Premium Member Each Little Drop of Rain I See

Each little drop of rain I see
goes plink plink plink into the pond,
then disappears so easily
as if I’d waved a magic wand!

Inside the pond’s refreshment goes
each little drop of rain I see.
How calm this scene, for no wind blows;
all thoughts mundane from my mind flee.

A fragrance wafts enchantingly
to greet my nose with scent of pink!
Each little drop of rain I see
keeps falling falling plink plink plink.

Reflected on the water’s skin,
pink blossoms ripple joy to me
while in this moment I take in
each little drop of rain I see.

To Take Each Day As It Comes

To take each day as it comes
To gratefully praise The One
Joyfully face the new dawn’s grace,
That's now my everyday plan.

To take each day as it comes
To guard my thought as it roams
On anything or anyone
That's now my everyday plan.

To take each day as it comes
To be careful with my words
To use the value of my hands
That's now my everyday plan.

To take each day as it comes
To do everything I can
And bring a smile to not just one
That's now my everyday plan.

To take each day as it comes
To celebrate other’s gain
Not consciously cause another's pain
That's now my everyday plan.

To take each day as it comes
Not all the time comes the sun
For sorrow comes to everyone
And that I must understand.

To take each day as it comes
And know that I’m but a man
I will be glad, life’s not that bad
And do my part in God’s plan.

Each Day Takes Its Turn

Standing firm
we live
we give
we take
we learn
we strive to make sure
each day enlightens us
and brightens us
even as light fades to gray
may we keep fighting
with two swollen feet
beneath the body and soul
experiencing trials
and intense life lessons
meshed with stresses
may we persevere
turn off fear's song
may we stand firm
as we glide along
through shifty winds of change
that may cause things to sway
rearrange
but we hold true
inside the values and morality
we stand for
we
fall for nothing
we
may stumble along the trip
we
may swerve at the wheel yet
we
do not lose our grip
because no one
can eclipse the sun
yet
everyone heals
before they're done

Just when situations arise
flooding us with pain we despise
and just when it seems like
our tear ducts are dry
from ongoing cries
we may think
things are on the brink of ending
then God shows us the ways of faith
by way of love that he's sending

Standing firm
we live
we give
we take
we learn
we make sure
every day enlightens us
and brightens us
as each day takes its turn.

Premium Member Each Year Goes Round - For New Year Theme

"Year's end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us." - Hal Borland

Each year goes round, and so I must surmise
that even though four seasons make a year,
we cannot really say when one year dies
or when the brand new year has had its dawn!
At any spot upon this earthly sphere,
we, all of us, are going on and on.

There is no start, so there can be no end.
We try to gather wisdom from the old
to learn from it and then resolve to mend
our future ways, then pass it to our youth.
But wisdom must be valued more than gold
if love and peace on earth would be our truth.

Each year goes round, and so I must surmise
there is no start, so there can be no end!

To Kiss Each Morn, Color Outside The Lines

Once each day brought, only torturous pain
as dull axe, slow cutting against hard grain
Dawn cast shadows that this life did so curse
making me as a rock, in pauper's purse
Yet poetic soul swore to one day heal
to again dance well and truest love feel
To climb a tall mountain and take new flight
light hope's candles, bath in beautiful sight.

As a reborn soul, watch flowers soft blow
await midnight moon, see its wondrous glow
Be a true gift to family and friends
gaze above while making sincere amends
Hear music that sweetest dreams so oft play
humbly bow my head as I kneel to pray
Enjoy echoes of morn's first rooster crow
beg again a shot from Cupid's love bow.

Taste the wine of love and its first soft kiss
recall her smile and all of her I miss
Walk again forested path to our lake
repeat our youthful vows, never forsake
Romance that gave treasures and immense joy
hold firm to a love, life can not destroy
To kiss each morn, color outside the lines
stay on faithful path, pay heed to pure signs.

Premium Member Each Precious Moment

Every moment of life has meaning divine
Craft them with love, cherish your time
Remember the past but don't dwell within
for it is here, it is now that joy begins.
There is truth, there is balance in all that we see
from things left unsaid to leaves on a tree.
Let gentle soft rivers flow through your mind.
Treasure each heartbeat, try to be kind.
Be truthful and honest in all that you do.
Pain caused to others one day returns to you.
Tree branches bend from the wind blowing.
Actions have effects, ours seldom knowing.
Reach for the sunlight, enjoy the view.
Love freely given, each second is new.
The soul is a vessel, true love it can make.
In each precious moment, give more than you take.
Single moments in time can shape history.
Create happiness or cause misery.
A morsel of food to a mouth full of hunger
Lives lived with regret, wish to be younger.
Each moment that passes cannot be returned.
Move forward, live fully with all that you've learned.
Time before us, blank canvas to paint
That which is past becomes cloudy and faint.
Life is now. Life is here.
Live, love and laugh, hold it so dear.

A Backwards Poem-Needing Each Other

me
needing
you through
good and bad
times shared of
joy and love with
forgiveness linked
into redemption
saved through troubled times
with truth is grace
loving daily
portrayed and
pure is love
through me
needing
you

Forgive me, the "Backwards Poem" form is not an option on Poetry Soup so I listed it as a "verse". It is a form of poetry which can be read correctly downwards and upwards also.

I used a strict syllable count of: 1-2-2-3-3-4-4-5-5-4-4-3-3-2-2-1

Premium Member Each Passing Cloud

Aimlessly wander veiled memories of yore
Each passing cloud subtly brings to fore
Recalling regrets, where laments agonize,
Thinking of you, searching forsaken skies,
Muting spent emotions of anguished eyes.

O how we rejoiced in blissful sunny days
When dawns arose on glinted arc ablaze
As golden beams pierced shrouded haze
Defying onslaught of darkened malaise
Intent on blotting zealous romantic phase.

Recalling ardent dreams with you I stroll
Where gleam of your smile brightens soul
As allure of amorous past feelings cajole
Emanating from desires heartbeats extol
In language of passion yesteryears scroll.

Every cloud etches effigy of love gone awry
Yet, thunder of stygian vibes fiercely I defy,
For return of clear skies in your longing I vie
Denouncing certitude hosting forlorn sigh,
Remorseful of ego that callously bid goodbye.

Each Day We've a New Page to Write
(Soup does not allow ' in title line above)

Endless is childhood’s sweet story.
Its climax seems far from our sight.
As we keep adding in glory,
each day we’ve a new page to write.

Some days we fail; some we do not.
Regardless of fortune or plight,
sun rises! For what we have sought,
each day we’ve a new page to write.

How wonderful like falling snow
that lays down its white through the night,
each morning is fresh with new glow.
Each day we’ve a new page to write.

Though stories may seem to get old,
life never is worthless or trite.
Transform what you can into gold!
Each day we’ve a new page to write.

With Each New Day

With each new day

~

The night is silent
as evening drapes her cloth
above all that is seen
and shadows sit wondering…
what shapes will find them

Thoughts invade these hours
while fireflies sift through
evergreens now still,
seeking only but a soft breeze
whispering sweet dreams on feathered branches

And I sit here on the lawn,
counting minutes, feeling the emptiness
the midnight skies seep,
longing for what will come
on the eastern horizon

For that is where I shall find you,
glowing in tangerine ribbons,
painting pink clouds in dawn’s blushing brush strokes,
igniting a new day in effervescent colors…
as the sun rises and I smile

As once again we converse,
drinking coffee and loving life, enjoying
what comes from the awareness
that friendship truly does exist
with each new day we face

Good morning Soupers

Premium Member Dying a Little With Each and Every Breath

Quote- Henri Barbusse

""We are all, always, the desire not to die. This desire is as immeasurable and varied as life's complexity, but at bottom this is what it is: To continue to be, to be more and more, to develop and to endure. All the force we have, all our energy and clearness of mind serve to intensify themselves in one way or another. We intensify ourselves with new impressions, new sensations, new ideas. We endeavour to take what we do not have and to add it to ourselves. Humanity is the desire for novelty founded upon the fear of death. That is what it is.""

Dying A Little With Each And Every Breath

Within depths of human life, a radiant flame
Born from a spark, an unfathomable clear beat
Although world teaches that life is but a sad game
One that accepts the victories of those that cheat!

Lies refuted by radiance of divine light
As clear as tides caressing shores from waltzing seas
Mankind, wakes to new dawn but fails to walk aright
For from the love and truth far too often he flees!

Alas! World accelerates the dark within mankind
Seeded from birth, darkness unto each coming death
Lost soul, forbidding light to enter heart and mind
Dying a little with each and every breath!

Lies refuted by radiance of divine light.
Mankind, wakes to new dawn but fails to walk aright!

Premium Member When Day and Night Greet Each Other

Remnants owlish wisdom wafts through nighttime’s purple sky.
Fox settles down with her kits, against a nurturing oak stump.
Meadow and forest perform their nightly slumbering rituals.
Vigilant deer mama is resting in a bed of fescue next to her fawn.
Fireflies blink sheer happiness, laughing in Morse code.
Owl’s successive tri hoots are followed by coyote’s excited yips.
Forest and meadow slowly close their eyes, under the bright stars.
The day relinquishes her responsibilities to night, gladly.
It is a magical time when day and night greet each other, happily.

keeps butting her head against the same mirror
it cracks and breaks finally
so she finds another one as close to it as possible

Same scenario,

This mirror leaves too
Why do all the mirrors leave me? She asks.
The cat has no answers. Just glad to get all the attention now.

As You Have Your Cup Of Joe, Each New Morn

As you have your cup of Joe, each new morn
Think of Life as dawn in glory is born
See those gleaming rays sun casts in its glow
For this world does daily its splendor show.

If you want more, try to hear birds singing
For Mother Nature her gift is bringing
Greater joy and beauty that pleases man
As was its call and in God's divine plan.

As day flows forth with its many treasures
Consider Love's gifts, its deepest pleasures
Under soft moon and with her heart so true
Give thanks for sweet kisses as they accrue.

As you have your cup of Joe, each new morn.
Think of Life as dawn in glory is born.

Premium Member With Each Morning's Promise

Reflections of pink, and gold on heaven’s floor,
A hint of memories that came millenniums before,
And the radiance of God’s glory, from the heart's core,
Is a new dawn, for our taking.

In these shades of light, a narrative is spun,
Of women's strength and battles won,
For rights to choose, for equality won't be shun,
With each morning, a world's foundation shaking.

They rise for autonomy, their voices clear,
For choices over bodies, a future sincere,
Where decisions are theirs, with no shadow of fear,
With each morning, a new dawn's awakening.

Equal pay, a demand that echoes wide,
Breaking the chains of wage gaps, side by side,
A future where worth isn't unfairly denied,
With each morning, a brighter horizon breaking.

Promotions earned through merit and skill,
Not hindered by gender, a world to fulfill,
A future where glass ceilings shatter at will,
With each morning, progress relentless and unshaking.

Hope whispers of change, with each sunrise,
A world where justice and fairness arise,
Where women's rights, like the sun, shall rise,
With each morning, a future resolute for the taking.
