Best Better Than Ever Poems

Premium Member Great Wall of China and Then Some

Block by block it starts to rise, Great Wall of China begins,
A barrier to stem the horde, marauding Mongolians,
Must be bigger and better, than ever attempted before,
Also should be breathtaking, far into the clouds will soar.

Where on earth do we start, going be thousands of miles long,
Everywhere at once, of course, otherwise it’d all go wrong,
Need to find lot’s of workers, ten million on the ground,
This is China, unlimited manpower, labour forces abound.

Build a wall upon mountain ridges, never been tried before,
Yeah it’s a pickle ok, most shall die, replaced by millions more,
Emperor decrees, “Thy Will Be Done” no matter what it takes,
Nothing can impede our way, even the country’s deepest lakes.

So onwards and upwards it goes, for better or maybe worse,
Now he demands a road atop, for soldiers to ride their horse,
Crowning glory, the beacon towers, seen from all around,
These almighty fires, warn our armies, from hilltops to town.

Like most things in life, comes with a double edged sword,
So ulterior motive triumphs, for planners and overlords,
Even back then, a master stroke, laughs Dynasty of the Ming,
By keeping invaders out, our slaves imprison themselves within.

She Is More

She doesn't trust easily anymore, you can see
that in the distance she creates between herself
and everyone around her, but she has so much love
to offer, and you can see this in the kindness of her
smile that she gives out to everything and everyone.

She has millions of chaotic pictures of thoughts, thousands
of tangled up worlds of words and places in her mind, you see
it in the way her eyes always seem lost, like they are somewhere
else.

Her longing to be somewhere else, shows in the way she's always
rushing and moving, the way she's always restless.
Life never went easy on her and she didn't go easy on herself either.
She is so strong and you can see it on her face, you can sense it in her
voice, there is wisdom.

She believed that her body would physically heal and rebuild itself.
I think that's because she had faith in herself even after life had
broken her. She got up off the ground and dusted herself off.
She knows what it's like to be under-appreciated or dis-respected,
but yet she is humble and at peace with the darkness and not afraid
to be alone.

So if you can't see the beauty in her pirate smile and quirky ways,
and if you don't think that maybe she might be a little piece of magic,
but instead consider her a distorted painting; You would be wrong,
because she is a masterpiece of her own creation after the aftermath
of the long, long journey onward from where she came.
She is about something good, because she knew she could,
and that to her, is a love better than ever known.

She is Love, She is a Woman, Bold & True, Strong yet gentle in her
heart and hands when she wipes away the tears from days long gone by.
Notice the thousand yard stare, it was earned by every mile walked alone, when compassion for her was none. Sure footed she stands a single soul
on a two way path of right or wrong. Know she is aware of the darkness
in this world, but for her, it was better than home.

Heart Reserrector

* This is a poem about basically feeling like when a part of yourself dies. Then certain
people can come along and make that one part feel alive and better than ever
because you trust them to be just yourself*

The serpent of Unrequited love
Sunk it’s toxic fangs deep into the very marrow of my being
My heart heaved with its poison, which was void of loving emotion
So I tucked it away…… six feet under my subconscious…
My mind was a cemetery of regrets.
Things I should have done, and when I should have learned to walked away.

Then there was you……………
You were the misty avenger that stepped out of the abyss
Shook my snow globe world upside down.
Speckling my VISION with light, snow and glitter
Heart reserrector, you’re honesty was my defibulater
Thumping life organ through my sweater
coloured my cheeks a candy apple red from pleasure
giving me the courage to break free from the prison of woeful

We lay on your carpet, filling our lungs with laughter
I am Exposed, and exuberant……. Letting my true personality resurface
No longer am I a hesitant seal peeking over the ocean’s surface,
NO LONGER DO I MISS THE SUNSETS
I AM EUPHORIC ON THIS GORGEOUS LIFE
Drinking down the pleasure of a sunrise

This moment with you ……………………..is a Utopian treasure
You take my breath away… and your beauty is immeasurable…………………….
Heart reserrector
Your wisdom is celestial,
My guardian angel
For your insight I am eternally thankful

My Darkest Days

In the dark days, everything goes away. But the Pain will stay. If only I could cure
the worlds sickest. Take the pain and make me the weakest. Out there
somewhere MY dreams will be filled. Since I’ve changed, since I stopped taking
those Pills. Everything revolved around me, but now I’m not so friendly. More pills
to ease the pain, more pills to take me away into lightest days.
The Lightest Days were we all roam and play, the sick and pain will
go away. Better than ever. Nothing to Level, but still the bumpy road is in the past.
My life was hard, my chances are far. But I’ve made it, last into the days of the
past.

Better Than Ever

"Better Than Ever"

Took a lot of tries
Opened up my eyes
And became wise

Thought
A lot
Took a shot
And got after what I sought
Fought against torment and rot
So oft
People mock
It never ceases to stop
Finally connected the dots
I took it to a higher notch
Time is what it cost
Pondering, whether I ought to or not
As I sat atop a peculiar spot
Where many lives were lost
On a morning with frost

It's a sphere, not flat
As time continues to elapse
This is where I'm currently at
Staying on track
Honing my craft
Had some nice chats and so many laughs
On this world, I've had a blast
Won't be the first or the last

Can't let the opportunity pass
When she crosses my path
Because I'm still looking for my other half

What an adventure!
It's been a pleasure
Doing better than ever
Being clever
Through endeavors
Handling stressors
And pressure
In any weather
Getting an accurate measure

I found some treasure
While in the air was a zephyr

Never
Going to be a pretender
From January to December

I might be of the same feather
But I don't always want to flock together

Can't surrender
Or settle for lesser

A lot of benders
Eyes slightly redder
Stoking some embers
I still remember
All the splendor

God bless her
I wrote you a letter
And left it on the dresser
Beside a craft made with leather

Say Goodbye

I seen your face
 I felt your embrace
And it just wasn't the same
I finally walked away without lookin' back to call out your name

Once you were my best friend
Once I swore I'd be yours to the end

But I guess its time to say goodbye
Many of times you have clipped my wings but now its time for me to fly
I still remember all the drunken fights
I still remember all the sad lonely nights
 It was constant infedlity
My only prayer was to be set free

Thats not a place a girl can call home
Life is better when I'm out on my own

Sleepin' in alleys, living off dumpster buffets, and seeking dope
Stealing and lying is no longer my only hope

I won't fall for what you have to say
I refuse to cry for you today
I have come so far and moved onto something more
Life is better than ever before

But I guess its time to say goodbye
Many of times you have clipped my wings but now its time for me to fly

“hope floats from purple petals to ebony buds”
- Silent One

In darkness, I dreamt in color,
with eyelids fluttering like butterflies.
I’d thought I’d see sunlight,
before I fell into a trance, but hope
tickled the air and the sandman was there,
not to torture but to divine adventure.

“Purple petals and ebony buds,” like pollen
sticks to the fluttering wings of butterflies.
In cruising altitude, felicity is decked out.
The garden site’s lit up with fairy lights.

Trellis rose blooms, suave in velvet,
like a smartly dressed groom in a new tuxedo.
I float, in my restful state, as a bright butterfly,
better than ever, testing my titillated wings.

In darkness, I dreamt in color.
In sunlight, I awaken to the tease
of a truant dream, a rose plucked
and tenderly tickles my cheek and neck;
silent is the touch of a purple leafwing.

Bye Bye Sandy

I feel bad that you all got to stand on my path for your livelihood said sandy, Sandy will be less harmless in the days ahead. Sandy is glad to have a short life span. Sand is trying as much as possible to give you folks only the crumbs of her majesty cruelty. The peace and progress of this wonderful nation is too much, we shall never reduce it to minimum .
I regret why I brought rush into your quiet lives. Sandy regret why she brought pains into your lives. Sandy regret why she put sorrows into your lives. I regret why I brought tears into your lives. Sandy is just a tourist. My coming is sudden my departure is so sudden.
Sandy you brought down all our lifetime achievements but thank for given us a second chance. Sandy you brought tears into our hearts. Sandy you brought blood into our eyes. Sandy whiles us. We will be firmed to pick up shattered pieces impose on us by you when you will be far gone. Bye sandy.
Sand you make me shaver, you make me fear Sandy. Sand you make the trees and buildings of the nation capital tremble as if it was the capital of the unbrave. I will not be ashamed to start all over again dear Sandy, we almost love you only if we will not see you again so soon bye sandy. Sandy we known we have been stung by your wicked venom but we will over come it Sandy.
I will tell my cousin Katarina not to frequent come on land again but both of us are still storbbone said Sandy. If Human Beings were borne educated our society will be a very perfect one said Sandy. Sandy our subways will go better than ever. Sandy we promise to keep a fatherly eye on you dear. Bye san…

Tales of Helsinki and Skateboarding

It smells a little like Christmas
Cold and kind of like peaches-don't make fun of that
And it's not even September
And this time I swear if you jump off that
I'm not going to the hospital
My blood stained shirt from the show
Still smells of clove cigarettes
How can you still look so good?
Never Summer.
There's something wrong with us-- really.
Yeah, cause you'll want that there in fifteen years.
You are such an-
You got the idea four cliche's ago
Hi, hello. Yes. Thank you. Come on in.
Our subliminal messages will begin in 2.5 seconds.
You like the way you make me feel like a child.
And You're not allowed to talk anymore.
A bit chilly outside--okay, blizzard.
Don't go out in that. Doubt the car will make it back.
Taste of deep red wine. Reminds me of the word Cabaret.
Funny shows, it's like they won't let you go
Is everything broken?
Lock my bedroom door.
We're trying to have a conversation...okay, sure.
God I love the life you've made
Out there on a ramp
With everyone watching, my clothes fit better than ever
Like the hat, give him that back
One in the same
Nothing in common, no more useless input
Is that real? Really, is it?
We're going out tonight. I want you to go.
Especially when I see you 3 times a month.
How many ideas can you steal? Make it part of your own appeal.
I don't know how mnay more times I can laugh at that one
So I'll set on the snow
Think of where we are
And what you all did to my car...
This was the best time wer ever had
Then I'll go inside
Try to light our fireplace. Failure.
Be careful. You can stay with me. We'll stay inside.
It's your bedroom, but you still knock on the door before you come in
So glad I live here
If only everything was this easy for everyone as it is for them
This is the part I always wanted to play
Is this what you always want me for?
I love your face and hands
And the way you just don't care
So naive. That turns you on, I know enough to know that.
Have I really lost that much weight?
Things are so great it makes me upset.
Be my serious side and I'll be your soul
Are they still out there?
Better go check to make sure they're alive.
You love me.
And I love this.

I Love Africanamerican Christian Culture: Forgiving Slaveholders and Tyrants

Some serious religious sophomores claim Christ ('Witness' Bluff)
Almost like Columbus: to hit the Other, take their STUFF

Nothing Doing here; I am a Minister of Jesus' Gospel
For the same Reason they fled HERE to Native Indian lands

Catholics to Lord Baltimore's Maryland, Puritans to Massachusetts;
Persecuted Quakers to Penn's America - for debts Kings owed the Admiral

(Indentured white servants came in thousands, here and in the Islands
There's no shame; we are all sinners, or erstwhile peasants, made Kings)

Don't dare preach to me to abandon my dress, language, culture
While you want nothing of Jesus, and His Gospel that saves sinners like us

THE SECOND COMING WILL NOT BE TELEVISED, OR ON FACEBOOK
NOR WILL IT BE APPROVED BY THE MILITARY, UN, OR the WHITE HOUSE

This world has enough of such CHRIST claimants
Even Jehovah's Witnesses tell me to forget my ancestors

So she can rest assured, make the world safer for Imperialism
No, Sir. No Ma'am. Jesus never asked me to lose my language, wisdom ...

To become akin to POPES, priests, Luther, Calvin, Puritans of Boston
Who killed four Quakers before 1660; just 40 years post-Mayflower arrival!

THE SECOND COMING WILL NOT BE TELEVISED, OR ON FACEBOOK
NOR WILL IT BE APPROVED BY THE MILITARY, UN, OR the WHITE HOUSE

That was not all; Roger Williams fled Boston, for fear of forced deportation
Was fair to Natives, now America's first Baptist. Not so for Anne Hutchinson

She was expelled from MBC (Massachusetts) when pregnant with child #8
She never survived the flight, but did open up Portsmouth (Rhode Island)

So when we think those South Africans of Indian descent must change ...
I ask, As Columbus wanted change? As the Puritans? Those slaveowners?

Thank God the Slaves kept their African culture in America
And made Christianity BETTER than ever, gifting us such SAINTS as Dr. King!

So there!

THE SECOND COMING WILL NOT BE TELEVISED, OR ON FACEBOOK
NOR WILL IT BE APPROVED BY THE MILITARY, UN, OR the WHITE HOUSE

Average Lazy Bum

He’s just your average lazy bum —
a sweet, lovable loser
Who loves to stick his index finger
high in the air,
and tell you he’s number one
When in fact, technically,
his favorite sports team is
It’s success by association,
as he moons the neighborhood kids
Because he don’t have much else going on in his life,
in the way of personal achievements
Lost a good job,
lost his good wife
Even his best friend ran away twice
Doggone it!
But rest assured, he loves living
the surf bum life
He’s just your regular couch potato,
a sour grapes eating man-bear
Giving out high-five grunts
when he snore
Highlight reel dreams of when his team
made the game-winning score
As a matter of fact, technically,
the refs blew the call ...
his team never shoulda had the ball
He once entertained big dreams,
as a two-sport high school stud
Now, he’s a balding barrel of trash talk,
his star flamed out ... now his fizzled life is a dud
It crash landed with a thud
He blames everybody but himself,
as he cracks open another Bud
Flagstaff Flash is just your average lazy bum,
sweeping the carpet on his chest
for any broken taco shells or salad croutons
Relaxing all day in his Laz-e-Boy,
got his beefy hand on the five-position lever
Life ain’t never been so carefree good ...
he’s winning again,
as his fantasy team is doing better than ever

"Don't throw the baby out with the bath water," please the water was clean after
father and mother and the water was better than ever even after the brother but
when eye took my bath the poor baby was lost they looked in the drain but poor
baby was gone there forever. The moral is kept as a memorial there does not
toss out the clean water.
A coward dies a thousand times but a hero dies but once and a man who lives
much like a DOG is always spit upon but to be a dog still tied to the living is more
to be desired than heroing because the bible says a man who lives is better
than the dead.
We will get married in JUNE no we will marry in JULY or even MAY is better
because the ewe is born the first time in the month of May showers and what’s in
JULY well the CHARLAX was born and bred.
Bread was given out according to status. Workers were given the burnt bottom of
the loaf, the family got the middle and guests got the top or the "upper crust."
The loaf of bread is still the status but now the homeless man gets his loaf
without the burnt part on. Eye am now the uppermost crust.
Making the batter up planting the leaven worth leaving the center for mye family
clan.
Pease and thankzx ewe one and all for peas given do not thaw until the fall from
vine refine the peas and make a handful last for days.
This is why the nursery rhymers’ fortold:
Peas porridge hot, peas’ porridge cold, pea’s porridge in the pot nine days old."
Enter laughing.
It was a sign of wealth that a man could "bring home the bacon." They would sit
around with guests, cut off a bit of pork and "chew the fat." Then they would toss
the ole pigskin.
Play leap pig again. Slop the children. Smoke the hambone and root in the cellar.
What a feller this poet seems at work. He has a eiger counter at his home.

The worst thing that ever happened was the whole web page disappeared to the
right of my screen once eye was able to snag it and bring it back but that seems
so impossible how that even worked and it only worked a few times not always
and when it went it went too far away and the mouse would not retrieve it and the
only thing that eye could do was to log off and back on and that won't work not
anymore.
The pain in my poor sober jaw the suffering that eye do for love is worth the price
of admission to heaven when we go.
Once there just inside the door there is a field of purple flowers where my
mansion lays in wait a picnic has been set complete with chicken fried steaks
and ice cream cones for me and mye parme.

She's Back

All you can say about this young lady
Is that she's back and performing better than ever
Just to see her competing in exhibitions is enough
To tell me that she has the tools it takes to be a gymnast
Her name's Kim Zmeskal better known as "Kimbo"!

She would have been a member of the 1996 U.S. Women's Team
But she suffered a severe knee injury
When she tried to come back out of retirement
And had to be sidelined for a while but she's back.

She was a member of the 1992 team
That won a bronze medal at the Olympics
And became the third U.S. team in history to win a medal.

She had an awesome career in gymnastics
With’ six perfect tens and nine international titles
And if she's still able to compete in competitions
There's no telling how many more titles she will win.

I fell in love with her the very first time
I saw her compete in a competition on TV
When she leaped into my heart and has stayed
And she became my first and favorite sweetheart!

But Sacrifice

Actions speak louder than voice, they say
Words think louder than thoughts, I say
Always listening to me feels better than ever, you say
But sacrifice…

It’s the reason why we are here
It’s the soul of existence
It’s the advance nature of our true selves
Yet goes beyond self

It’s more honest than spoken words
It’s more resounding than music

 It’s more than just feelings
It’s borne out of a genuine heart
It’s an extension of our inner convictions
The total expression of true love

For what greater sacrifice hath a man than this
That a man gave up his life for his friend
