Best Administrators Poems
When Poetry Soup becomes infested with partisan rubbish,
It will be difficult for liberal, creative poets, like me to flourish
Who seek a safe place away from the maddening ignorance
Of those people who continually despise political difference
For those who are angry and want to say the nastiest things
Do you have any idea what hurt your insatiable blather brings?
For some who don’t consider me a red-blooded American patriot,
I fought for the U.S. of A. in uniform when you were still just a tot!
I would rather die on the altar of honor than continually be castigated
By followers of a “wannabe” dictator who every day prevaricated
And sought to drag our country down into the muck and mire
Continues, to this day, stoking his sycophants’ hatred with fire.
Selecting a political putdown of President Joseph Biden for Poem of the Day
Was surely inappropriate if Poetry Soup administrators wish to say
The site maintains neutrality when it comes to political discourse
It encouraged poets, in their remarks, to choose up sides, of course
Anger and vitriol hurled toward us who are of more left-leaning mind
Will likely now become commonplace for those who are not so inclined.
Frankly, I despise clicking on a poem I think will be worth reading
Only to find, instead, an anti-American tirade of invective leading
To put-downs against our president, the vice-president, and first lady
Half-truths and conspiracy theories that, for the most part, are shady
If you are unhappy with the free and fair election that turned out your man
Then, every chance you get, go vote and change the system, if you can!
Our country is not, I think we’d all agree, a perfect democracy
We have lots of problems and crises – that's plain to see, but,
We now have a leader who cares about doing what is right
A man, who in short-order, is ready, committed, and willing to fight.
I have travelled the world over, north and south, east and west
Freedom to flourish in America is head and shoulders above the rest!

Political Verse
"I love my teacher."
"I have a great teacher."
"My teacher is super."
"My teacher's so cool."
These words are music to a teacher's ears,
Exactly what parents and administrators want to hear.
Yet what do they mean? How are they earned?
Are they related to learning? Or are we unconcerned?
"My teacher gives us tons of extra recess every day."
"Mine lets us cheat on quizzes and not make us pay."
"My teacher accepts papers copied from the Internet."
"Mine goes to casinos at nights and places big-money bets!"
Back in the day, teachers were strict.
We got away with nothing; they knew all our tricks.
And the classroom was quieter than a night in Grant's tomb;
They really knew how to keep order in a room.
The homework was ample, not one or two samples,
And the next day we had to solve all her examples.
Her quizzes and tests required voluminous reading,
And woe to the poor student whom she caught cheating!
We truly hated our teachers; we hated their guts.
We threw darts at their pictures and that kind of stuff.
Yet later in life we could hold an intelligent conversation.
And write a clear report, full of fact-based innovation.
We could dissect a frog; comprehend the periodic table;
Parse a sentence, and make a speech about Hamlet or Cain and Abel.
So next time your kid tells you, "My teacher's so cool."
Ask next what he or she's learning in school!

A true poet knows
What is the pain of another poet!
Poem-writers don't understand the gravity.
They make a noise.

A Parody for Soupers based on the song, 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town.'
You better not shout
You better not sigh
You better not pout
I'm telling you why...
PS Admin is makin' the rounds
They are bound
to be making a list
and checkin' it twice
They're keepin' tabs on who's naughty and nice
They'll know when you cause trouble
Someone will pimp you out
They'll take action on the double (not)
Asking, "What is this all about?"
You better not bully
Or use a curse word
Cuz in Poetry Soup
You'll be labeled a turd
You better not be a troll
Cuz it's a crime
Harassment takes a toll
Even if it's done in rhyme
PS Admin wants poets to have a goal
To be nice to each other without blocking
If you do you may find a lump of coal
In the toe of your Christmas stocking
You better not fire your gun
Then your comment gets deleted
That's called a 'hit and run'
An offense that shouldn't be repeated
PS Admin always reads what you're typing
Sent from your IP address
So, you better stop all your griping
Or your account they will repossess
You better not be cruel and mean
Or you'll find yourself in a deep abyss
Kicked out for being a drama king or queen
Having PS Admin's butt to kiss
Every story has two sides
Sometimes they believe the wrong one
The one where the snide villain hides
After their dirty work has been done
They frown on those who harp on negativity
Team Poetry Soup finds it rather banal
For which some among us have a proclivity
In other words, to make it clear, Don't be a.n.a.l
You better not write of hate
It's best not to be accused
So if some of you can relate
It's better known as being abused
If guilty, you'll get nuttin' for Christmas
But if you insist on being bad
There'll be no POTD for you on Christmas
If you make PS Administrators mad
You don't have to worry about Santa Claus
Just don't make Team Poetry Soup frown
Or you'll get kicked out for breaking their laws
Cuz they have the power to shut you down

Daniel In the Lion’s Den
Daniel was one of three administrators
Who ruled over 120 satraps
Appointed by King Darius
Who agreed to important edicts
One of these edicts
Was a public decree
That no worship was possible
Unless to Darius on bended knee
So when Daniel was found
To pray three times per day
To his God in heaven
As a crime was portrayed
So reluctantly King Darius
Ordered Daniel to the lions’ den
But God sent an angel
To close the lions’ mouths again and again.
At the first light of dawn
The King called to Daniel in anguish
For he hadn’t slept all night
He feared that Daniel would perish
But when Daniel told him
“Not one lion has harmed me”
The King was overjoyed that Daniel’s God
Preserved Daniel to be set free.
Those who had falsely accused Daniel
Were thrown to the lions instead
The king and his subjects were ordered to worship
Daniel’s God as their head
What a mighty witness
To a pagan king
Daniel trusted his God
Through this trial he'd bring.

Electromagnetic spectrum, forgive us of our transgressive Trojans,
as we forgive those for sending viruses, malware and spam to us.
The configuration of inert wisdom begins with a point and click,
the encrypted biological commands are configured to obey.
Will the 30th century make everything automatic,
digital newspapers and magazines synced to the frequencies of the brain.
Will there be one president to rule the world,
who built rockets for interstellar travel so he or she can rule other worlds?
What if the IT administrators accounts were locked out,
three unsuccessful attempts and the last human administrator loses their job.
In the year 3030 will biological intellectuals be forced underground,
after being banned for using technology that eliminates hunger and poverty.
Electromagnetic spectrum, give us this day, our daily dose of technology,
so that we may spread your technical marvels and technological morphing wonders. Children are born with cameras and video recorders embedded into their nervous systems, every crime or premeditated sin will be captured and transmitted to the sin police for processing and appropriate disciplinary measures.
Our eyes will shine bright with technology,
nanotechnicals releasing feel good chemicals during awkward or hostile situations.
Electromagnetic spectrum, lead us not into the future, but deliver us from the future.
Amen.

If you like adventure you will like Match.com,
But many of them you won’t want to take home to meet your Mom.
Each guy you see is a brand new slate.
It's like an interview, looking for a potential soulmate.
Some dates have a good sense of humor and seem great,
Then some on the first date have been real cheapskates!
I’ve had some dates that I could not wait to leave,
As they whined about their ex, wearing their heart on their sleeve.
One professor met me on the first date with roses, and was so sweet.
But I discovered he had a love for his drink, and I couldn’t compete.
There have been school administrators, men in business, and sales,
Some that seem very easy-going, and some as tough as nails.
One of the most interesting by far was a farmer…
Living a country life with his animals, he was a real charmer.
There are many shysters on match too, pretending to be single,
But married… and just looking to intermingle.
There are those that are looking for money that are crooks,
That will wine you and dine you with their good looks.
To protect yourself, get a background report before you date,
Then you don’t have to wonder if you will meet an inauspicious fate.

In the history of first ladies
I never envisioned the strength and power of women that carried a torch of greatness for which they stood.
From Eleanor Roosevelt to Jackie Kennedy…just to name a few… were the embodiment of beauty, knowledge, class, and pure sophistication…. the main denominators in constructing the reins and heart of sisterhood.
For
This is a pool of women who are classified as educators, administrators and negotiators who opened the doors and paved a way in setting the stage to a range of accomplishments that are now the stepping stones of the common good.
And as time went by
The torch was passed down to another woman of caliber…
A woman who
Found her mate and transformed herself into a mother
Our first lady; the epitome of a leader and scholar;
A true Victorian of woman’s empowerment;
The trendsetter of new beginnings …
A go getter and heavy hitter…all awhile continuing to be a woman that’s still down to earth… and yet, still found the time to implant morals and values of a woman’s worth… to the new generation and all that this brings.
Thus her wings continued to spread!
Comma, comma, comma…
For
This treasure of grace is best known as the worlds
Phenomenon and First Lady… Michelle Obama…. Our American Torch
THE END…

Variations on a Punishing Theme
When people are hungry and at risk of homelessness
despair
chronic depression
and climatic extinction
Is it because their leaders
and community developers,
learning incubators
and technical assistance providers,
grantors and lenders,
representatives
and public sector service providers
absorb too many investments and nutrients
for their own mouths and mortgages?
sleeping soundly at night
unaware of how their Continuous Quality Improvement intentions
economically and ecologically miss their mark
of solidarity and mutual subsidiarity,
of recreating the comfort and nutrients
they intended to invest in those with greater need.
Perhaps the self-blaming unruliness of hungry homeless people
Is due to oversight interference of well-intended practitioners
expert administrators
senior consultants
expertly dominating fragile margins of poverty
feeding dissonant anger and fear
and mistrust.
Chronically at-risk species fear living death's dissonance
and entropic non-thrival trends,
Because we are anxious to survive,
to build life; not so much death and perpetual advent.
Wilting personal lives
have no bandwidth left
for righting macrosystemic death trends.
It is mutual-mentors who co-invest in cooperative thriving,
That incarnate wise evolution of deep ecologically balancing lives.
Self-composting toilets
have surprisingly greater nurturing value
to people without a pot to pee in
than community-composting banks
and governments.

They're truly dumbfounded as to why hordes of parents are pissed.
That their children are being labelled inherently racist.
or perpetually oppressed...
When all children want to do is share a square of sand
(no regard to the color of skin).
They're truly clueless as to why hordes of parents are pissed.
That they're children are being drilled with complicated topics of sex
When they don't even know how to spell or do simple math.
They're truly dumbfounded as to why hordes of parents are fighting back.
Against "teachers" and administrators who want to shove innocence down their dark rabbit hole of hormonal tinkering, genital mutilation and moral oblivion.
Let them grasp what a noun is before tossing funhouse pronouns at them.
let them walk a rainbow instead of constantly being slapped in the soul with a barbed version of it.
In short let them just be children...
Fill their heads with the blossoms of literacy, kindness and respect.
Don't fill their hearts with the ball bearings of every societal tremor.
I'm dumbfounded as to why they fancy to call good-attentive parenting an act of terrorism.

The Modern Ozymandias
The Shelley poem adapted by Elton Camp
There was a stadium at Pennsylvania State
Where two strong and trunkless legs now stand
Near them, on the ground, a fallen visage lies
Wrinkled brow and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which survive, stamped on these lifeless things
The beady eyes that ever looked the other way
And on the pedestal these words appear:
My name is Joe Paterno, the coach of coaches
Look on my works ye administrators and despair
Nothing of that colossal wreck now remains
The integrity of a university forever damaged

Why do rich kids grow up thinking they can change the whole world
It's inconceivable, dishonest -- not to mention stupid, absurd
They rarely, if ever, change their parents' or siblings' opinions
No to mention their school-teachers' and administrators' decisions
Confront 'em with the Truth: It's hard work, so up and at 'em
And you'll probably have to start way down at the bottom
But that's not appealing to rebels with 'global community' dreams
So they protest for 'equity,' go to jail, get out and imbibe lotsa James Beam
