our God is bountiful because

Jesus is Robin Hood turning the tables in the forest temple

and Friday treasures an island of hope in my child’s mind

‘you can be a pirate as long as you don’t turn a blind eye’

patches up sorrow and heartache tattooed in its wisdom

bountiful when the snake shares a candy apple with Newton

as everything hangs in the balance of gravity’s fallen sword

when you remove the splinter from blind sighted cataracts

before asking for a new lens without polishing your view

bountiful when kind men from Mars soothe night terrors

because aliens are friends and ride on Dinosaur’s wings

the world becomes as you see it in the light of your dreams

and the chocolate bar holds coconut filling every now and then

bountiful when the cross rots away and nails get a grip onto

new pastures and the sweet tasting promise of sacred droplets

for tears are washed away in the face of anger ceding to faith

and water baptizes the soil for small seeds to nourish the soul

bountiful when the cocoa smeared lips’ immaculate smiles

prepare innocence for that hardship of life bearing the fruit

of patience resolve and happiness that derives from the source

and chews at the gnawing feeling of doubt until it melts away

our God is bountiful because …

Say Yes, Poets

To the first breath you take.
To your morning coffee, so
wonderfully aromatic.
To that morning shower that
baptizes you.
To fill your thoughts with ideas,
that are awesomely poetic.
To your God, be especially
thankful to.

To the poem, that magically
dances your way.
To all the poets here, that they
have good health.
To having hands and a pen.
To be given yet another day,
to share your beauty again!

Moses and his sweet Molly Mouse
have a puzzling dilemma.
They have used all the names they know
from Marvalee to Maryemma.

They have followed all mouse name rules.
Each must begin with letter em.
After their hundreds of babies,
they have no more new names for them.

They can’t use Micky or Minnie,
for they know the unwritten rule.
Using gods or goddesses names
will make any mouse look a fool.

When Sally Squirrel comes to call,
the new mouse family to view,
they speak of their giant problem
and ask Sally, “What shall we do?”.

Sally swiftly offers to help,
but the fine ess names that she knows,
are rejected by the mouse pair,
“We surely can’t use one of those.”

Opie Oppossum arrives to ogle
and bring names with an oh or pee.
Moses objecting once again,
“They must start with an em, you see.”

Then Molly whispers to Moses.
“I will question Miss Mynah Bird.
Mynah is sure to remember
every em word she’s ever heard.”

Miss Mynah is very happy
to respond to their fervent plea.
She has a name for every child
they will live long enough to see.

There‘s Myra and Moira and Meg,
for the girl mice now in the nest..
Maurie and Mervin and Maleg,
are boy names passing the test.

The mouse pastor baptizes them
and as he pronounces each name,
Moses and Molly glow with pride.
Miss Mynah has saved them from shame.

Personification Moses and Molly Mouse, Sally Squirrel, Opie Oppossum, Mouse pastor

Good Ol' Triple-Six and the Eternal Drive-By - First Part

(There's a thirteenth 'zodiacal' constellation, Ophiucus, The Serpent Wrestler/Holder, or the "Twelth Symbol," as here used. In some ancient cultures, serpents were revered as feminine symbols of rebirth/healing, and bees as symbols of wisdom, while Roman catholicism considered coffee to be the "wine of infidels" until the 15th. century. Historically, Ophiucus may never have been used in astrology, though it is the house between Scorpio and Sagittarius in a astrological system purportedly developed in the mid-1900's, making Sagittarius the thirteenth sign in such a system - thus in this poem, "the Twelth Symbol" was "usurped by what used to be the thirteenth". Of course, "Good Ol' Triple Six" and other numerical variations thereof in this work refer to 666, the mythological number of the Anti-christ.)

I want a jeezus, unsweetened, decaffeinated, no additives -

- certainly no booze or needle tracks -

because I want a trim, uptight jeezus, totally pure and constipated

to pimp for the face-down with the Great-to-the-nth Numeral-Triplet,

because the descendant number of my measureless time

is a Trinity of the fourth primes-of-eighteen (no xeroxing

needed!)...

... my godpappy, William Blake, gone loony out of his goddam mind

over visions of seraphim and angels,

slapping the jaggedly unholy rhythm of a bawdy tune on my new-born

instead of blasphemating in a line way too long at The Mart?

Jacob Luetweiler

1865-1948

From Highland Illinois I travelled,

Travelled with wife, children and the family bible,

Came with stout brethren and brothers in the faith.

And my far-flung epitaph is this:

My friends, I have seen the rain!

I have held the rain in my cupped calloused hands,

Heard the rain as it descended like a demon!

Assaulting the dry land without mercy,

Annihilating the barren and dead land,

As it washes and whirls,

Whispers, envelops and quietly caresses.

My friends, I have stood in the rain!

Stood in the inundations at Beaumont,

Stood sentry and expectantly there,

In its merciful, cleansing invocations,

Stood watching the approaching rain,

Come to earth like dead children,

Come from heaven,

Come to bring drink to the thirsty valley,

Come to bring hope for the new harvest.

My friends, I have seen the rain!

Felt the rain as it purifies and slakes,

Baptizes and consecrates;

Seen the rain from my gaping window

Many times in old Beaumont,

Inside the white house by the river there,

With Fannie, my brood, and a murder of crows.

My friends, indeed, I have seen the rain!

Come to earth like dead children,

Come from heaven.

Flower Garden

She sits among the flowers on the ground.
A young flower amid a bed of thorns.
Genteel on this conspicuous platform,
with flowers gathered closely all around.
She baptizes with water from her hand,
then prunes the withered from this flower stand.
Unity is there among the weeds,
that strengthens fading petals on their stems.
Cultivating roots, distributing seeds,
elegant blossoms for her diadems,
with sweet nectar for all the birds and bees,
luring repasts from ancient recipes.

Purity Unmeasured

I imagine and experience you,
When you are not in my presence
My fantasies consist of showering you
With countless amorous treasures
The heavens weep in adoration,
Blessing my tribute to your exquisite essence
Angelic tears baptizes our spirits as one,
In purity unmeasured

Calm

A blissful calm settles my heart’s anxiety
Realizing the magnitude of your love – it inspires me
To become a better man and provider
Ensuring your heart stays enflamed with affectionate fires
My goal is to drown your existence with love and affection
Reviving your soul with the breath of my devoted essence
Creating a sanctuary for promotion of emotional and spiritual growth
Connecting our existence forever – as one unit we will forever prosper and grow

Such a natural feeling it is; to wake up thinking of you each day
You look through me piercing my emotional strongholds
Making it easy to express my true feelings in romantic ways
My spirit is caught in the purest of your essence
Leading me to your sacred sanctuary…your place, now… my home
All apprehensions have dissipated…leaving a willingness to simply adore
Adoration is promised…romantic energy ignites fires of blissful calm
Clearing the path for eternal love, devotion and romance to gracefully soar

Countless times your images have invaded my many dreams
Waking me abruptly…shaking from your sensual touch – reality or fantasy
Serene affection baptizes my distressed heart and spirit
Obliterating my fears of commitment…now I anticipate hearing it…
Hearing your continual showers of love and devotion
I am pledging them back to you…in three folds
I am seconding my aforementioned motion
Truthfully, I tried to hide when love announced its latest call
Loving you has been the antidote for my spiritual poisoning
This is why my soul and heart are now so blissfully calm

Fire and Water

Through fire and water my path had been set
Full of sins and distress that I couldn’t forget

In flame I was burnt and in water I flailed
From the midst of the pain to Yehovah I wailed

Through fire and water my Savior has passed
To seek out this lost lamb and He found me at last

He healed every wound; every sin He forgave
He has silenced my fears; He is mighty to save

In fire and water He purified me
All my filth, all my dross, now is gone–I am free!

I lose each mistake, selfish goal, sinful aim
In the stream of His grace and His love’s mighty flame

In fire and water His promise shall stand
“Do not fear, I will help you; I’m holding your hand”

I’m safe in the flames; floods can not push me down
For Yehovah, my shield, is my refuge, my crown

In fire and water He baptizes me
For I’m changed now–new life He has given to me

His life-giving stream rushes over my soul
With His Spirit, His flame, my weak heart is made whole

In fire and water I suffered much pain
But He took what was bad and He turned it to gain

For now that I’m clean I can know that I’ll be
With the righteous one day on a glass-fire sea

Premium Member Just Answer Him

Written in the silence
A thought
Little, like a hope
Melting colors in hues of grace
Through the mind
Over the soul – stirring
Whispers of a prayer

Written in the stillness
A word
Welcomed by poetry
Blameless moments
Erasing the past and comforting
The heart, with a caress
Embrace of light
Raining through the night
A star shines bright

Written in serenity
A sentence
Too old to be called novel
But the thought
Baptizes the dreams
In blazing shades of purple
Lasting lavender and truth
Purposes of the prayer
Pieces of the personality
Lifted up to God’s merciful hand
Praising His eternal gift

Written in the soul
His Son’s love
Falling down in blood stained
Hearts, who believe
Because His light fell across them
Their hearts, souls, breathless
Pieces of their being
His words are scars on hands
Marks that mean we’ve been freed
From the sins that said
We’d always be imprisoned
By the darkness, the dread, the feeling
That intended to end us

Written in silence
His love is forever calling

Just answer Him

Fire

Fire is used by God to burn
Out things in us that would make us turn
From Him-His goodness, His grace, His love
From our assignment that comes from above

Fire is what we go through
When we are being tested and tried
When it seems we more days we that
Smiled less than we cried

Fire tests our faith
Fire gives us strength
Fire baptizes us
Fire anoints us

Fire is also the driving force of Hell
Fire is used to there to torment the ungodly
Fire there is used to torment Satan and his angels
So-choose your fire!!

Premium Member Laughter

Laughter gentles hearts
Rippling through conversations
Joy spilling out
On the spirit with colors
Crisp and radiating
Wonderful dreams, peace
All the things
That hearts believe

Laughter, like a caress
Touches the mind
With insight and inspiration
Humble warmth, imagination
Growing earnest, light
Whispering on the silence
Music flows alive
Dancing on the air
Harmonizing with life
Amused at all our plans

Laughter baptizes souls
In elation, wonder
Rising through the pores
Sweating grace
In puddles of hope
Arising on the spirit
Awakening elation, exultation
Treasures found inside
Where pleasures reside
Embracing the light
Who spills out happiness
Through smiles, sighing
Blessings, prayers
New miracles rest there
Where the laughing smiles
Gesture to the skies

Laughter is a charm
Erasing worry and doubt
Freeing smiles, desire
For a life filled with light
And love so alive, abiding
Inside the one who deems
Grace portrayed
Raining down on those
Who know this is His way
Of filling every day
With feelings we pray
Never go away

Laughter wipes out
The doubt and dread
Flowing through the dark
To color the life in a love
That could only come from above

Still Water

Still water crashing apon the shore,
preserving all it drowns.
You can find it nuturing flowers,
find it rotting trees.
Seek it out in wells so deep,
running down steps so steep.
Evaporate it from stagnate pools in morn,
and condensate it from steam in evening.
For still water baptizes me in hands of John,
and heals me in your hydrotherapy.
And it will entertain in a child's water gun
streaming down from heaven above,
and forgetting hell below.
Oh praise thee still water.

What Is She

She quakes, She rumbles,
She moves the rivers.
She creates holes down toward Hell.
She tears apart homes
and families.
She makes the mountains bow down to mother earth.
She baptizes everyone with fire.

Inspiring me to feel the wonder of His overwhelming love!
