They come out 
on weekends
Dad, it's almost 
always Dad
with a daughter 
or son.
He stands just a 
little too close,
smiles just a 
little too long
uncomfortably 
comfortable
wondering
how it ever
got this way.

He cannot answer
all the questions
they both know
things sometimes
change but
he will always 
be there
helping as best 
he can....
