We see ourselves unimpeded initially

Some are stricken with a view artificially

We are told by others very specifically

There is a ceiling so proceed timidly

We try in vain with no support futilely

As we age blazing the path dizzily

Sometimes we see the results dismally

Eventually we learn to climb skillfully

We began to achieve sufficiently

Eventually finding success brilliantly

Living life with dreams so vividly

Sadly, a haunting voice still speaks flippantly

Reminding us of the ceiling frigidly

We remain in the arena mistily

Each overcautious step taken judicially

We endure the voice shouting viciously

The battle to continue is done willfully

His mind is dark,
like a night sky without stars.
Doubt sits upon his shoulders,
poking at his face,
irritating his mind,
interrupting his thoughts,
outrunning his words -
laughing at him hysterically.

Demons slay his self belief,
echoing like mountainous valleys.
Playing with his insecurities.
Manic voices vibrate in a percussion of shrieking,
like jesters juggling with his sanity.

Sweaty palms and heavy feet,
leave his tongue cemented,
like a block of concrete.
Curtains ascend slowly.
Microphone has no mercy.

Silence awaits,
as audience anticipate.
His petrified eyes attempt
to ignore hundreds of faces,
focusing at him.

He fumbles and mumbles
apologises and starts again.
Closes his eyes,
to find his special, sacred place.
His hidden spirit roars, as audience gasp.
His soul rises like king Arthur's sword,
releasing the thunder, trapped inside.
Doubt plummets to the ground.
His words strike like lightening,
defeating demons into silence.

Audience applaud in elation.
For a moment he smiles,
but then doubt and demons re-emerge.
Bullying his self esteem,
murdering his short lived joy.

He sits in silence,
wondering what is the point...

Falling In Love With a Photo

My Notes: You May find it difficult to understand the situation in this poem, so did I, but not in the reading. I’m a hack Poet at best, which is why I didn’t submit it in the contest about rising above reality. When I finish the short story on the events this poem is based it will be come apparent, and like me you will say; “WHAT?” .

BIO MODIFIED – CONCEITED IMPOSTER

Conceited
A poet a playwright, an actor and dreamer.
I love my reflection, a challenge, applause.
I’ve thought of a screenplay, a sit-com and novel.
I feel I am perfect, a genius, appealing.
I fear I’ll be wrong on all three of those feelings.
I’d like to write music, to sing and to dance.
A resident of dreamland, I don’t have a chance.

Sandy Hook Elementary Imposter, Fake Father Robbie Parker

* A tale of a charlatan, caught pretending to be a father of a Newton Massacre
Victim----(feel free to view his hyperbole on Youtube, search Robbie Parker
Interview)

This place is not big on naming names, but you sir, are despicable! Usurp
nightmares of another. Charlatan! How can you do what you do, there, bold
face lying for world news cameras. You, the very reason mine stomach pit,
ulcer amore'! Tho' there's no clear understanding for sins you've committed.
Those children! Where are the tears Robbie Parker? Where are the tears? We
can't look at you anymore!
The epitome of evil approached the podium, unaware we were staring into
your laughing eyes. Caught red handed, you Superman'd into character.
Despise, despise! No, I won't pretend like the others that hate is not in my
heart. You see, minus hate, love remains half mast. I thank you for the
juxtaposition. Yet, sickening you are. And the truth is out Mr. Parker, you are
a farce! Now I ask...Where does the misconception end? You mock naysayers,
label them "Conspiracy Theorists" amongst other choice vulgarities. In return,
I request answers. Answers to understand where true conspiracy roams, for'
I'm no dummy little buddy, and I know where there's smoke, fire is nearby.
Meanwhile, you might want to sharpen your acting skills, for the end is nigh.
And you Robbie Parker are only a speck of the lie.

You rigged the book on Sandy Hook.

The Imposter

The imposter

Seeking out the imposter
She looks a lot like me.
Shiny black and white fur.
Call if you know where she might be.

She's wanted for cat napping,
letting the mouse get away.
Also for the shredding the gift wrapping
when the people left the other day.

Then she pinned the blame on me
Now I'm trapped like a prisoner
No longer able to chase the birds and bees
and it's all because of her

Did someone ever promise you the moon?
You believed him on that starlit night in June.
Fate intervened, and it came to a painful end.
Love’s just a temporary imposter, and gone like the wind.

The One, the Only, the Imposter

I can feel the end drawing near
Muddy water becoming clear
People running from what's true
They are all running to you
Just to find you let them down
Stomping them into the ground
Befriend them for their future suffer
You are the joke without laughter
You're a hypocritical drama queen
"Seen more than what we've seen"
One by one we fell from you
Together we can see what's true

No Imposter, I

Should I once ignore your smile
Call the undertaker
For I be dead unless I be
Imposter fraud or faker

Yet should I be, blind to thee
Even should a fraud I be
Interloper still would see
The beauty that resides in thee

Never shall I stay your kiss
Nor from your hug extract
Nor fail to stroke your flaxen strands
Never shall do that

Should we walk with hands unheld
Call the lawmen in
Tis not I you walk beside
But someone in my skin

Never shall I aim to roam
Nor draw another's eye
Change not I, lest I die
No Imposter, I

Imposter

I'm standing in the place
Of a girl who has been replaced.
We are both the same
She and i.
But the person who I used to be...
Well iv changed drastically.
I stand in the place of who I was,
Changed in more ways than one.
I try to remember the other me
Always happy...giggling...
Then life stepped in
And ruined it all.
It broke the happy me,
Into the girl you all see.
Now I’m distant.
Locked inside
Most of the time I’m even afraid
To cry!
Yea I’m happy sometimes,
There’s the good and the bad.
But sometimes I wish I could just go back
Don’t we all?
Back before life broke me.
But now I’m slightly distant
Not always happy,
Not always sad,
Just me and who I am today.
I embrace who I am
Even if iv changed.
Because who I am is me
Not quite normal,
A bit from crazy.
Just somewhere in between
So yea this is me the impostor.

Imposter

Fake!! Fakers, are
the real of the nameless
with many id's,paper dolls
and rumored boy toys,
white-collard polo's
straddling Marlboro horses,
or maybe ushered in
like dream team Barbie
and holocaust Ken
Golden wheat field,
trade; for black water
God handed "here you go
Mother nature,"
into velvet rooms,
with tantric lust,
behold tight ****
and parched tips,
for fame of child
green changeling,
not of a summers dream

The Imposter

Who is this imposter and what have you done
With the man that I love? We had only begun
to share all the love that I thought was so true...
But then you were gone, never saying we're through.

You can't be my lover, you can't be my friend.
He'd never have done this, He'd never pretend
to care about someone and then walk away,
with no backward glance and nothing to say.

This is his body, those are his eyes
But who's really in there? It's such a surprise
to find out the person you thought was your own
Was someone who soon would pack up and be gone.

With no explanation and nary a tear,
You left like a thief in the night: disappeared.
I dont understand why it ended like this.
There were no goodbyes, not even a kiss.

You knew that I loved you, but you didn't care.
You had other plans and I wasn't aware
that you were unhappy and wanted to leave.
I still hate to think I could be that naive.

You're leaving me here with a future so bleak,
I do hope you find what it is that you seek.
Someday you'll look back and remember this day.
And you'll wonder how things would have been if you'd stayed.

By then it won't matter, for I'll have moved on.
You know how I feel about being alone.
Wherever you go I hope you will be free,
and realize no one has loved you like me.

With purpose her steps project pearlescent elegance
Finely cut fabric falls from her waist, embellishes
Weightless momentum, legs timed as ballroom
bustle musical march beside busy suburban thrum

Range Rover overgrown zebras meander, hands free
Inhabit hair salon adjacent spots, to emerge panthers
Claws comb plumb neat pelt on gym angular shoulders
Watched white teeth greet crimped cappuccino domes

From rotting fence, cluttered sunroom mottled streets
Feral hedges blend shed dilapidation with neighbours
Pearl recalls the rural run-down houses, howling low hope
Chimneys emitting messages to status never received

Mauve smoke drifts to city monotonous nonchalance
Eleventh level sky view squares share trove of eventide
Tang in coveted ticket operas from atop lavish lifestyle
High rise residents' glinted sun sets show mirrors only

Imposter

I’m merely a novice
Trying to blend
Disguised as competence
They let me in

I squeezed past
The judges table
By talking fast
I seemed able

My gift of gab
Paved the way
Scored a cab
And bed to lay

Now I’m here
Out of place
Insincere
I hide my face

A humble ornament
Adorning corners
Fake and fraudulent
Along the borders

Don’t come to me
With eyes a’glow
In hopes to see
All that I know

I’m an imposter
A wanna be
So please don’t bother
Studying me
