Best Come Forward Poems
This is a well deserved tribute that I'd like to share
For those wonderful people working in our health care
Doctors, nurses, paramedics and admin staff too
Auxiliaries and cleaners risking their lives for you.
All over the world ex health staff answered a call
To form with ex colleagues a formidable wall
Against the Coronavirus that's bringing death and misery
Infecting thousands of people in every country.
Many people have come forward offering their services too
Performing none medical tasks that nurses often do
And those vulnerable people who are living in isolation
Looked after by volunteers bringing food and medication.
Father Beradelli an Italian priest his life he did give
Refusing a ventilator so that a younger person might live
The list of good deeds by strangers whom we'll never know
Would fill volumes of books and continues to grow.
The army, police and fire-fighters are playing a part too
Trying to keep some normality for me and for you
Shops and supermarket staff too are on the front line
Delivery drivers moving goods to secure a lifeline.
There are many more unseen heroes not mentioned here
But memories of their actions we will always hold dear
You the reader can play your part even one small kind deed
By helping neighbours and strangers in their hour of need.

Why would a 12-year girl want to die?
What would make a 12-year-old girl end her life?
Why would a 12-year-old girl want to say goodbye?
Now I lay here with an empty bottle of pills by my side.
It was just too much to hide.
My little brother found me on my bathroom floor.
He went screaming out the door.
The ambulance came and I heard voices fading away.
I can still make out what they say.
Why would a 12-year girl want to die?
What would make a 12-year-old girl end her life?
Why would a 12-year-old girl want to say goodbye?
Now I lay in a hospital bed.
He can’t hurt you anymore the nurse said.
Thank god the gun box was locked.
Now theirs a knock.
The cops came in and said my sister talked.
They said after what my father did he will never walk.
Why would a 12-year girl want to die?
What would make a 12-year-old girl end her life?
Why would a 12-year-old girl want to say goodbye?
He came in my room at night.
Something’s a child just cant fight.
Tired of living with this dirty feeling.
Tired of all together feeling.
Why Daddy Why?
Why would you make me cry, lie, and all-together die?
Why would a 12-year girl want to die?
What would make a 12-year-old girl end her life?
Why would a 12-year-old girl want to say goodbye?
Mom didn’t know.
She said it wasn’t my fault and beyond my control.
They said there were more.
They just were scared to come forward before.
Now I’m on the stand facing a child molester.
The lawyer asks my father.
Why would a 12-year girl want to die?
What would make a 12-year-old girl end her life?
Why would a 12-year-old girl want to say goodbye?
What did you do that was so bad that your daughter wanted to die?
I am not a detective or a sleuth,
but what I write about is only the truth.
You are not going to like what I have to say,
but the truth has to come out some way.
September 11, 2001 is what I am going to talk about.
Now you don't have to believe this, but just hear me out.
Many people have come forward about the attacks.
They are physicists, and Ivy League teachers with facts.
They said when I saw them fall I was a little weary.
They said the building came down in a pancake theory.
This is impossible for it to fall that fast and that way.
They fell faster than free fall speed, something was moving it out of the way.
They mentioned the crash in the field,
and how no metal was found to yield.
Its a proven fact that 14 tons of steel can't vaporize.
The only way it can is by an illusion to your eyes.
Well lets say it did vaporize by the heat underneath.
What type of fire melts metal and leaves people's teeth?
That is how the passengers were identified.
Still not believing me, or on my side?
It took the fighter jets 80 minutes to get there.
Why did it take so long going 650 mph in the air?
This part might give you the chills.
The jets were confused because they were running the exact same drills.
Yes, two planes were hijacked and their target is the twin towers.
That is the exercise they were running in those fateful hours.
So now what about the plane that flew onto Pentagon's lawn?
No one knows, all the video tapes were confiscated in 5 minutes and are gone.
Where was Bush Sr. during this whole ordeal?
He was with Osama Bin Laden's brother getting a meal.
They were caught on video tape four blocks away.
When he was confronted about this he said “uummm...I have nothing to say.”
There are so many facts I am leaving out of this tryst.
If you want to see the evidence then on youtube watch 9/11 zeitgeist.
"Syzygy"
Behind the wet dunes
fringed with seagrass
a blood crescent
kisses the forehead
of dreamer traversed
twin aeon syzygy
barefeet the velvet
sophia imprints
softly speak
like words seen
dancing across
the place between
heaven and earth
mapping deviations
non-standard
calibrating alignment
played forward through
unchartered jaded
emerald forests
where the satin skin
becomes sparkling
crystalline it shatters
like a shell disgarded, then
the body of no substance
becomes transparent
enveloped in rapturous
Devabani heralding
commands cast
from divine throats
lutes and sitars
whirling nightingales
dervishes wingspanned
accompany angelic legions
the journey melts into
deep blue mysterious oceans
easily walked, hypnotic the
transparent beckoning,
this is the way come,
come, come closer
closer, come forward,
on higher Elysian steppes
the bride smiles
an unspoken secret
and turns
the eyes are
twin windows
like doorways
opening
swallowing

This coin depicting a head of man with laurel
is a rare treasure from the American History,
as an auctioneer I could sell it for a large
sum of money: its estimated price is over
two-thousand-dollars, it shows it was minted
in eighteen-ninety-four, come forward and bid!
I found it among pennies I saved for rainy days,
there must be at least four thousand of them;
my collection includes contemporary silver dollars,
many generations must pass to accumulate value...
any other collector would action them any day!
I jealously hold onto them to own a piece of History:
how they glitter in glass cases on my walls!
I may donate them to the American History
Museum in Manhattan and see them on display!
Many auctioneers would love to get hold of my silver coin,
their mind is set solely on greed, not thinking of its history
which can unravel fascinating details about of its minting process;
the unknown artisan was very skilled in itching date and image
on both sides to testify the greatness and wealth of this nation,
but Americans don't realize that they are very wealthy indeed!
Back in the fifties
America seemed much calmer
McCarthy's commie blacklists
Sputnik's shocking launch
Ike's wife Mamie so sedate
That pre-historic hairdo
World War Two over
We needed some time to heal
Alan Ginsburg penned his 'Howl'
Chuck Berry goosed his walk
The West Wing conservative
White House picket-fence painted
Boom! an explosion
Cultural revolution
Sixties' deaths brought us down
Hendrix, Morrison
Jackie became Onassis
Where's JFK's Camelot
Seventies came, went
Eighties crashed, burned, flamed out too
But Jerry Rubin's Wall Street
Greed ruled the Nineties
Internet changed all of us
The world at a click-click-click
New Millenium
Rapid change hurtles forward
People do change, however
Shootings dot landscape
Retreat into our smartphones
Loneliness Unconnected
Now the Age of Trump
Rears its flame-orange mane and screams
Me-too Movement gains traction
Women come forward
Teen suicide rate rises
Society imperiled

Is there a beast so fierce,as to have no pity. To make tears of blood, run from an unborn childs eyes. Must sweet roses die,as they dry up and wither. A portrait of insanity, young children marching off to war. No man is an island, nightmares wake us ever screaming. Thieves come forward, dressed in the guise of politicians. To crush our dreams and hopes, with false promises and lies. Rule number one,is young fools die in useless wars. Like sand in an hour glass, time is trapped forever. Inside one man's pain,is another man's pleasure. Found hiding in the shadows, underneath a killing moon. Bells they do toll, and death stands forever laughing. As the soils of this earth, run forever red with blood. The crimson smell and taste, ever present in your senses. Like lambs in a field, ever moving to the slaughter. Old politicians start wars, yet the young die and suffer. Nowhere to turn and run, when caught within insanity. Brother killing brother, over things they fail to understand. Living in a nightmare, where the beasts are politicians.
After a long winter spell, the beauty of a spring day takes my breath away
its good when the trees stretch out their leafy green arms and say Heh
and the flowers after a long awaited hour push forth with brave hurray,
the beauty of the springtime, takes my breath away...
Hand painted bird houses hanging from a backyard, bathed in sunlight
Bluebirds, house wrens, chickadees, tree swallows and house sparrows
these are some of the beautiful creatures that come forward
to eat the bounty you have so lovingly prepared,
in springtime...
Little snowdrops, flowering Quince, daffodils and so much more
we shed our winter clothing and in sandals we are ready to explore
with carefree walks along the shore, we are ready to adore
every sweet day of sunshine, that comes our way.
Am I an oak today?
Or a willow?
I stare into my soul
Which one is going to benefit me?
I see myself in flexible terms, but
have I already bent too far backwards?
I am lingering at the water’s edge
staring into the pool of self fulfillment
waiting to see what strengths come forward.
A large oak tree begins to grow
out of the center of the lake
Showing me what is needed
to survive
I smile as she rises
stronger and taller
than ever before
I can hear wolves
howling their approval.
It is enough.

I read a notice in the paper about a free Church dinner
“I’m going, this will be a winner”
Saturday morning I sped out to eat
Thinking this is really a big treat.
I walked thru the big arch doors
Heard an organ playing on the first floor
“Gee that’s nice, music while you dine
This had to be just something real fine.
So many people sitting in rows
Ends of the seats all taped with bows
This may be a long wait to eat I thought
I remembered there were no tickets to be bought.
A young lady approached me with a smile
I asked if this was going to take awhile.
Long table with candles at the front of the church
But I didn’t see any food during my search.
A man up front, a waiter I thought to be, told me to come forward
With all the people still waiting, I felt really awkward
The organ played, I thought now I will get my meal
Everyone stood up as the lady came down, “my gosh this is unreal’
The waiter asked me ‘do you take her’
Couldn’t well hear, I was in a blur,
Thought he said “do I want take out”
‘Yes he does’ a man did shout.
The waiter then asked me for the ring
Didn’t know that was something to bring.
Then I notice she carried a pale blue bouquet
I then realized, a shock hit me---- ‘mayday” “mayday’
The waiter exclaimed, ‘you may now kiss your wife
“She’s now married to you for life”,
The wedding march sounded, what did I say?
I know now never to go to church on Saturday,
Pleasure is.
So sweet the seasons sounds,
That makes for those summer days.
Skies make for a back drop of hues of blue,
Sweet mowing grass now sheared as hay.
Upon my face the beads of perspiration,
As I wipe my fevered brow.
The days now long as I swing forth the scythe,
High above the sun beats down.
A shout breaks my concentration,
For it is Mary who is my love.
Under a large oak tree she shelters,
Truly a pure vision from above.
For with her a wicker basket,
Its contents now lay out before.
She beckons me come forward,
Asl my senses cry out for more.
In her tender arms my head gently lies,
Beneath a canopy of green.
Dappled sun light highlights her flowing hair,
For the world id trade, for these moments gleaned.

Sexual harassment is a beast that stains the inner
being of vulnerable women. Their vibrant spirit has
been attacked and like a rose without thorns, have
ask society for help.
these valiant women have found the remedy for
their degradation. Now, these women enjoy the
refreshing breeze from snow-covered mountains
their spirits had yearn for.
There are others who have endured this harassment
but like a butterfly dancing around a garden, have not
yet had the courage to come forward. For the butterfly
is aware of the vicious ants waiting if the try to rest.
Men have and continue to suffer the agony and
discomfort from powerful women corrupted by power.
These females subject their male subordinates to
their whims. The dignity and pride of these men
have melted away like ice in a warm Spring day,
These disgraced men endure the touching, the suggestive comments and the dinners at their bosses homes or apartments. The web has been laid and she expects them to satisfy their needs. These men have families to support and after all, they are men so they keep quite.
Being a man and complaining would mean more humiliation and fear of society who have their ideas of men and women. The community would laugh and portray them as weak and less than manly so like an infant without a voice, they endure.
There is no blame or shame
in sometimes not being the same.
Woes will oft times call our name
even if we live a life without blame.
The secret is to play the game
whilst our hearts we tame
giving the finger to the dame
of misfortune who is in the frame.
Revoking things of ill fame
bad things we set aflame
and their sins we disclaim.
It is all about playing the game.
So come forward without shame
you are who you are, so your life reclaim
and at the end of the day proclaim
to all, I am me without any blame.
Many years ago, way back in time the month of April was known as the Blackthorn Winter,
It was the time of the year when the blackthorn begins to dress in her finest blossom,
Deep in the country the small hamlets custom says is the time for bitter cold weather,
Time for east and north-easterly hard winds chill all, hail, sleet and sometimes snow.
The blackthorns and the plums in sheltered orchards awaken and begin to come to life,
They quickly showed themselves thickly clustered with tiny little green bursting buds,
Blue whiteness of the blossom half revealed, like the wide smile of a beautiful girl,
A rich white that makes your heart and eyes light up at the sight of unrivaled beauty.
Cold are the winds buds of trees swell and they grow like a naturally beautiful woman,
They come forward and bloom standing cold but fearless, determined to wait for the sun,
On cold grounds a lilac stands it looks so green flushed with it's half-unclosed leaves,
A yellow rose fights to start its new life just as custom says in a Blackthorn Winter.
