Best Icebergs Poems
Winters freezing wilderness.
Icebergs gliding silently.
Mirror stately sailing ships.
Frozen into ice.
11/ 7/ 2015.
Trembling with madness
Within
I sense your coming
My eyes narrow and glazed
Intact
Fighting with loud and angry voices
Within
I hear you coming
My eyes wide and straining
Harder
Shivering with icy tendons of bone
Within
I see you coming
My eyes hard and pressing
Farther
Pushing with senseless strength
Within
I feel you coming
My eyes open and blindly
Shattered
Alive
And still I die
Aroused
And still I sleep
Alone
And still with you
Always
With you
Awake
Hitting icebergs
[inspired by the line 'awake hitting icebergs' from the song "Hole 356" by Thomas Gardell,
my nephew and godson]
I watch them melt
imagining the arctic
slowly melting into the sea
until there is nothing
left of ice worthiness.
I guess I'll suffer with hot coffee.

I had words for you after the meeting last night, but you were gone before we connected. Please receive these 'fitly spoken words' that are like apples of gold in silver pitchers*. Sometimes, love is not understood because it often operates counter-clockwise. Your cares are many and your burdens are heavy because your heart is huge. Your love is also huge and needs will never cease; so let the R&R take you away. This vacation belongs to you; so leave your concerns in this valley of heat. In our lives, we must learn to 'come apart' before our lives 'fall apart'. He who was the personification of perfection had no guilt when he took a break. Alaska is calling, the glaciers are waiting; so go on and board that ship.

Simple words
and deeper meanings
Softer thoughts
and harder leanings
Letters line up
straight and true
But often they bring
something new
Simple words
and deeper meanings
Icebergs melt,
the flow still gleaming
Say it once,
and say it plain
Your heart will roar
—your soul to gain

Please pardon me if I appear to be unkind.
Don't hesitate to inform me if I'm out of line.
Most times, I hesitate or ignore, but not this time.
I'm not one given to criticism or one ever to whine.
My fellow Americans, I have grown tired and weary with debates.
Four years ago, I started to turn away from the Presidential debates.
In fact, I emailed the 2016 candidates and told them I was tuning them out.
I told them that my mind had been made up long before the debates began.
Would you believe it if I told you that one candidate bothered to answer me?
I might not write the candidates this year, but I have certainly gave up on debates. If the truth be told, the American public deserves much better, and candidates must be made aware.
No, the sky is not falling, but the ship is facing icebergs, and it matters not who wins or loses a debate. We must not fall for being entertained in the midst of so much pain in a country needing change. Clearly, this titanic needs watchmen looking out for 'icebergs' before it is too late to avoid them.
