Where Beavers and Bullfrogs are Kings

In the pond, where beavers and bullfrogs are kings,
a duck has webbed feet and wings and things.
He quacks aloud instead of sings -
on his face, a useful tool...called a bill. He ain't no fool.   
When he blows that thing, he really swings,
in the pond, where beavers and bullfrogs are kings.

Disbelieving Beavers

That photo must be photoshopped said quite a few in a snippy way.
But I knew better, for I had observed the Big Dipper myself that day.
It is what I saw in the sky myself, I told the doubting misbelievers.
They still did not believe it, that’s why I call them beavers.

Dam Beavers

in a morning swim the beaver made his route
out early and then had a breakfast to boot
after which he worked on his abode 
by floating logs to help ease the load

tree by tree he fell them just so
they would end up all  in a row
worked long hours all by himself 
was in top shape

Long ago, in an estuary formed by the erosion of a fjord,
There sat a piano made of petrified wood with ivy cords.

It was created by a council of beavers, which governed the waters,
Who used local flora and stones to build it, with help from the otters.

For these marine rodents had once heard a human strum

If turkeys could talk
Or elephants could squawk
What a very strange world this would be
If ants could dance
Or beavers wore pants
And hamburgers grew on trees

If bumble bees wheezed
Fleas walked on their knees
What a strange way of looking at things
False teeth on a gator
A polka dot tater
And cabbage with tiny green wings
