I saw a wizard cast a magic spell.
Six dolphins jumped from the sea.
He asked me kindly not to tell.
They grew legs and danced with glee.
They really danced quite well.

He caught a wave in his hand,
From one of the seven seas
He turned it into a strip of land.
On that island he put some trees,
Also, tropical flowers quite grand.

He then turned his attention to me.
He suggested a gift, very expensive.
And asked what I wanted to be.
He stood looking very pensive.
I answered emphatically “just me.”

Premium Member If I Were Asked

If
I were asked, my dear
What in you I would like
To change,
My answer, emphatically,
NOTHING, would be,
Unchanged, I wish you
To remain,

FOR

How could I dare interfere
With your splendid being in
Any way,
When
Our Lord, in HIS infinite wisdom,
Has you, my love,
So
Perfectly MADE?

I Am Able

I am able never accepted the word disabled
Out casted and trampled on by the one who gave me shelter for nine months
A victim of circumstances in almost all instances because our fore fathers never embraced us as their own
Clearly, we had differences so in our hearts we wondered if God had our interest
The streets became our home, a home that murdered many innocent souls through starvation so you hypocrites never preach to me about salvation when your bellies are full
Do these politicians think we need them to pass a bill before we can have a meal?
If believers of the Bible and Quran cannot show us love then I ask, can many of us see heaven without a deal?
A revolution starts now
So tell a brother to tell another brother that it all begins here in our hearts
Today may be challenging but know that every second we can sense and see a better day evolving
Let us work hard for the sake of our children who will not forgive us because we never triumph over the challenges
Yes we can only if we are willing which is powerful than any natural healing
Our victory will be a mystery coded in our souls like history
We can emphatically say we are all on a journey more relevant than a missionary

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

Choose To Be

Written on: 4th and 5th April 2012.
by : sashi.prabhu

The beaten path seems sinewy lean but somnolently long,
In my life’s journey, forgot to whiff sweet fragrance flowers beside these paths as I walked along.
But I have reconciled and solemnly pledge not to ever repent,
nor Cry or weep over my life’s time aimlessly spent

Will strive tirelessly to work on creative pursuits,
To those conniving rascals standing beside my life’s pathway care two hoots.
On my gifts talents and skills focus and resolve,
My heart and mind deeply involve and take myself to the next level and I profoundly evolve.

Life it has begun to seem to me now very much brighter,
My body, mind and heart they all feel joyous nimble and lighter.
Have changed myself like the astute breeze,
Harmoniously and with simplicity have begun to live my life with ease.

Now, I seek inward courage to emphatically say,
Looking into their mind’s eyes “please make way”.
I have got stuff to do and keep life’s somber and sepulchral processes at bay,
My desire now to change is ever firmer than my wish the same to stay.

Now I have made up my mind to let them know the truth,
I really would not bother if I shatter their “illusions” and sound terribly uncouth………….
I am not what happens to me
I am what I choose to be…
I am me………

Premium Member Outside the Box

Heard the term “outside the box”?

What box are they referring to?

Sitting in my jammies at my computer

Don't see no box, do you?

A term you hear a lot these days

What can it possibly mean

This old guy is totally confused

Totally betwixt and between

Catch phrases have always confused me

Prefer simple Dick and Jane words

So all us grandpas can decipher them

This stuff is sure for the birds

Maybe I'll get an old cardboard box

And sit me therein for a while

Then emerge and start thinking of stuff

In a clever “outside the box” style

Really that's not at all what it means

Heard someone say emphatically

To go where no man has ever gone

Think a lot more erratically

Now confused much more than ever

Think I'll lie down for a while

Till the world spins a few more times

And I get back my winning smile

Premium Member In a Million Ways

In a millions ways, oh life,

You have emphatically declared to me

That

A mortal being I am

But

I, stubbornly, defied your declaration

Thus

Many highways of hope I have built

And

Many edifices of dreams have I put up

During

My passing through your planes of

Existence, as if I were immortal,

Although my heart

Its

Mortality, had from the start,

Embraced!

Soul Exposure

The underlying degree to which we strive to achieve
the highest form of spirituality by
sticking to the basics is often found in the securest embrace imaginable. Not even a whirlwind of time could blur the solid line that keeps us going in the same direction. Sometimes we offer our bodies to be held so deeply that our hearts beat emphatically, wanting more while telling ourselves tonight, simple kisses will suffice.
  Oftentimes, I write poems
along the lines of wanting more when I know less is best, so tonight I just want to expose you to the lost pages of my dairy, place your lips around the alliteration of my sentences, and feed me your favorite lines. Entangle our souls to the point there's no separation. Let us be judged as one because heaven would be hell if you weren't in it. And please keep your clothes on while I undress your mind. It's pen time.

Premium Member The Cornerstone of a New World

If you wish, my dearest friend, as I do
A better world to build, let us build it together
And make it:
Juster
Kinder
Nobler.

Let us lay the foundations of that world that would be
more compassionate and more loving than the one we
Live today,
Not only for you and for me
But
For our children, and the children of
Their children!

Yes, I admit that it is a complex undertaking,
Perhaps, an impossible task, as the past centuries
Have so emphatically asserted

But

There are more centuries before us,
Unborn centuries,
Innocent millennia,
Waiting for a better world to come,
For that
We must not betray their trust in us,
We must not disappoint their aspirations.
Let us, therefore,
Start building this magnificent world of our dreams,
Today.

Tell me, my loving friend,
Is there a finer duty?
A holier mission?
A more righteous and sacred
Pursuit than this?

Is there anything else more inspired by men,
More loved by God?

No, you know there is none!
Therefore
We must not hesitate any longer, come,
Let us dare!

Together, you and I, my brother,
Let us begin this holy enterprise
For
We owe it to ourselves
To our descendants
To the present and future humanity
Thus
Let us lay the cornerstone of
This illustrious structure now,
By
Taking the most challenging step forward:
Ourselves to change!

Premium Member When Summer is Gone

When Summer is gone along with substantial flowers,
a lingering memory, I wonder “were you here at all?”

It will only be, in each new Spring reviving,
that the iris near the tear duct blooms.

When Summer is gone and leaves float downstream
blains renew with a chill in the air,

and the maples and oaks lose
their grief stricken hues.

When Summer is gone, that means Spring too,
then Fall is the midpoint so far from you,

as the years yield their acorn pelts
I pumpkin-kiss and miss you.

When Summer is gone and the “I love you,” is silent,
in the deep drifts of the Winter white blanket,

still I hear your motherly voice in the wind,
emphatically reap your snowdrop smile.

Premium Member Our Little Bird

OUR LITTLE BIRD

From the moment she could toddle in the grass…before she said one word…
she would stand in her front yard and point up at the birds.

Watching their daughter smile when she saw the birds resting or in flight…
her parents filled her room with bird books they read to her each night.

They weren’t even upset…nor did they think it a bit absurd…
when, instead of mama or dada…the first word she said…was bird.

One night, after they finished reading and began to tuck her into bed…
with a smile on her face their daughter looked at them…and said:

“Mom, Dad! Do you know what I want to be when I finally grow?”
They sat down on the bed next to her saying, “Tell us…we’d like to know.”

She sat up all excited…then announced emphatically,
“I’m pretty sure…when I grow up…a bird is what I want to be!”

“I want to be like all the other birds I see in the trees and in the sky.
I want to be the kind of bird who spreads her wings…and flies!”

Smiling at each other, “That’s a wonderful dream.” Her parents said
then they kissed her on the forehead and tucked her into bed.

A parent’s responsibilities are many…it’s a blessing…and a chore…
when to bring their children down to Earth…when to let their imaginations soar.

Knowing how much she loved birds since the moment her little life began
They talked it over that night…and came up with a plan.

The next morning they handed her a helmet…
when she stepped out of her bed.
“Get dressed as quickly as you can.” They said.
“And when you’re dressed put this helmet on your head.”

As they turned to leave the room…their daughter asked them why…
“Because,” they smiled, “we have a lot of work to do…
if we’re going to teach you how to fly.

Gift

The day’s beginning is a special gift.
Given over a life’s eternity,
One can’t help but feel the daily change.
How often we stay into the evening. An attempt to hold
Onto the feelings of joy and elation,
That made our day so emphatically special.

Are not the future possibilities also special?
That we dream of yet other gifts,
gifts of such thought, that might also inspire elation
From giver and receiver for all eternity.
Constantly close to both, holding,
As if to say, “Don’t Ever Change.”

Does growth not require change?
Should not that change be also special?
Only if you have forgotten about holding,
The longing embrace of previous gifts,
One that requires attention for all eternity,
fueling existential feelings of elation.

Even when intentionally forgotten, holding
On to the recipient, despite elation.
At one point, this internal agony was a gift.
What could ever make this change?
This gift that could never be more special.
Now it has changed for eternity.

The re-direct of energy through eternity,
The loss of love’s forever embrace.
Love, making pain beautifully special.
Will there ever be elation?
Maybe if we only change
The way we exchange special gifts.

Our future’s eternity might fill with elation
From holding the exchange
Of something special,
… the mere appreciation of a gift..

Cab Driver

Alone at the narrow and busy street
Waited promptly for a cab to stop a bit.

At last lucky one respond to signals
Rode calmly whilst have thought of things

As the cab traversed streets to bridges
Mind soared with the driver's ordeals

Spoke undated events which ruined his life
Special one left for someone without notice

Love within and without fear to commit
In a relationship but haunted by past

Cab driver's enlightenment at once realized
Through sets of words emphatically uttered.

The Cosmic Keys of Consciousness

Open I say the mechanical molecular mind
As we stare from the celestial spheres and wonder
The non-physical now that is left behind
A timeless tapestry with tenacious thunder

The Keys that unlock the spatiotemporal still
Unveiling momentous multitudes of matter
Emphatically experiencing the fastidious free will
Creating transitory thoughts within the cosmic clatter

The Keys synchronously slowly tactically turn
For we await the immaculate enigma engines
Infinite Love and wisdom is our youthful yearn
Microcosms of uncertainty in determinant dimensions

For the cradling creators of the cosmic keys
Watching and waiting in the bionomical breeze.

The Key to infinite Love
The Key to infinite Wisdom
The key to infinite Uncertainty
