious to me, I would rather life's painful strikes
seek me than witness them blister you with their insistence.
Lean on me, let our combined hearts and smarts find answers.

Know without judgment, fear, or derision, I will lovingly listen
to your broken bits unfurl in plight's reveal of your soul's mission.
Lean on me, for I attended the same hellish multi-themed lessons.

The Lean Old Men

The lean old men in my vicinity
wake to find themselves a day older
then turn away from the mirror to reflect
on their miserable circumstance.
Then they masque their decay with cologne,
snap on their one-piece spandex sportswear
and wheel off to meet their ancient colleagues for tea.

Along the way they blast glances at a car
that dares to edge past with its foul exhaustion
until at last, snapping locks onto spoked wheels,
the knights errant mingle at tea, glorious
in their molded aerodynamic helmets.

They are one for all, and all for themselves,
and their speed dials connect to the bank, the spa,
the athletic wear store, the restaurant, and the escort service,
for after their sweat grey romp across town,
they whirl into the finest hotels by the harbor where they strip, shower,
wrap their wrinkles in snow white terry towel shrouds,
and await the knock of their Tuesday morning girl.

From their Victorian styled suites with golden phones for service
they call their brokers and shuffle stocks in their decks till
check-out time. They glare at an insouciant desk clerk
whose obeisance has not been forthcoming and, quickly insulted,
call the general manager and have her job, as promised.

Long, long is the bicycle ride home that stops them for the evening.
wife the third proffers white wine in fluted crystal, laments her
feverish responsibilities as a Matron of the Arts (ignored, of course
by the lean old men who slide into their pyjama suits
and slumber by the fire while Rachmaninoff plays his Second.)

They will die—just not today,
for tomorrow is still their fat child,
waiting to be eaten.

Words Aren'T the Tree To Lean On

I'm not abnormal
just different kind of normal

through my chambers
tantalized horse is storming
(storms make trees take deeper roots)

Dolly's vinyl began skipping
so my God put his paper hat on

that God of mine wears a paper hat
and you wear the fear the same way

we all have rooted fears
above which ingrained branches furcate
designing modular shadows to be tailored upon

yet my symmetrical reasoning
keeps on coloring that infested resonance
enveloping skin in barbed tape
hoping that loosen blood
will make a liquid embankment around integrated Thanatos
as no one ever comes forward to the bleeding ones

but human embodiment is a marvel
like river it breaks its way through to the subsistence
so harbored will of mine constructed a timber
upon which singleness can find its rest
until encounters her similarly aberrant soil

I Need To Lean On Jesus

I need to lean on Jesus.
 More and more!
 He’s gives hope and
is worth living for!

I need to lean on Jesus.
My life depends on it.
It’s one thing to say it.
Another to live it!

I need to lean on Jesus. There may not
 be a tomorrow…
The time that I do have
is already “borrowed…”

I need to lean on Jesus. This is
 the best choice!
I want to listen to his
“still small voice.”

I need to lean on Jesus. He give
 true meaning.
Into his arms of love is where
 I must be leaning!

I need to lean on Jesus In him
 I’ll find fulfillment.
His loves brings true Godly joy
and contentment!

I need to lean on Jesus. Giving him
all of my time…
He’s so loving, gentle,
patient and kind!

I need to lean on Jesus. And give him
 full control…
I know he’s with me
wherever I may go!

I need to lean on Jesus.
 I’ll do it right now!
I come before him with my life
 and I humbly bow…

Premium Member Limerick: Once a Lean Lecher In His Nineties

Limerick: Once a lean Lecher in his nineties

Once a lean Lecher in his nineties
Wondered if he could relive his twenties:
He went on a diet
Of French fries and cutlet:
The Wench said it felt like rigor mortis !

Lean Times

Lean Times
When times are lean and mean I have to conserve
I rely on pocket change in reserve
Like pennies, dimes and quarters
Times like these I might loiter
Anything to fill my tank and preserve

Lean On Me

Today is not a good day for you
and this makes me sad
because I feel for you in my heart
this makes me feel bad

Just come to me
and let me hold you
in my arms
I am here to offer you hope
this is not a false alarm

please don't be sad and lonely
cause you don't have to be
I know that it's hard for you
because you miss your family

I just want to be near you
and know that you'll be okay
just close your eyes and open your
heart and let the words replay

Lay your head on my shoulder
while I offer comfort to you
let me be your shelter
and I will help you through

All you need to know is that
I genuinely care
Let me hold you in my arms as
I caress your hair

I really do understand
what you are going through
and it just breaks my heart
I want to be there for you

Premium Member Lean Jean

Once knew a gal named Lean Jean
The skinniest young chickie ever seen
When she turned to the side
Wondered where she did hide
Even her shadow disappeared from the scene
