I am the sun that gave life to the world
The lamp hanging up on the wall
I am the conscience that speaks to your heart
The voice that whispers to your ears
I am the ink that expresses your mind
The blueprint that makes up your dreams
I am the dew that rest upon your morning
The strength you need when in pain
I am the star that makes up your night
The words that project your thoughts
I am the music that calms your nerves
The shadow that walks with you day and night
I am the memories you keep in your head
The time you have in your hands
I am your pride and dignity
The light that shows you a path in the dark
I am your companion when you are down
The love and affection you seek
For you will find me in your smile
I am forever present, I am the Lord

I am....
An Ashanti warrior A Bantu dancer
I am a Yoruba royal clothed in my Asooke
Dancing Adowa and kpalogo to tunes from wulomei and masekela
I am proud Masai
Standing around manyattas,
Jumping to melodies from the olaranyani
Eunoto is here and today I dance in front my peers in transition into a senior warrior
Oh how sweet the African rhythms
Imprudently lifting and soul soothing
Sisala sebrew on Akan drums
Highlife explorations unending on opus 1.
I am an Ewe woman
From the lineage of Nerfetiti
And a great great ....grand daughter of Nandi
My Gèle will never fall off
My Dashiki will never fade out
I am a Fulani herdsman
Wandering the Sahel plains of Africa
Along with a fellow Malinke brother
Who speaks fluent igbo and today we revisit our roots in Nok
I’m from Gao
320 km east-southeast of Timbuktu.
A descendant of Sonni Ali ,
Reciting the epic of Sundiata with intertwining soothing kora melodies from Kandia Kouyate
Oh how dazzling the African landscape
And glorious it's Heritage
Such rekindling and Homeric folklores
And a boundless diverse cultures
I am the African dream
mother's only son my father’s only daughter
I'm the incantations of royal fetish and message behind the talking drum
I am the African noble
Free from identity torment
I know of my glorious past and my colourful future
My city will bleed no more
Never again will i be a wanderer
I know my culture
And my alluring language
Ah how powerful the African names
Araba Termytorphe and Ifedayo chant in unity
Diallo Sissoko and Achiaa bestow serenity
Mbali and Lamisi elegantly wore their kente
Tonight we dance to tunes from the kete
For Yaa Asantewaa never gave up the fight
So we lift our hearts with emancipated minds
To reach new heights ! O’ Nana Nyame,
May you forever guide us with your light .

Wo P[(3)] Ny[(3)] H(c)! (1)
You, who forever will be so much bigger than just me,
Now our word 'Bigger' seems to beggar human greatest minds!
If YOU seemed just a star? (that man can hardly see) reminds
Of new GALACTIC form, where galaxies, not stars, the norm!
Your infinite dimensions shield us though from what intentions yield.
No human eye sees all! How grok your depths since we so small?
INFINITY that small infinities may hope to be when grown,
And yet somehow You show your care and listen to our moan,
We might by Grace enjoin your will; our praises have some value still,
Our egos serve (without our guile) most days to make our Father smile!
Brian Johnston

Poet's Notes:
(1) Translation: "Thy Will Be Done!"
'Brackets' in the title mean non-capital letters should get used. A 'Parenthesis' in the title means that a mirror image 'of a letter shown' gets used in the "Twi" language. Thus, may you get a picture of the written word.
Borrowed from Wikipedia: Twi (pronounced [t??i], or Akan Kasa) is a dialect of the Akan language spoken in southern and central Ghana by about 6–9 million Ashanti people as a first and second language. Twi is a common name for two former literary dialects of the Akan language; Asante (Ashanti) and Akuapem, which are mutually understandable. There are about 9 million Twi speakers, mainly originating from the Ashanti Region and about a total of 17–18 million Ghanaians as either first or second languages. Akuapem Twi was the first Akan dialect to be used for Bible translation and became the prestige dialect as a result. The Southeastern people of Cote D'Ivoire also speak it.

Maka masakan mampu aku lupa
Pada kebaikan yang sifatnya sebegitu
Tak terbeli walau digadai dunia seisinya
Tak tertebus meski sampai hujung waktu
Kerana itu aku menjual janji
Selalu aku berdoa semoga sentiasa dipelihara Ilahi

I AM YOURS AND YOU ARE MINE
On the journey of a thousand miles
What keeps me going are your thoughts
My heart is very fond of you
Told me its difficult to live without you
Together we built blocks of compassion above the sky
Painted the world with the colour of your smile
The night became homely and bright
My dreams came to stay hence forth that night
Love, they say its dispensable
But love is the reason the world is beautiful
Why the sun and moon is alive, and the stars
For I could see them through your eyes
If the frame in my heart get broken into a million pieces
Each will carry but treasurable memories
Of all the moment's spent with you
For life would be meaningless without you

Let's opinion be different so there is story
I do not like to air criticism
I just only like to ask
And the question itself will be criticism
Criticism on people who were asked
If to ask would be more prudent
Criticism is quite violent
I am so afraid of violence
I have to use the technique
Technique to ask with its critique
And that is certainly more painful
Like a snake that run along quiet
But the extract of poison is very painful
I also laughed when criticism aired among
True indeed…
Translation...
PENDAPAT BIAR BERBEZA
Oleh Neldy Jolo
Biarkan pendapat itu berbeza jadi ada cerita
Aku tidak suka berkritik
Aku suka sahaja betanya
Dan pertanyaan itu sendiri akan jadi kritikan
Kritikan pada orang yang ditanya
Kalau bertanya akan lebih berhemah
Mengkritik itu agak keras
Aku sangat takut kekerasan
Aku kena menggunakan teknik
Teknik bertanya dengan kritikan bersamanya
Dan yang pastinya itu lebih pedih
Ibarat ular yang menyusur tenang
Tetapi bisanya sangat pedih
Aku juga tertawa bila berkritikan sesama
Benar belaka…

Ballad
Dear Mr. moon up the sky
How I wonder how you are
Around the stars you always smile
And gave hope to the night
How do you do Mr. moon
Can we be best of friends, me and you?
I am so eager someday to meet you
To have little stars of my own too
Before I go to bed Mr. moon
I have sent a post card of my wishes to you
A hug for my parents, friends at home and school
For all their dreams to come true

I BELIEVE
We are all aware the world is changing
Life will never be the same again
The world is contagious
Humankind is futile
Everywhere I walk, hope is deserted
Like falling stars, dreams are dying
The virus is threatening human existence
Insecurity embraced into our homes
It is a huge difference between life and death
Wish I could press play for the world to reset
Diseases would not steal our hope away
Tears will not reside in our land
You may not notice it yet
However, God designed the world to be distinct
If but man is remorseful and repent his ways
The plague will be purged

(18/09/2011)
Love is identical with couples
Paper spread its space when the pen needs to settle a scribble
When the dust get bored, wind will show-up and blow
When the sun is stressed, rain will come as thunders brattle
When fire is too emotional, ash reminds him to set low
Can they get along forever?
When the paper full filled, pen will leave it
When it’s blown, wind will forget where the dust thrown
After refreshed, the sun will shoo, rain is harassed
When the ash takes control, spots of fire in black dust merely crawl

Pasangan
Cinta identik dengan pasangan
Saat pena tertoreh, kertas membantunya
Saat debu sedang bosan, angin meniupnya
Saat matahari kelelahan, hujan menggantikanya
Saat api terlalu emosi, abu memperingatkannya
Namun mampukah mereka selalu berdampingan?

CANDIDATE
that's my wife's business,
he will make it for you, not tomato sauce but grated coconut sauce which is fried without oil wrapped in banana leaves like pepes.
It is wonderful for a tongue that is saliva due to the rash of the savory aroma of coconut and banana leaves and kaffir lime leaves and the scent of garlic and the sharpness of chillies.
"Besides your house, near the sapodilla tree," replied Mas Sorjan when Selo proposed that his place was near the goat's cage.
"Yes, it can be an appetizer, when Selo says while lifting a bunch of bananas, baked until the skin is charred it will be really tasty."
I fell in love with Karsita
He is not a virgin
I do not care
He was frustrated by his disbelief
I do not care
He cares
Today, he herded ravines and ravines
Splitting the sun into three parts
Mix all kinds of recipes.
Your tongue will be messed up
What should I do?
What do you need?
Is not a wife?
Is it not the head of the treasury?
What about tongue-breaking?
Like the chaos of a trapped person like the messed up President
(in indonesia)
CALON
“Disamping rumahmu saja, dekat pohon sawo kecik.”
Membelah matahari menjadi tiga bagian
Mencampur segala macam resep masakan.
Lidahmu akan dibuat kacau
Aku harus bagaimana?
Apa yang kamu butuhkan?
Apakah bukan seorang istri?
Apakah bukan kepala perbendaharaan?
Bagaimana dengan pengacau lidah?
Seperti kacaunya orang kesurupan seperti kacaunya Presiden yang belum jadi

Political Verse
Is the life you are living
Really worth remembering?
Day after day, same old dream
Playing lottery with hope to win
The size of the shoes you wear
Does not determine how life will fare
You have got to wear an attitude
Of a man desperately in need of water and food
Life does not count on what you have
She smacks you pretty hard
The moment you are reckless
Steals away your happiness
I never stopped believing in miracles
But in reality, a man is boss
When he takes bold decision collectively
To impact people positively
To determine life, if it is worth living
Depends on what you bring in
At the break of each precedent day
I have made it, can you boldly say

I can not keep records
Off all the sacrifices you have made
You never broke your promises
You never let go my hand
All the love I need
You have more than enough to give
I could never figure out how you did it
Not tired or weary of loving me
Sometimes when I am hurt, sad or crying
You had a way of taking away my pain
Through you, I knew there is heaven
No matter how bad a situation, you never complain
You keep giving away your heart
To people who keep tearing it apart
But I still do not understand
How it is easy for you to be happy despite all that
I brag too often about you mom
Like the stars, you beauty is divine
It is easy to love you back since I was born
You are a role model, I am proud to call you mom.

SWEET MOTHER
I stood by the window
As I watched the sunrise
Waiting for you to come home
For we all miss you
I find it difficult in my heart
To holdback, the tears shed a fortnight
I still feel your love afresh in my heart
It conserves me when the night is dark
I long to behold you, to clasp your hand
Walk with you every Sunday to church
Also the times we both went to the market
Oh, how I miss the sweet savor of your smile
I can not measure sacrificed made for the family
You always have the best intentions for me
I am sorry for my selfish attitude
Not getting used to a world without you
The significance of a loving mother
Is priceless, invariably at its face value
Wish I can turn back the hands of time
Show you how much you have impacted
My whole life wetin a short while
I have grown to be an upright man
Kept your words close to my heart
To live the right life

Every night I kiss you goodbye
You are always in my heart
I feel safe knowing you have my back
The feeling is so close
I only let my guard down
When you are by my side
Precious is the love I found in you
It is only made for two
I have never felt intimidated
If I would be good enough for you
Every moment that you smile
Chase my pains away
The stars intertwine with the cloud
The night sparks with tiny beams
And fell upon my dream
Overwhelmed my feelings ever since
