lazy lips in tangle with A I
breathing secrets
I wonder why
why not
organize your thoughts, o scatterbrain
don’t be
a brain full of hay
eventual outcome -
the crows will pick your brain
s$it for brains
forgive my insane outburst
but the storm’s a-coming
a storm of flying monkeys
a witch to boot
the only way to beat the rap
is to hammer home
don’t
you ain’t fool’n no one
you’re a fool yourself
the witch has turned over
the hourglass
none of Dorothy’s friends
are clamouring to save you
they are not in pieces
but at rest
they’re courage
came when doing the right thing
jumping through glass, falling asleep
the witch had fear and poison on her side
but Dorothy was good and kind
she scolded the wrong, bucketed the witch
exposed the lie behind the curtain
then the runaway went back home
home sweet home
where the poet’s heart
brains and courage
reside
Turning Tricks
Under the street light,
clothes clinging skin tight,
stuffing a war of dollar-bills
beneath her shirt.
Waves when you pass by,
smiles when she cries,
“Man do you want some
company for an hour.”
Not afraid of getting caught,
case she knows she can beat the rap.
Makes a good man scream and swear
when she lays her head in your lap.
Unashamed, she’s in control,
she’ll take you for a wild ride.
Makes you think you’re seeing God,
awakens something deep inside.
A smile when she’s done,
makes you pay for fun,
puts on a show that you
Just want to see again.
Slowly she walks off,
leaves you feeling shot,
but it’s the kind of tired
that you know you love.
You walk home flying on air,
thinking of what you’ve just scored.
Never mind the right or wrong,
you just know that you want some more.
Undeterred you’re planning to
get hands back on her body tight.
So caught up that you never know
Her pimp beats her to death that night.
Oh…
If your child was murdered by the owner of your local grocery store
and the owner beat the rap,
would you continue purchasing products from that store anymore?
The Bush's murdered thousands on 9/11
and every time you fuel your car you continue to support them.
I'm only one man. I can't do anything
except to never ever use or fuel my car again,
and I haven't done so since 9/11.
If only all of my country did like me.
America would return to how it use to be,
but most aren't concerned about saving lives or liberties.
They'd rather live complacently comfortably.
