the snow falls
and blows;
yet silent skies still
remain empty
surrendering
to the broom
of the wind—
the wind
sweeping
frail flakes asunder;
reclaiming
demurred dusty desires—
yet frozen sheets
refuse to succumb
to ironing winds
of time’s bed
and its juxtaposed
spread—
steadfast slip stretched:
