God's Own Country

A short pleasant drive through the pathway
Between the impenetrable woodlands lying untamed -
Cradled by soft wind, the scenic lush foliage I gaped at
During my recent visit to my homeland
Enriched and cheered my dreary mind;
Fresh breeze, so pure, gently tousled my hair
Giving me a feel that right then I was
Heading towards a heavenly hamlet; the
Idyllic green cover was embellished with mangoes, enormous and
Jackfruits, huge. The flowering trees with vivid blooms formed a
Kaleidoscope of colours glinting in soft sunlight after a drizzle;
Lofty trees shaped a canopy of leaves, so artistic, and glued
My eyes to its pristine rustic charming beauty:
No wonder this land is called ‘God’s Own Country’ -
Of all the beautiful places, here is Nature at Her best!
Ponds, lakes and streams were fringed with long
Queues of coconut trees, some leaning over the lakes -
Reflecting and glistening in the water below;
Shh! The soft silvery clouds and the misty hills seemed
To be engaged in a cosy-chat - so dreamy and enchanting;
Upon the luxuriant land sprawled large spindly rubber trees -
Verdurous, lined up in orderly rows - so mystic - as if
Wishing to whisper a secret in my ears. Listening to
Xylophone music from my son’s mobile, so peaceful, my mind
Yearned to glance more at Her graceful face!...as the
Zig-zag road, untiring, unfurled before my eyes, with its twists and turns.

Past the Deserts and Greenery

Past the deserts and greenery
Is a land better than any
It is that land that I seek
Where my prospects aren't so bleak
It is that land where I want to go
Where my future won't take such a blow
Where I am free of all the rules
Where I am not considered one of the fools
Where nobody can tell me what I can and cannot do
Where conflicts, controversies and scandals don't ensue
Where few are enemies and many are friends
Where the road of life is straight with very few bends
The land where I can be me
Without a care or worry
I know that land is somewhere,
Past the deserts and greenery.

Premium Member Laughing Lavender Lilacs

Laughing purple lilacs rain wonders through a thirsty soul – by poet

Lavender lilacs, tranquil and prayerful
Fill up the heart with a sense of compassion
Lightly whispering in the morning breeze
Gentling the eyes with breaths of pure love
Serenity flows warm through the tender petals
Melting away all worry, pain or depression
With holy hints of soft color - happiness sighing
To the heavens where my heart is admiring
Gracious and glorious blossoms of lilacs
Penetrating the soul with heavy boughs
Flowers so cheerful, they bring laughter to the
Silence and contentment to the forlorn
Purple lilacs so alive they dance in the hues
Of a buttery yellow sun who delights in shining
Down through halos that surround everyone
With a glow of purity only found on angel’s arms
As they bless the ground where
Lilacs bloom in the shadows of a dream
So beautiful it sings the sweetest melody
A chorus of hope, faith and love
Sent down on these green leaves
Who murmur of God’s great peace
Given to hearts who listen to the senses
As they reflect on the lilac’s brilliant semblance

Walking in the wood brings such pleasure
feasting upon all your eyes can see
the magnificence of the trees splendour
fir spruce oak so many kinds of tree

Walking around in the spacious wood
breathing in all that you're able to smell
the fresh air with the green flavour
such succulent smells all you can tell

Walking in the midst among these trees
touching the roughness of all this wood
there's a strength and firmness to stand tall
years of age this timber have stood

Walking among all the woodland bare
the birds of many kinds sing aloud
there's a sweetness come to your ears
awaken in morning to this lovely sound

Walking in many a wood bears fruit
in many parts of the world, they ripe
apple pears oranges to name a few
tasting a pleasure really whatever type!

Greenery

Don't get confused on what's really green. The henna........the trees.....the herb....the eyes......money isn't green, it's as dark as the evil it possesses , how greedy it makes us , all of us. Couldn't possibly picture happy life without the....don't need things to crave them. One taste of a dead president will have your life spiraling into a closet of give and take that takes and never gives. The cycle that replaces life. Green is the green that is green to the eye. Touch soul. Love is green. Smoke love touch the soul. Let it curl and embrace your insides till it's fuzzy fingers massage your scalp and release the blood back into your body. Don't let the paper over rule the plant. Mary is here , we don't need the bens and franklins. Earth gives us what we are. Weed give ourselves what we want. We'ed gives ourselves what we need.

Premium Member The Beauty of Greenery

There is such colour all around
in this spring time of the year
looking out high above Windermere
indeed these colours are so clear

So many lovely shades out there
among the woods see many a tree
dark and light among the leaves
such beauty there for eyes to see

What contrast this does bring
against backdrop of the lake
sit and enjoy such peaceful scene
hold the moment with nice choc flake

There's so many shades of green
so special in light of midday sun
you can't begin to explain it's splendour
as it leaves you in state of stun

In light of all this beauty
how can one deny God's design?
no man could make all this
it's signature is simply divine

(Having spent a few days around Lake Windermere last year staying in hotel based up high above in the hills behind the lake itself showing such brilliant greenery in the woods and hills around the area, so gave me inspiration to write this as looking out from my room window was breathtaking and inspirational, a real poets paradise)

after the rain, wildflowers bend like
wilted men wrapped in age and bliss
fragments of longing and belonging
in wet that sustains a warming world
to bring elation with green fields
                                     in a mission of beauty

daisies poke through tall grasses
picketing the field with star shaped heads
              and yellow centre discs
that make the world manageable to hold
              gadflies of growth
              with white petals plucked by
                                 wooing hands to know
                                 the alignment of love

greenery with life within
overstuffed
drenched hazy
a tangle of vegetation
all of it deflecting woe like voices in a chorus
finding one's self in the mix

In the shade, I shrivel
in flowering cactus
crafting sloppy verse

below the scraggly
exhausted moon

warm reverberations of love
originating in the Jade Garden
nerves jangling in my true being

the magnificent encounter
of how to melt
this iron reluctance

dreams can feel
most real than actual life
every day as I unseal my eyes.

Premium Member The Old Tree

The old tree
Too wither for the sun
Too thick for the rain
Too big for the wind
Too old for the oldies to tell stories
Too bristle for the youngsters to climb upon
Too shady and blocking for the view of the road
Too many leaves for the sweepers
Too dangerous for the lightning
Too big for the children to embrace
Have to give way to safety and developments
An old stump is left
A soothing greenery is lost
But the laughters it once brought
Remain in the mind of the children

Something warm in the wind
Puts the color back with ease,
'Round the stems of flowers
Into the limbs of trees ...
Newness to the place around
Greenery born upon the breeze.

Greenery Ate Urban

floating within my eyes
room within a bare skull
came the lover of thoughts

'image yourself within
waters surrounded by giant
skies...'

greenery ate urban

i loved my lover here
with legs of understanding
and a neck of pure Love

i licked the cellophane
flowers within her eyes
caught between my head

and ate her hot sun

so caught i am i said
while phantom eyes
said, "HI!"
waving shore men
wept

while greenery ate urban
