Premium Member Purveyors of Disruption

The winds of chaos run amok
To cause my soul to stress
As those about the Evening News
Delight at my distress.

These purveyors of disruption
Rot the world from within.
They fornicate their tired rubbish...
Finding glee in every sin.

We're they shunned by friends and family?
Did their psyche take a hit?
We're they picked last for indoor soccer?
Did their puppy up and quit?

I'm at a loss for explanation
Why they cheer the coming storm...
Twisting now the flesh of sainted truth
To keep their masters warm.

Do I dare to dream a simple dream
Knowing a little love is all they need.
But until they change... such heinous ways...
They'll get no love from me.

Disruption

Are we ready for what’s to come?
Will we know how to behave?
Never before in human history has there been such disruption. It was once a much simpler place. No more. The future is arriving faster than ever before.
Gia now has a neural net the brain is coming alive.
Things are changing at such a clip not like anything seen before. Things will never be the same.
Computers that once filled rooms are now held in the palm of our hands. Not too many years from now they’ll be cursing through our veins.
Nanotechnology, biotechnology, computer technology exploding at such a pace, soon enough, the internet will be connected to our face.
We’ll all be part of the global brain, have instant access to all the knowledge mankind has thus far obtained. Soon, artificial intelligence will join us where we live, things will never be the same. Machines will build machines smarter all the time. Where we go after all this may drive us insane.
Some say we’ll build virtual worlds every bit as real, and designed them to meet our every need, absolutely ideal. No one knows for sure which way all this will go.
I suggest you batten down the hatches though, it’s going to be quite the show.

Disruption

Lunch with a friend
Conversation flows
A ring of the phone
Our talking froze

She chooses to answer
I look annoyed
Our time together
Has now been destroyed

I stare at my plate
While being ignored
Five minutes pass
I'm getting bored

Was the call business?
No, just idle chatter
Derailing the mood
For an irrelevant matter

Keeping my calm
An impossible task
a little respect
Is all that I ask

Tethered to tech
Disconnecting us all
Harming a friendship
All over a call

I - a Disruption

Someone wrote for praise today
Water on my molding clay
You like the hard subject, a gift
Of wind without a lift
                  For I would think
My world so transparent in words
                  Would explain my link
                  My little flight with birds

For things of the poet's heart
Are not the tangibles of our life
Though by tangibles we break apart
And enter vile vortex of strife
I care for every forest razed
                 Every broken wing of child
                 Every woman raped, battered, daze
Every soldier wounded in the fight

I am the echo of art, the points
Of negotiation with powerlessness
The sacrifice that love appoints
I disrupt coherence of selfishness
And will confront kings and citadels
A vulture at the rotten heart
A dog to bark and bite at infidels
I am the conscience in the art.

This is my gift, my task, my delight
To be a candle in starless windy night
To tell the disillusioned you are right
To take to hell the gospel's fight
                 And proclaim God's kingdom come
So love is not an easy chair for me
Not noble dreams of figment freedom
                 I am its better memory.

Sit now
Ask how

Keep still
Just feel

Still voice
Seize choice

Feel glow
Love shows

Joy hurls
Fate twirls

Freeze frame
Drop name

Zen trip
Mood grip

Style piles
Truth smiles

Live here
Be clear

Good heart
Clear start

Calm mind
Knows find

Sure norm
Spreads norm

Sense fate
Forge date

Let loose
Life's noose

Abrupt
Disrupt

Meet strange
Stretch change

In quiet tones, I speak out loud,
Let me speak freely, without disruption,
So hear me out, before you overcrowd.
For when unbroken, I avoid corruption.

Let me speak freely, without disruption,
To weave each word with thread so fine,
Like a tapestry interlaced, line on line.

So hear me out, before you overcrowd.
Your time will come to have your say,
When I'm sure you will make me pay.

For when unbroken, I avoid corruption.
My train of thought stays right on track,
Chugging along, without your flak attack.

Residents of a Fevered Brain

Residents of a Fevered Mind
By Sy Roth

I took the road more traveled--my mistake
Thought I could hide among the masses
Fully expecting that someone might pluck me out,
And I would endure in their sunlight forever.

Waesucks, to exist in shapeless entropy,
To become a mouse gnawing endlessly on their scraps
Ort left by their forebears.
To inhabit their dark cells.

Their hazy dream of self-satisfaction
Where significance raises a cheery head in the dust of calm.
Beneath the derma, secreted indelicately,
They hide with me in the gray matter of a dusky universe.

Ah, the humanity of it all , our dirigible aflame.
Our egotistical mish-mash of conflicting beliefs,
residents of a fevered brain where dreams blossom
Willy nilly n a display of Fourth of July explosions.

Lost In a smoke-filled haze of discards left behind.
We reside in Papal dreams of eternity on the lap of God
Clasped hand in hand among an interminable line of precursors
All dreaming the same, time-shared vision.

Someone will pluck us from the stream of humanity,
Someone will recognize our importance
But we Lomans will march like lemmings wrapped in this belief
Stripped of the trappings of value.

To hear the Loony King Lears wail on the marsh
Railing against the winds
That stripped them of their imaginings
We stand frozen bits of DNA.

Act three suddenly opens with a flourish
And the actor who takes the stage opines--
Perhaps, life is not supposed to be
As meaningful as we think it is.

It seems that life is but a barrel of offal
And we can only await the time
To cleanse ourselves of its scent.

The backlash against CV-19 restrictions erupted
The plan to wear masks and social distance disrupted

Now that the numbers are spiking upward again
Will we have 'whiplash' with which to contend?

Stray echoes sound strange
Crisp chance creeps on change

Deep darkness deems daze
Floating misty maze

Dusk flings fast fierce fate
Change dangles due date

What drains that stern poise?
Clumsy footsteps voice

Strange the restless air
Cryptic choice beyond repair

Dusk disrupts clear sight
Sense foibles cast plight

Late on a date fuse
Dark scatters odd buzz

Reason in free fall
Logic tastes like gall

Eyes depend on light
Blind dazzle fails sight

right now i try to sit and write
between my husband and two kids
i find no peace, no quiet solitude
every sound drives me mad
especially when i feel the urge to write

Do you notice
Sense and motive?

Do you embrace
Allure and space?

Do you become
A zero sum?

Do you realise
Empty vain prize?

Do you enjoy
Such futile ploys?

Do you confront
Such worthless grunts?

Do you ignore
Trivia galore?

Do you subscribe
To groans and gripes?

That's when del segno

It's a sincere compliment
you know you are very
important to me
bring it up
only to change my mind
guess you wanna know
why I'm acting so
sweet and kind
guess you recognize it
by the way I make you feel
keeping it real
I'm in love with you

Keeping it real
even though I don't know
what I'm talking about
we got it over
and whn we didn't have much
to say
love soothed all the
heartache away
kissed me and then
a whisper
tonight we started loving
each other again
cause your more then a fre
tonight we start loving
 one another again

Looked out the window
saw you coming in
opened the door
for my best friend
saw your smile
and that's when
I was so in love
and I'm still in love
say you love me
and I'll say I love you too
aint knowthing in the
world I won't do
you know it's true
