Ready and Willing To Work

The job search continues, though unemployment has run out
For me, accepting a government handout set a precedent
If only the largest corporations are to qualify for bailouts
Then I’d like to shake up Washington and run for president

Not of the United States, no, I don’t want Obama’s job
But I’d like to take the reins of a business with some courage
To refuse taxpayer money like Ford, not GM on the rob
Like the public, I’d heal corporate wounds with my own bandage

Now I fill my hours volunteering for various causes
Senior centers and children’s groups show appreciation
Operating in the red, they are used to accepting losses
And in my heart I receive a different type of compensation

Photo Poem . 01

In English-
.
These beautiful swans adjusting their wings slowly
While focusing their eyes and concentration in the lake water
The Sun seems a little uneasy in such calm & quietness
The magic of the scene enchanted even the winds
Earlier, such a scenic beauty was so common
in our villages near ponds and puddles
But all this is lost in the dust of modern forests
We no more see frequently those farm and the barns
How very far away,
We have gone from our beautiful Natural surroundings
From the enchanting inherent beauty of our country's life. "
.
In Hindi
.
"ye apanee pankhon ko hole se samet kar baithate
paanee mein nazaren tikaate sundar se Hans pakshee
khaamosh fizaaon mein kuchh machalata sa sooraj
ye thahari havaon ka madahosh karata jaadoo
pahale kabhee dikhata tha har gaanv aur pokhar par
par khoya ye sab, ab aadhunik jangal mein
ab to khet aur khalihaan bhee nahin dikhate aksar,
kitane door ho gae hain hm, sb se apne sundar parivesh se
apanee desh ke jeevan kii sundarata aur sahajata se."

Premium Member The Legendary Adventure Moments of Doctor Hermione Baggin

“The Legendary Adventure Moments of Doctor Hermione Baggins the Reddish of Winterhold, The Master Sith Rainbow Lord Lulu Pucca, Cloud Kitty Carla Chandra the Ruby Rose, and Rand O'From Equestria the Darken Raw Snow vs The Strange A.A. or Perhaps B.S. Educated Scotties Homer Pilgrim’s Search for More Resources by Destroying the Galaxy to Make Way for a Interstellar Lightspeed Railway or Was It a Fishing Pond?”

Apathetic the game will continue on anyway
“Bidet,” a person points, "first door on the right in the hallway"
Celtic orchestrated melody commences to play
Drastic the GM in a serious voice proceeds to convey
“Exotic treasures will be rewarded at the story's endplay
Frederick and Scotty have threatened to destroy the floodway
Galactic dragons will soon have control of the realms gateway
Heretic man wearing the scarlet hand is on the highway
Icteric smiles seeing the party ‘do you have an issue?’”
“Judgematic paladin, what course of action will you do?”
“Kinesthetic, I'll flash step next to him and use my kung fu”
Laconic, looking over at the monk, “not your turn Lulu”
"Majestic I promenade over and address this mildew"
Novelistic I say, ‘the dragons, and mage, I must melee’”
“Optimistic the NPC rolls a 16 and tries to outplay
Panic soon kicks in as the druid and monk cross the pathway”
Quadraphonic sounds play as the initiative ensues
"Rollick, the monk and I go over, but I just rolled a two”
“Slapstick the heretic encounters the paladin’s swordplay
Tragic it's late and we must stop the story right here today
Unpoetic I know but we'll pick up again next Wednesday"

Sigh of Sin ? (Part - 4)

you may say now
those demerits relate to the seeds of the gm oranges
but just think the scanning of hibernation of the philtre
or of the kite the thread of which is cut off
they can’t escape their responsibility too

then tell me to whom i could give
my sad melting point

but then to do any work means
this trigonometry
outside the territory of copyright

then the connection of the biscuits
with the thoughts of the fire-works
is clearly dismantled

the border-zone of all relations thus keep themselves apart
and due to a sharp difference in the chromosomes of sand-stone
our dwelling-house becomes a museum

to build a hospital with a big moustache
at last within the hypnotized company
the shadow of our bed-room appears

then the light of the social moon is like the materials
with which the inner parts of the sorrows of the pomelo
is made up

it may be well for making great
the art-work of the horse-rider
that is wrapped with the handkerchief of ocean

it must be waiting for my shampoo-power too

some cure may be offered by the paraffin
and her open hair

but one deed of the rose-petals
and the convex sweet drops of molasses
is the flame of thumb-impression
that is born and brought up by the pan-cake
in-between sauce-pan and peter pan

in this all-pervasive panorama of slang-opera

My brother,
Preston Jacob Simon.
The one who played catch with me in the past,
The guy who throws the ball extremely fast.
My brother,
The guy who graduated in 2006,
Guess what college he goes ahead and picks.
My brother,
UNLV is where he has been,
Although he graduated from there in 2010.
My brother,
The one who got engaged three days later,
He says life in Seattle is so much greater.
My brother,
The guy who used to work at Panera Bread,
His career there is officially dead.
My brother,
He stands tall at 6’3”,
He was the GM of two restaurants with a criminal justice degree.
My brother,
In the restaurant business since age 16,
He’s pretty close to rolling in the green.
My brother,
2012 is his marriage year,
When he first knelt down he was bursting with fear.
My brother,
The dude who told me it wasn’t too late,
To pick up my grades in order to graduate.
My brother,
The guy I haven’t seen in so very long,
The one that always beats me in a game of Ping Pong.
My brother,
He’s always been there and never let me down,
I cry tears of joy when I know he’s in town.
My brother,
The guy who’s an Austin Bulldog at heart,
Travis Tigers rule supreme, where do I even start.
My brother,
We’ve had our moments; we’ve had our days,
We’ve had those times when all we could do is praise.
My brother,
Preston Jacob Simon

Dark Shade Over New York City

A well known toy store in New York City called FAO Schwarz closed its doors
There were many figurines and various toys for a child’s galore
FAO SCHWARZ was a store visitor’s from around the world that would explore
At any given day when you were walking pass FAO SCHWARZ, one just couldn’t ignore
Even the GM Plaza and Central Park knew the toy store best
But truly only FAO SCHWARZ could confess
A toy store being history in the books
A remembrance only a child will want to look
Wednesday was a sad da7
But thanks FAO SCHWARZ in being a New York City stay
We as New Yorkers are used to disappointments
Living in New York City teaches us how to cope
Every day breath is continued hope
FAO SCHWARZ, a name that will be held close to many hearts
As a specialty store, you made your mark
FAO SCHWARZ, you captured everyone’s heart
From the little one who gave a bear a hug and to the adult drinking water from a FAO SCHWARZ mug
The Christmas bells have stopped
The Central Park carriages can no longer step up
FAO SCHWARZ your doors have finally shut
Your advice to us in don’t cry
You might come back with another try
I will always cherish my 18 wheeler FAO SCHWARZ truck
My little bear in a FAO SCHWARZ bag being well tucked
Your F in being fun, A in appreciation, O having many options
S being Satisfaction, C in Continuous, H in Hello, W in Well, A in Acceleration, R in Remembrance and Z in Zebra figurines in multitudes
You were more than a story toy as you made it for us to soar
Your winning sales were your score
You didn’t say Good-bye as you stated you didn’t want us to cry
Moments for the minute
A name that will be cherished
FAO SCHWARZ and me, and that previous location of toys, I will never ever see.

In Defense of General Motors

In Defense of General Motors

By Elton Camp

Thirteen people are out of luck
About a part costing under a buck

For ten years, GM knew about it
To their customers didn’t shout it

They were in the profit-making game
So who can rightfully cast any blame

Public safety has to take second place
Angry shareholders they have to face

Admitting a defect might hurt sales
And accepting blame it also entails

In GM’s defense, there’s lots to say
Most of their cars didn’t do that way

Steering, brakes, air bags worked well
Those facts it’s important also to tell

Even if a few people had to die
To protect profits they had to try

Big Business has always been that way
So for GM, let’s hear a loud “Hooray!”

The Christmas Is Coming

.
.

Greetings in Advance to all my friends
of Poetry Soup for a Merry Christmas
Ravindra K Kapoor

This Poem is an instant poem written
after seeing a beautiful picture of a green valley
Which I have shared on my Time Line. To appreciate
the beauty of that picture and this Poem please
use following URL

“What a beauty explodes
In the greenness of this valley,
With a beautiful Church shining far away
In the green- green valley
Astonishing the viewers
With a pleasure so wonderfuland so familiar,
But still it always looks, so undefined
That everyone, every time tries to explore
What is new this time?
Reminding
The beautiful Christmas is not very far off
The Christmas is coming, the Christmas is coming
With all it warmth’s, celebrations and joys
That strangers like me
Feel the pulse of its joys,
The beauty of its Songs and Music
In praise of Jesus
While feeling the warmth of Poetry
By many so enchanting, so beautiful and so fine
For those
Who wait for this beautiful festival
It would be a gift
Of a great Merry Christmas time”.

A Short Prelude To Baya Bird

A short Prelude to Baya Bird

The Poem is inspired by a photo of Baya Bird placed on face book. The beautiful picture of Baya bird can be seen on following URL:

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=456119468060086&set=gm.1021617874633531&type=3&theater

A short Prelude to Baya Bird
.
What an unparalleled charisma of Nature
A small tiny bird has made this wonderful
Piece of Nature's pleasing unique wonder. 01
.
How do you get all these straws by your efforts
Then you weave them like a skilled weaver
These are not nest but they are the
Art monuments of Nature. 02
.
After watching such beautiful nest I wish
How wonderful it would be, if I could live
For few days with you, O bird
To see how beautiful is your world. 03
.
Alas ! If all the little children could have lived near you for some time
Will the new generation would save you from diminishing, O' sweet bird
This thought comes to mind, whenever I see you O' bird Baya. 04

To Find a Cure?

Do you want to live or die?
Think of this as you seek a reply
Wouldn't you try and find a cure,
Just so you could be sure?
Listen to your inner voice,
Then make the right choice
Because life is worth the living
More so than dying

Think of your loved ones,
And the life that's still to come
For you are my blood, my family
And you mean the world to me
If I lose you now,
I'll have to go on somehow
I've loved you my whole life long,
And don't want you to be gone

Dedicated to my Uncle Jim, who was hospitalized on Friday the 6th. He bled internally, and
needed 5-6 pints of blood replaced. He also was on a resperator, and his heart only had
20% usage. He had pnenomunia too. The doctors think he has an ulcer. He was almost
dead when he was admitted. He was realeased on Friday the 13th, but refuses to have a
colonoscopy, and a heart cahterization done. He has been prescribed medications, but will
not take them. He doesn't like doctors, and hasn't seen one in a long time, over 30 years.
He is only 60 years old. He is planning on returning to work at GM today, 3-16-09.

Like Ferlinghetti, I Am Waiting

I am waiting for 60 Minutes to run out the clock
and I am waiting for Old Media to request end-of-life counseling
and I am waiting for NASA to announce an imminent extinction event
and I am waiting for the FCC to scrap its plan to monitor thought waves
And I am really waiting for someone to interrupt Bill O’Reilly

I am waiting for Wolf Blitzer to screw up one morning and shave
and I am waiting for GM to admit the Volt was not grounded in reality
and I am waiting for Madonna to say she’s mad as hell and she’s not gonna shake it anymore
and I am waiting for a priest, a rabbi, and a mullah to walk into a bar
And I am really really waiting for the day when humor is color-blind

Inspired by the poem I Am Waiting by Lawrence Ferlinghetti,
from A Coney Island of the Mind (1958)
