I, Lazarus

I, Lazarus*, have seen the brickwork sky,
Its throne is made of night!
Its salt and lime are drying to the eye,
My wandering…
a sound! a rumble, and a flash of light!

HHHHHHH! How sweet first breath!
That tasting life had tasted only death!

And what is THIS, that thuds against my tomb?
Awaken, Heart! And greet thy new-found groom!

Who is HE, that speaks with sudden waking,
As though forgotten dawn was newly breaking?

I cannot know, though memory tells me so,
I am a Man, and not a man of dough!

O bright the door that leads me back to life!
But, bidden! I must change my sleep for strife!

Thank you, heart-friend!
I thought that you’d forgot!
Who made me breathe, ‘I AM!’ when I was not.

Forgive! I cannot hear, my head’s like snow,
AH! That’s it, ‘loose the man, and let him go!'

My tale is from the time of Rome
Away across the sea
The tale of one called Jesus Christ
From distant Galilee

He placed Himself at God's command
Accepting all His will
Accomplishing the work of God
From Tyre to Olive's hill

He walked the streets and sailed the seas
He healed the blind and lame
Since Jesus came and changed the world
It's never been the same

He hung upon a cross of wood
To save from Adam's fate
He lived and worked among the poor
And died in low estate

He turned the world right upside-down
With nothing but His love
And now He watches us with care
From heaven's court above

The Lion of Judah

In Gilead he's the balm
That makes any sickness calm;
In Isreal he's the consolation
That restores all desolation.

In Judah he's the Lion
That keeps watch over Zion;
In Galilee he's the miracle founder
That makes Jerusalem wonder.

On earth he's the spring of salvation
That satisfies spiritual starvation.
He's the source of light
That gives all sight.

To me, he's the owner of my soul
That makes me whole;
He's my unfailing life giver
That floods my life with joy as river.

Soul Sounding

I have felt my soul
    Solid
Within me
 Lighten,
      Ascend
          Into God’s focus

  Into communion
  That all my spirit and being
Be known by Him…

Thus, often I have heard
  My soul to coo, to whisper,
To resounging sing “Alleluia!”

But
Many battles have come
  So my soul shouted — imploring —
    Though wordless, more
      — like a fledging’s shrieks
And
In many hours of weakness
I have Felt and Heard my soul’s
    g r o a n i n g

    that all-being, transcening,
    supplicating weeping
Always answered by ABBA’s strengthening
    Enfolding.
Then
In this extreme physical pain,
In this recent onslaught of unknowns new
    that finds me weak and meek
    facing giants who claim rule over my limbs,..

Yesterday,..
Twice
As they were treating me,
I heard my soul — low and constant —
    g r o w l i n g

About which I had to seek biblical reference,
  because in anger, growling is sinful.
Tho, I say truly and newly within
My soul’s so sounding there was the comforting
   No words could speak.
Was the interior presence and noticed warmth
Of a kind of Mother Lioness
Shielding

Which i actually envisioned while I heard
   and felt the gutteral sounds;
While I heard people there in the room
  say, “Buck-up, Sally.  Hush!”
About which I did feel quick anger,
For i could not have been trying any harder
With my tried and weakened strength;
Trying to keep my body still —
All my remaining efforts being spent in prayer,
Repeating, “Lord, have mercy.”

There was in fact
Comfort
  Coming

    Like a blanket, covering.

My soul’s defending, guarding, audibly

— Growling —

  (Interior notes-of my mothering God,
    newly known, as never before, consciously within me)
Lion of Judah…Beckoned Lioness
Over the soul, Christ within…

        I heard growl…

“Wrong will be right when Aslan comes in sight,
At the sound of his roar, sorrow will be no more,
When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death,
And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again.”
     – Mr. Beaver (The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe)

THE LION OF JUDAH

Majestic mane - wind pets the fur
where no earthling can stroke.
His roar like thunder-blast, no purr -
sacrificed lamb awoke.

Lion couches in paradise -
Fierce and fearless; revered
His life for ours - the purchase price.
Christ rose…and interfered

with mock-lion - serpent unmasked.
Judah’s great paw strikes head
of the venomous snake, as tasked.
Man born, reborn…sin’s dead.

Terror to ears, frenzy of brain -
fearsome to all mortals.
Pleasing to His; drives lost insane.
Each to his own portals.

In end, all will bow at His throne
by roar of His sceptre -
Jesus Christ’s name, no greater known.
His chosen Bride - He rewards her.

Premium Member David In the Wilderness of Judah -Psalm 63

David here is found in the wilderness
in a parched, weary and dry land
here he confesses that God is his
his soul thirsts for the Lord among sand

Here the Psalmist shows he's distant
from God and God's blessings upon him
prayer, Bible, Church, communion the lot
practise not these make one spiritually dim

Why is this? sometimes there's no answer
for the desires are God's but we go wrong route
David confesses God's love better than life
to God and himself, such is this blessed fruit

There is a secret, to keep singing
in the pursuit after God to find
though the joy won't always come first
always crucial stay with it keep in mind

Whatever happens, have confidence in God
as David did always to rejoice
but he pointed to a greater King Jesus
the satisfier of our soul hear His voice

PSALM 63 (ESV)
(O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you;
   my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
   as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,
   beholding your power and glory.
Because your steadfast love is better than life,
   my lips will praise you.
So I will bless you as long as I live;
   in your name, I will lift up my hands.

My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food,
   and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips,
when I remember you upon my bed,
   and meditate on you in the watches of the night;
for you have been my help,
   and in the shadow of your wings, I will sing for joy.
My soul clings to you;
   your right hand upholds me.

But those who seek to destroy my life
   shall go down into the depths of the earth;
they shall be given over to the power of the sword;
   they shall be a portion for jackals.
But the king shall rejoice in God;
   all who swear by him shall exult,
   for the mouths of liars will be stopped.)

Premium Member Judah and Tamar

This tale is most unusual; you may not know it well.
Seems Judah got himself a wife; her name’s not in the tell.
He knew her and she bore three sons: Shelah, Onan, and Er.
Now Er was first, the oldest son, and Shelah, the younger.

Then Judah found a gal for Er; yes Tamar was his wife.
But Er was wicked in God’s sight, so God then took Er’s life.
Now custom said that Onan would for Er produce a son
So he took Tamar as his wife, but wouldn’t get her done.

For each time they were intimate, ’twas said he spilled his seed.
So God now put Onan to death, for evil was his deed.
So Judah promises Tamar Shelah will be her mate,
But he is not yet old enough, so she will have to wait.

The years go by, but Judah has not done that which he should,
So Tamar takes things in her hands to make sure that he would.
She covers up her face one day and sits out by the gate.
When Judah sees her sitting there, “A prostitute! That’s great!”

So they begin to bargain for his right to do his thing;
The price, a goat, collateral: his staff and signet ring.
And so then Judah lays with her, and right off, she conceives.
And then the widow returns home, continuing to grieve.

Well, Judah wants his signet back and sends the goat as pledged,
But none can find this prostitute of whom he has alleged.
When they report she can’t be found, then Judah shrugs it off,
“Just let her keep the signet ring; if word gets out, they’ll scoff.”

It seems that in a few short months, ’twas clear she was with child.
Judah demanded she be burned, a fact that’s pretty wild.
Okay for him to sleep around, but not her in her grief,
But even as they dragged her out, she worked out her relief.

“The man who got me in this way gave me this staff and ring.”
When Judah heard, he was ashamed; he knew her not again.
“For she’s more righteous than I am; I did not give my son.”
When Tamar finally gave birth, ’twas twins she had, not one.

And when the boys were born, she named them Zerah and Perez.
In Jesus’ family tree: Perez! Yes, that’s what Matthew says.

Genesis 49:8-12 NIV?
[8] “Judah, your brothers will praise you; your hand will be on the neck of your enemies; your father’s sons will bow down to you. [9] You are a lion’s cub, Judah; you return from the prey, my son. Like a lion he crouches and lies down, like a lioness—who dares to rouse him? [10] The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until he to whom it belongs shall come and the obedience of the nations shall be his. [11] He will tether his donkey to a vine, his colt to the choicest branch; he will wash his garments in wine, his robes in the blood of grapes. [12] His eyes will be darker than wine, his teeth whiter than milk.
?Isaiah 65:9 NIV?
[9] I will bring forth descendants from Jacob, and from Judah those who will possess my mountains; my chosen people will inherit them, and there will my servants live.
Jeremiah 33:14-16 NIV?
[14] “ ‘The days are coming,’ declares the Lord, ‘when I will fulfill the good promise I made to the people of Israel and Judah. [15] “ ‘In those days and at that time I will make a righteous Branch sprout from David’s line; he will do what is just and right in the land. [16] In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will live in safety. This is the name by which it will be called: The Lord Our Righteous Savior.’
?Luke 2:4-5 NIV?
[4] So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. [5] He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.
?Zechariah 10:4 NIV?
[4] From Judah will come the cornerstone, from him the tent peg, from him the battle bow, from him every ruler.
?Mark 12:10 NIV?
[10] Haven’t you read this passage of Scripture: “ ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone;
?Ephesians 2:20-22 NIV?
[20] built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. [21] In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. [22] And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

Man of Judah

Man of Judah
The priceless gem who came to lay
Innocent and sinless lamb that came to save
Born for us thousand years ago in a day
As everyone is redeemed through His grace

Man of Judah
The son of David heart of God
Gave all and came unto earth
Saviour of mankind and the only lord
Who freed us from every bondage and nest

Man of Judah
The only divine who raises from the dead
Came unto you aand I for a bread
But we turned Him away due to fear
What others will say about us there

Man of Judah
Speared on the cross for our own sake
Wiped on the way to calvary till stake
Nailed to the cross in agoy of bitterness
Just for us to have an everlasting happiness

Man of Judah
The saviour of mankind
Keep calling us into his fold to bind
And to keep is under His father's wing for eternity
And also enjoy His unfailing grace in sanity

Man of Judah
Still keeps crying for the lost souls
As He preaches to them to join His fold
As to be washed in His blood and be made whole
As their light shines and beams in fold
