Anxious Dissolution

IV

A soul was broken to make room
For dusty halls and labyrinths.
A gossamer, nylon bed-sheet shroud
Enwraps the remnants of that mind.
And no excuses can be made;
This disease does not justify that one.
I do not sleep deeply, I do not wake easily,
I dream of cities built on sand,
Next to the swelling sea.
Oh, they should have lasted.
Why should they fall?
I dream of timber horses,
Brought between those city walls.
We should have known; we should have known better.

III

But, I am not an honest mystic;
Beware what you ask of me.
I will show truths within the liar's tapestry.
But, you will not believe; no, you cannot believe.

II

I howled for my motherland
When the mutiny began.
I heard the cry of treason; heard the cry and ran.
I saw blood be spilled,
Some of it my own, then
Felt the rest boil, that this could happen in my home.
I saw the battle through, until the very end,
Then wished the traitors pardoned,
Because they were my friends.

I

I cannot tell the difference
Between the sleeping and the dead,
So, I will dole out blankets, and keep the kettle on.
The streets are cracked and dirty,
And they all appear the same:
Shattered glass and roofing tacks
Where I place my bare and weary feet.
I don't want to go on.
But, I must rebuild; I must rebuild.
I have no grass to lay,
The trees and flowers will not grow,
So, I shall use nothing, but mortar, brick, and stone.
It's not the same; it is not the same,
But, I shall call it home.

Premium Member What Know We of Love

A windswept meadow neath an ambling Apollo lone journey,
Witnessed the efforts of a crowd studded web of twinkling wished upon stars,
Lose its envious magic that they had cast upon the eyes of star-crossed lovers,
To an army of Cupid's charioteers who pulled its blanched Master Moon,
Whilst guided by the genteel gallops of endless Cherubs whom together,
Unleashed a hailstorm of heart seeking arrow tips that were dipped,
In honeyed filled molasses of numbingly sweet treasured quietude of,
Desirous lust that burst upon contact and release its alchemy concoction,
Affecting even the strongest of resistors into a fathomless mirth of ecstacy,
Swimming in divinational depths whose relentless currents unite the noumenon,
Beyond their measure for its extension enwraps the partnered heart to be as,
The eternal one, inseparable, until twilight trips into the arms of dawn,
For be it a day, until the fall of dusk the story perpetuates a new page it be,
Blank as before as a pen and a windswept meadow waits for lovers tryst.

Premium Member A Sonnet For You

Night lifts ebon shroud to curved silk of sky
Drizzle of gold streaks at dawn has begun
Paints pearl meadow where dainty dew drops lie
Dance of hue starts under shimmer of sun.

Cadence of cloud descends to flush my face
You’ll feel in your heart my sunburst love flow
Cascade of colors enwraps you with grace
Like a leaf drenched by twilight tinge you’ll glow.

The last moonbeam splashes dream dust on me
I float on reverie through bright day new
Reach you on wings of soft zephyr you’ll see
I write a sunshine sonnet just for you.

Night lifts ebon shroud to curved silk of sky
Drizzle of gold streaks at dawn has begun.

When Love Does Not Spell Passion

The essence of the charcoaled clouds enwraps me in it's gloom.
While thoughts of slanted sunrays try to wrest me from this doom.

My baby said he loves me but he's just not in love.
And I am darkened with thoughts akin to the sky above.

Don't I deserve the magic that a stirred passion can render?
the melting of a fiery kiss that tastes so very tender?

Light in his eyes that looks like me ,my laugh sketched on his soul.
This is my most fervent wish, my ultimate love goal.

The man says we shall never marry, he's just not the kind
to settle down forever with no one else on his mind.

Sometime soon I'll fade away to a bleak but well known land
where I can grow old with myself and invent lovers grand.

Until then I'll smile faintly and pretend all is well.
Until then I'll disappear into a sorrowful hell.

Premium Member My Sun

When the sun is shining its bright rays,
so too I feel its warmth heating me.
As the sun enwraps me close,
once more I blossom as it kisses me.

I feel it flooding within me
filling up each and every crevasse.
Days ago I still lived in darkness
hidden and locked away.

Now I gladly step up to your sun
which has brought me back.
Dark so sober now has no fear
as I lay basking in your arms.

You came into my life softly
together we have grown
completing what was missing
Making Us as One against All.

Love crept in, neither of us
were yet aware of the future.
That a bolt of lightning
would strike us both.

Sending us rushing
head long in love.
Now the future is ours
with love we storm the world.

May your sun always be by my side
as together we journey on.
Let us share our love with all
so they can bask in love's warmth.

Come my darling into my arms
hold me oh so very close.
I am your lady you are my man
from now to eternity we are bound.

Premium Member Stairway To the Stars

Stars like stalactites, suspended in a sapphire sky
Tremble on a satin tapestry
As I ascend, awe-struck,
Into their icy incandescent light.
Resplendence enwraps me as I
Wend my way through a white-hot
Astral arc,
Yearning for something just beyond my grasp. . . .

Treasures await me.
Of that I am sure.

Tails of argent comets swiftly pass me as I climb new
Heavenly heights in hushed
Expectation.

Surging past the shimmering rings of Saturn, I see in the distance a
Throne of gold set in a taffeta tableau; the stars behind me now
Appear as small glowing asterisks.
Reaching transcendence, I
Sparkle.

Silhouettes In Moonlight

While dreaming in the loft above
I am haunted by a long lost love.

The gilded leaves of Autumn sigh
just as they did when we said goodbye.

On a passing cloud there floats a dream,
it's heart shape showing what it means.

Silhouettes in moonlight you and I,
reunited at last, we both cry.

The soft song of a summer breeze
enwraps as true love sets us free.

Hold me close my darling dear,
you may disappear again I fear.

How I have longed for your embrace,
to be held again and encased

in strong arms and pounding heart.
Never again we two shall part.

Bright Flecks of Light (Shakespearean Sonnet)

White flecks of bright reflect within your eyes
The blue star burn of cosmic beauty's light.
A shroud poured down from high in midnight skies
Enwraps your face with love's caress tonight.

This sight conceived inspires a poet's heart
To kiss the bliss of every word in verse;
Transcendent voices echo pure each part
Of love evolved throughout this universe.

I gaze amazed at all we have expressed
As nerves still serve yet quiver with delight.
Our comfort comes because of love confessed
We pray our days of joy will not take flight.

These words that do awake within my soul
Will weave the way to heal this broken whole.

Beyond the Papery, Lined Realms of the Manifold Pages of My Triadic Notebooks

A silly superstition enwraps and grips me,
It holds me and will not loosen its vile, crushing deathgrip:
It is a numerical one, this foolish superstition to which I have my subscription,
For this is the numerological sorcerous fallacy to which I've subscribed:
That, as I have yet published a baker's dozen of poems hereon,
(Though this poem or that preceding it, might have in fact made it fourteen),
I must exceed the number somewhat, and do for today the writing of
Four poems, yet the dilemma in which I currently awash,
This quandary, this conundrum, this balk and qualm of mine,
Is as follows:
In my troika of notebooks and journals and leather diaries I've earmarked
For poetic use, the tally of poetries I've written therein today is but two,
Thus I would not reach the somehow sacred number,
That numerical goal I've set for myself of seventeen,
Unless I were to write two more poems, extra-notebooked ones:
Being ones beyond and without the notebook,
Beyond the papery, lined realms of the manifold pages of my
Threefold notebooks.
So to solve the insoluble, and resolve it, what was I to do?
I tasked myself with reaching the putative goal of seventeen,
But how would this devoir I achieve?
Only by the conception and composition of a pair of extra poems,
Thus, to accomplish that total, this poem and the one that preceded it.
So, have I paragraphed this page thus, in the manner most befitting
That of the poem.
And now this emptiest and most filler-like of my poems yet, it be done.

For the Love of Winter

And I can smell the windswept pine
Warmly holding hands, yours in mine
We move against the coming night
Our aching bodies drawing the line

Through the snow we lightly play
Laughing madly, in love we stay
Back to our cabin of logs and love
As the sun dwindles to a single ray

Bathed in firelight, glistened in sweat
We roll and writhe and love and yet
We two stripped and licked by flame
Fuelled by amore and desirous inset

These presents we give each our hearts
Bound together we lay upon fiery hearth
As winters coat enwraps this self bounty
We shall never be alone or torn apart

Premium Member The Hush

The hill and vale beneath are lush
with greenery. I feel a flush
of joy to ride the sky,
I’m rising higher; now a hush
surrounds me. Suddenly, a rush
of snow-white geese pass by!

My big balloon is taking me
into the clouds inside this sea
of blue; I lift and lift
above the clouds. . . Serenity
enwraps my soul. Eternally
I long to quietly drift.

Sometimes I Weep

Sometimes I weep because sometimes
the people I meet are so utterly beautiful.
Sometimes the tears just flow because sometimes
when I think of her and I am lost for words
and when the silence enwraps me
I can hear music and the singing of birds,
and sometimes in the small hours when I dream
of the moon gliding through her ebon hair
always I'm happy for having been graced
with her beautiful presence in my life.

The Darkness Is Lulling

The darkness is lulling.
It enwraps me, enfolds me.
Sweet serenity humming,
"Come to me, come to me."
I slip slowly away.
I fade.

I silence time wanes;
It's ticking, it's slipping.
In tranquility I'm lain.
In a haze, out of phase,
I'm aware of my being.
I'm here.

The atmosphere's changing.
It's twisting, it's shifting.
My heart begins pounding,
Th-thumping, b-bumping.
I feel a strange presence.
I fear!

In a terror I'm gripped!
Chest tightening, constricting.
My room a gray crypt,
It traps me, ensnares me!
I sense a near specter.
I quake!

In silent panic I lie.
I'm frozen, so frightened!
By terror I'm bound!
Please, eyes, open! Please open!
I can't move! Not a limb!
...I wake.
