Faith is in the knowing; that God is good and true
Faith is in the loving; the life, He gave up for you
Faith is in the believing; that you’ll never be alone
Faith is in the following; the secret places-His light has shown
Faith is in the seeing; that in Him, nothing is impossible
Faith is in the sowing; the fruitiest substance of His parables
Faith is in the renewing; the spiritual nature of your understanding
Faith is in the doing; what God’s word has intended into creating
Faith is in the surrendering; where repentance, signifies the ways
Faith is in the hearing; where the spirit, takes your breath away
Faith is in the preaching; where the scripture holds the only light
Faith is in the seeking; all the unfathomable, through depths and heights
Faith is in the blessing; where the old self dies to be reborn to a new creation
Faith is in the receiving; as the gift of grace as your ultimate foundation
Faith is in the forgiving; a changing of heart, that may seem rather auspicious
Faith is in the resting; and into putting all your trust, "in the name of Jesus"

"Pearl Diving" (Part 1)
He had wondered where to put his Quill
the ink pots were all dry
he lived in his little world
in the mountains somewhere up near the sky;
he was seeking a new story in the Winter of his life
he was done with making any woman
ever again his wife.
He was adamant now, that all must be “unconditional”,
he was weary,”I’m over it”, he thought with sleep,
“Why must Love always comes with a price?”.
So, he took to taking Chocolat and a book to bed, this was now his keep.
“Better this habit than be dead”, he mused,
underneath his burning sheets.
When a man whispers, “Diamonds”
all the honeybees draw near
but there are jewels far more precious
than what’s shipped in little sharp boxes clear;
he needs to go mining with his Deep Sea Diving gear
and dive into an ocean fathomless
dive deeper, drown all his Winter fears.
The Ocean was his first big love
and it was calling clear.
At the bottom of that ocean
under dark and heavy brine
there lies underneath all the sand somewhere
a clamshell lying tight, sublime;
It’s captured treasure lies in sleep
dreaming in her salty milky mucus purse
she wriggles around occasionally
when she is seeking dirt.
The clamshell spits dirt out when found
and lets the fishes flirt,
but it keeps it’s treasure tight within
safe from all that dirt.
This jewel it keeps, is shiny, luminescent still, is hard, no diamond crystal clear
she’s aging beautifully and keeping herself sub-octave in the blue
for a shark with virtue true.
This is what she misses when she dreams alone so pert -
Sharks if never, are mostly seldom, ever true
and what would they do with a Pearl?
They most probably, wouldn’t have a clue?

When I was a sophomore, I was in love with "Chemistry"
Just as soon as I fell, for the girl sitting right next to me
When I turned, junior, I hated "History"
Because as it turned out, she and I had two different "Philosophy"
But if you must know, I love "Math" the best
It was how I subtracted her out from all the rest
Although "English" was by far the most useful of all
Well, I mean, it’s kind of true next to "P.E" and basketball
"Physics" became a sort of breaking of the ice
Once I supplied her with an equation that’d made her, to look at me twice
As a senior, I sort of had fun with "Political-Science"
Sure enough, we got back together with only a little of her defiance
As for electives, I chose "Creative-writing" and, of course, "Art"
I drew her a picture and wrote her name in my heart
"Graduation" came and we were both happy and sad
As we reflected on every single moment we ever had
Then we held each other’s hand with words-said in limited supply
Because we knew, inevitably; we can only say goodbye, in a sigh!

Were going to the Florida Keys! Were going to Florida Keys!
As I mentioned we were on our way to the Florida Keys...
it was my mother, father, my sisters and me the brother of the family,
driving down the road for what seemed to be an eternity,
we always stopped at different places between the two this time especially,
the reason being, the mother of the family is now to be excepting.
So she's extra hungry! Eating for two and craving the craziest of foods,
she pretty much had the whole East coast to choose.
My dad driving, my sister Debby and I going back and forth,
if were not for the sake of that game boy!
Now we have reach our destination,
were on Cudjoe Key! It is about 80 degree
and first I run straight to the edge of the of peer, were it looks
out and over the clearest water anywhere near Dela-Where?
The peer looks out and over the Gulf Of Mexico just amazed, excited
and anticipating exactly what ever it is that they have plained to do next,
The next day we were out to sea, all on board the The HammerHead outboard!
My Pop-pop being just as excited as me, to show us all the secret fishing spots!
my dad and I at the captains orders.
With fishing lines casted in crept the board-em,
then the noise of the reel on the pole humming the tune of something, finally something!
as my pop-pop flung back on the pole "hooking" the fish, he calls for me to take control
reeling and getting tired quick, we all soon realized it wasn't just a fish for us to consume
it was actually a Hammer Head shark!
it wasn't any bigger then about 3 foot long it was still very strong, and still as dangerous
as it looked,
Not second guessing the situation, the adults took control with all their
experience cutting the fishing line, but not before we got to take a good
long look and a couple pictures of this...
this shark the particular one that my pop-pop named his boat after,
now with a story to last a lifetime and a few kodak memory's of this specific time
only to hope as I'm watching the sun set that me and my family will soon have a story
just like this one to rewind.

Jamaicans should know their country’s history
Imperialism, European Colonialism, Indentureship as well as African slavery
Centuries ago when our ancestors were trapped in misery
The days when our country was once ruled by the Spaniards
Natives of Spain
Dela Vega city, Sevilla la Nueva are few cities remembered in our brain
They tortured the peaceful Amerindians with hard labour and pain
We should always remember the days when our country was governed by the British colony
A country that trapped our ancestors in agony
Once ruled by the mother country England
White slave masters force their traditions, values and culture on our land
We fought for justice
We fought for freedom
We fought for the end of slavery
All of these were done through our national hero’s courage and bravery.

What did Delaware?
I really don't care,
But I think she should have dressed weller.

There is an old story, I would like to share
It is about the one; we have come to know inside a prayer
About a child who was born at a stable, in a manger, on a bed of hay
And about a gift and three kings with a bright star, charting the way
It was a simple idea, which I thought; we needed a reminder
Whose birthday it is, on this 25th of December
Because we’ve all been busy buying presents for everyone
Did we remember, not to forget about His, when all our errands were done?
We play music, we sing songs
We play them over and over, all night long
But haven’t we been missing out what it is truly all about
Somewhere, somehow we seemed to be leaving something out
To the children, Christmas is all about Santa; waving, at his sleigh
Together with his reindeer while Rudolph, leading the way
Or about Frosty the snowman thumpety-thumping in the snow
While to bigger kids, it’s about a kiss, blossoming under a-mistletoe
For the rest of us, it’s all about shopping and discovering what’s-on sale
Or peeking outside, waiting for someone, who’d be bringing in the mail
Or it’s all about, dressing up and preparing for that special meal
Or was it about the joy and the special gladness that we suddenly feel?
But don’t get me wrong, it’s all good
Everything seems like how it should
It’s just that we may be forgetting one little thing
Saying a “THANK YOU!” to the child, to the Lord, our King
It is… After all, his birthday we are celebrating
And to his kindness, we do owe Him… Everything
So let us give a moment of that day, as we kneel and pray
And say “Thank You, Jesus!” for giving us this CHRISTMAS DAY.

Have you ever heard the cry of the broken hearted?
Whose heart bleeds as it pleads as a result to losing, the one girl, he needs
Humble your heart and mind and access with empathy; well enough to perceive it clearly
I must warn you, it’ll be the worst cry you’ll ever hear, because it’s awfully too near to fear
Like how raindrops can replace your tears’ flowing outwardly from the inside
Falling like thunder-hunted by a lightning spear, shredding your thoughts to wander
As to what reality will be like to a dreamer, who cannot sleep; as he weeps and leaps?
Chasing memories which doesn’t exist coz’ he cannot resist but he persist on insisting, anyway
Whereas his heart plays jaggedly with the cards of sorrow, one bluff-it’s goodbye tomorrow
He bellows… like a rollercoaster ride, knowing, it’ll come again and again, turning boys to men
Turning strong men weak and feeble men weaker-all because he tried again, to seek her
All because he thought he needs her-He truly believes and grieves like thieves
Stealing time that was never his to reminisce inside a kiss only to see it spun onto this
Where his world gets weary as his eyes get teary watching the past unfolds to less than a theory
I digress, hoping that it’ll all be over in one second or less, unless, all, is but a test
I digress from digressing further, because everything’s a blur-like a nightmare slurring
He confuses me, when he talks about me as “I to a he” to a muse as though he too has lost his shoes
My head’s spinning-trying to find the right words to a song; a right place to belong
I’ve gone and reached ahead while the unknown future still trapped in my bed; unwed from reality
Uncoupled from normality where the only exception to the rule was to cry and so I play the fool
He cries as I cry, sending our “goodbyes” to the sky, trusting that one day, I will get to fly
As for now, I’ll embrace the pain with a little bit of salt and let it settle inside my private vault
Where all my promises and wishes and dreams can come true, and while I’m there… I’ll think of you

It takes a long voyage to find the right road
A battle field that everyone has told
Face thy fear though heart may be shatter unto pieces
It might be a facade so hold thy tears with fears
Bravery in you and likeness
Of a warrior named Achilles
Be with a mighty sword as you face thy opponent
Victorious duel without bafflement
Anxiety strikes for illusions of being apart
Afraid to lose you with julienne heart
Love me for real my childhood dream
Even when the scene of sunset meets the horizon with hymn
We are all too fallible
We do commit some tidbits of failures
But for eternity, you will always be my man
And I’ll give you my heart for the best I can
It’s a far smile from those halcyon days
Though we undergo labyrinth in many ways
And at times I become lachrymose and weak
Your tender affection is what my heart seeks
But never be at daggers drawn
Life is definitely accompanied with storm
It’s a promise that I will never lose heart for you
It’s a real love for you my beau

I now live for Jesus and Jesus lives in me
I feel His creation as to who He wanted me to be
As I read His Words, my heart and mind begins to remember
Of how much God truly loves me; stretching his arms a-cross forever
And from His strife’s He has paved the road, brick by brick as for the sins I owed
I have lived long enough independent, in my own understanding, who am I kidding?
I know now that I can’t do it on my own, I need the Holy Spirit, so I’ll never be alone
It took me awhile to know I am free; my heart was blinded by the world’s philosophy
But now is the time to put the old things away and breathe this day in a special way
It’s now time for the art to do the creating; following the path where God is waiting
I now ask you, whoever is reading this, come with me in search for a spiritual bliss
I promise you, you’ll not going to be sorry; where God is, you’re part of the story
We are brothers and sisters, you and I; we are destined to live beyond the sky
We’re born as a reflection of our father’s Father; blessed by the Holy water
If by chance you’re wondering where you are, in our journey in the dark
We are heading straight home towards the light; you’re in Noah’s Ark

What is love?
Hmm! Love simply is what it is
Maybe, a simple hug sealed within a kiss
A twinkle in the eye or a smile that can melt hearts into butter
If you were to give it another kiss; would turn that butter into a flutter
Lub-dub! Lub-dub! It is as if your heart being reborn inside a sigh! Ahhhh!
That sounds just about right like a cup-cake with full of ice cream on top, yeah!
Or is it just as plain or as gentle as a breeze... Making you feel rightly at ease
Or a big word like a metamorphosis; the turning of a butterfly to a cocoon
Meanwhile without you ever knowing it, you start talking to the moon
Love breathes within a moment; in the touching of the hands
Love speaks in a language only the hearts can understand
Love walks with you when all your intentions are pure
Love listens when you are ready; love is the cure
Love endure and it will always come your way
Love is faithful-ly embedded inside your DNA

One plus one will always equal into two
As your faith in grace-that was what saved you
It’s like measuring the distance from A to B to C
The strife’s of Jesus Christ has lit the light in me
The key through His word is like planting a seed
That once it takes root, will supply all our needs
Just imagine riding a bicycle-we’ll never forget
What Jesus went through into paying our debts
All that is required is to just believe in His name
Once the truth begins-you’ll never be the same
Like raindrops falling in the desert, God is good
Quenching our thirst to bless the neighborhood
A kid with a ruler can draw a perfect-straight line
We too needs one to see; our lives are intertwine
We are fishes in the same net, dying from thirst
Fighting for absolution; as to who can get it first
But it’s not from work, God measures our deeds
A faith as puny as a mustard-seed; is all we need

I was walking… I was strolling, at the park one day
When all of the sudden, guess, what did I see?
Okay, it was a pretty lady and she was looking at me
And she did it as though, it was something that was meant to be…
Oh!!!How beautiful she looked, from head to toe
Like someone, one could only see from a movie or a show
I couldn’t help but wonder why she would look at me so
That my friend is what I really and truly liked to know
And then she smiled, Oh! What a beautiful light, in her face, did I see?
It was like looking at a “Sun-setting”; kissing the sea
At that very moment, I got weakened to my knees
And learned my first lesson to the birds and bees
So, I whispered a little prayer and asked God for a key
To inspire me to grasp the kind of gift, He had in-stored for me
But as I was about to do what I measured; as my destiny
Was when I also finally realized
She was no longer looking at me, down to the tee
But at the guy standing right next to me
