Premium Member Ground Hogs and Roses
soft roses, held in bloodless fingers,
bleed a scented redness
caressed by lusts ache
masquerading as a gentle touch

each petal a charade
a “loves me – loves me not”
catharsis of collusion
covering its tracks

heart shaped
convenience store memories
withering dreams
melting on the dashboard

the groundhog smiles
its shadowless reflection
reveling in winters
unpredictability

Premium Member Table Hogs
They invade the cafe at first light
Then with latte and laptop held tight
    They seize tables for four
    To let go nevermore
So all others drink coffee upright

With a bored intellectual stare
That one hankers to be Molière

Premium Member Ye Olde Hogs Head
Welcome to the Hogs head
The local ye olde pub
The ale tastes like urine
And there's maggots
In the grub.

There's straw on the floor
A pee bucket by the door
And rats scurry in groups of ten or more.

The busty wenches serve the ale
And over the centuries
There's been spoken
Many...

Life's Road Hogs
LIFES’ ROAD HOGS

You’ll find them on the highways and all along life’s' byways
And they refuse to see they’re the cause of all the problems
They ride along the fast lane and make you feel the villain
An In the end the good man feels...

Premium Member Those Hogs
They wrote us off this season,
Haters kept saying 'not this year'
Outside the stadium now it's changed;
Sizzling excitement crackles the air
Each one of us knows why we're here;
Hosting the biggest NFL rivalry
Out for the win, another victory;
Going for the division, the NFC East
Sunday, All...

Premium Member Take Me To An Old Rainy Day By Uncle Toad and the Wart Hogs
I looked up one day and my childhood was gone.
My memory faded and it didn’t take long.
My slice of the pie,
Has turned in crumbs.
Shadows of ghosted memories
Have made my heart numb.
So take me to an old rainy day
Pour me out a...

What If the Hogs Wouldn'T Eat the Slop
What If the Hogs Wouldn't Eat the Slop?

By Elton Camp

Too many folks, filthy from TV will deplore
But yet continue to watch it more and more

They say, "The world's going to Satan, I fear,"
Yet eagerly at the noxious show continue to peer

The channel is certainly easy...

Premium Member Friggin' Ground Hogs
Have you ever noticed on Ground Hog Day
The ground hogs hog the spotlight
They're frigging ground hogs for crying out loud
We honour these rodents in spite

Supposedly they know when winter will end
So we let them have their say
They don't need to tell us there's six weeks...

Warts on a hog for now will never go away
The heady preacher belts out a sermon
Halfway time to stretch then pray and pay
Binds you to perdition certain

A godless generation wakes to see
No way to reconcile even a minute
The overture correction will ever be
Achieving marker less...

Premium Member We Are the All-Powerful Hogs
scrambling for dollars
we are hogs in mass
rooting and tooting
with greed slathering our snouts

picking up our assault rifles
shooting into the crowd
hoping to kill the right people
Or the wrong ones

Just the ones who are not snooty stuck-up hogs
All the others actually
We are scrambling for top billing
Hoping to...
