Best Identical Twins Poems
Identical Twins
Time is passing
Life is fleeting
We will all be memories
Some day
We bid them farewell
Those we have known
With no compensation
For broken hearts
Each life has known us
Though we are strangers
Your eyes are so similar
To those I loved
But you are leaving
As I am expiring
We are remembering
The faces lost
I did not know you
You do not know me
Identical twins we
Of diverging lives
Each love we have known
No different from those
Exquisite beauties
We held in each other’s hands
I don’t know why
You can’t see, you are me
The same reflection
On an alternate page
Just as much passion
No less the grief
Our tears are counted
By our hearts beat
Part of the ocean
Our love is remembered
Part of the ocean
Of humanity
Time is fleeting
Life is passing
We will all be memories
Some day

Being an identical twin means you do not have a name
For the first eighteen years of your life but keep your happy heart.
You are called “Hey, you, Twin!” or “Stone Twin!”
Except by your friends who are amazing and can tell you apart.
I could not wait to leave home, so I could wear my own stuff.
My identical twin wanted to dress identically, this was so tough.
I could not wait to get out the door and be called my own name.
I did not tell anyone I had a look-alike, who looked exactly the same.
Now we are older, and we get a kick out of dressing alike.
It takes us hours of deciding, because we can rarely agree.
I like clothes with words, a motto, or moral, or a monster on a hike.
My twin likes to wear florals, old people clothes that irritate me.
We have a twin laugh that is creepy. Our whole family rolls their eyes.
This laugh starts out loud but after a while turns silent, which is cool.
Silent laugh, our children say, not understanding or able to surmise.
That twins have a sense of humor that follows no sense or rule.

Identical twins, they have a crisis
Look-alikes, neither is known for niceness,
Terry writes his poems
While his brother ho-hums,
And neither one has joined up with Isis.

Are you identical twins? The school teacher asked.
I am not impressed, slightly stuplified and aghast.
They are boy and girl twins, you idiot I want to say.
But I have used up all of my insult quota until next Wednesday.

There go the Brown twins, the Brown twins.
Hey, Brown twin, want a ride?
Hey, Brown twin, how does it feel to see double?
He, Brown twin, do you chew Double Mint gum?
At first as a twin, you are a novelty.
You either like the attention or despise it.
I loved it in kindergarten but despised it in first grade.
In kindergarten we were smaller and got carried around by classmates.

When finding your identical twin,
There’s always trial and error.
But I’ve taken a shortcut:
By looking into the mirror!

Identical twins. Never having a name.
Referred to as the Tone Twins. Hey, Twins! Twinsie.
Assumed to be one person for the first eighteen years.
Until one could get away, leaving fast, chased by the other.
Twin A is independent, likes being alone, seeks solitude.
Her identical-looking sister draws a crowd, likes attention.
Twin A is a creator, forming poems, cartoons, and artistic works.
Her identical-looking sister believes these outliers are nonsense.
Twin A is a reader, especially likes non-fiction,
biographies, and history.
Her identical-looking sister has not picked up a book for fifty-years.
Twin A has sought her own identity her entire life, distancing herself.
Twin B, still wants to dress alike, thank you very much,
still seeking attention.
Twin A is steadily reminding herself she has escaped,
she can stop running now.
Twin B is begging her to come to her church
and wear identical outfits; but Twin A loathes church.
Twin A enjoys her flowers, her vegetables, and her life.
As does Twin B, who continues to hope they are exactly alike.

My sister and I are identical twins.
For years we had no identity, no name.
We were the twins or the Stone Twins or one of the twins.
It was our normal.
But our friends soon realized
Although we have the same face, voice and mannerisms
We are not identical in other ways.
I hate cooking, cleaning, baking and that junk. Carolyn loves it.
Carolyn spends her days sewing, knitting and baking.
I spend my days writing, painting, and drawing cartoons.
We both do keep busy; both type A’s, that is for sure.
We cannot discuss religion or politics, because we love each other.
We cannot choose a shirt we will both wear; we tried this for six hours once.
I want glitz, jazz, eclectic, asymmetrical designs. She wears hearts and stars.
We do have an amazing silent twin laugh that scares people.
It is something I cannot describe. You have to be there,
And you will never forget it.
Carolyn is a sender. She can send a message remotely and I will receive it.
I am a receiver, but not only for Carolyn, but for other people too.
I am an empath, and am quite in tune with my telepathic side.
Carolyn does not believe in that, and thinks when I call it is a coincidence.
One time she said “What took you so long? I wanted you to call all day!”
So I guess she kind of believes in it.
We love each other, and we share the same fundamental ideals.

Identical twins have a mystical language no one else knows.
They can catch each other’s eyes and laugh forever.
One is dependent, wants to dress alike until they are a hundred.
Her twin is the boss, and does not want to dress alike at all.
They send and receive indecipherable silent messages.
Sharing a womb and a family has bonded them forever.

What you deem frivolous
Is often of utmost importance to me.
Difficult to believe
We were raised by the same parents.

looking
similar
identical too
twins you say? Well sure they are…
Do they have any ideas of their own?
The outside rarely reflects the person within; we are each our own person,
even a twin.

Identical twins Marian and Vivian are sisters with flair
You might see them out in the San Francisco air
They are famous for their identical outfits for sure
Filling gawking children full of delightful wonder

In kindergarten we were the little dollies
Carried around by our classmates all day
Until we started to like it
My happy twin and I
Naturally prissy teacher tried to stop it
But they loved us ever much our classmates
We were popular that first week of school
Everyone wanted to play with the twins
Many had never seen the like
We were identical
I remember my curly head swelled up a bit
We both thought we were the best in the class
Our mother tried to take us down a peg or two
But Daddy thought it was hilarious
I still remember this fondly
I loved kindergarten!
The year we got carried around and loved a lot!
The best year of my life in many ways.
