Premium Member Mantis, the Celestial Madonna

This one is not the insect of the garden,
But the Grand mistress of the Priests of Pama,
Raised in the shadow of a Vietnamese temple
To become the pinnacle of a human soul.
She refers to herself as a shadow, a distant third,
"This one" moves with a grace that humbles gods,
Finding the pressure points of the Thunderer,
Felling Thor with a single, practiced strike to the nerve.
Her green skin is the mark of a cosmic union,
A spirit merged with the telepathic Cotati,
The sentient wood and plant-mind of the stars.
She is the bride of a legend’s hollow shell,
Marrying the spirit within the Swordsman’s body
Beneath the watchful eyes of Earth’s Mightiest.
A mother to the Messiah of the leaves,
She is a fragmented consciousness,
Scattered across the universe like seeds,
Representing the freak, the mystic, and the Avenger.
She does not merely feel the wind;
She senses the empathic vibrations of the biosphere.
A predator of fate who saw the coming of Thanos,
Mantis stands as a jagged saint in the cosmic cathedral,
The mother of everything that will one day grow.

The world of super heroes is vast
however, the Avengers are the best
They are an amazing team
with Iron Man and his powerful beam
and Spider man with his sticky webs
and Captain America and Hulk with their powerful Jabs
There is Dr Strange with his magic
and Hawkeye whose aim is tragic
Black Widow and War Machine add their firepower
to the amazing team of ultimate power

Heroes assemble

The world was quiet at first,
just another ordinary day
until the sky cracked open
with the sound of thunder
and danger stepped onto the streets.
From the clouds came a god of storms,
his hammer calling lightning to his hand.
A man of iron cut through the air like fire,
while a soldier with an unbreakable shield
stood ready to defend the weak.
Then the ground began to tremble
not from fear, but from power.
A giant of emerald rage rose like a mountain,
while silent fighters moved in the shadows,
swift as arrows, sharp as justice.
Different powers.
Different stories.
But when darkness grows too strong for one hero
they stand side by side,
and the world remembers their name:
The Avengers.

The Marvel Universe is well loved by our dear Robert.
Heroes with great super powers, they
Emerged in 60’s comic books and are here to stay.

Ant-man, Iron man, the Wasp, Hulk, and Thor
Vanquished earth’s enemies. Then came more,
Expanding the roster of heroes, then going cinematic.
New ones appeared, with powers most dramatic.
Gone mostly are a few now from the MCU.
Evermore they live on in minds of their fans so true.
Robert has six omnibuses of them in his possession.
Six thousand pages he’ll read. That’s a big obsession!

Legend of the avengers

In winds of battle and flashes of steel,
Heroes march on with unbreakable will.
Each step echoes courage across the sky,
Each blow drives the rising darkness awry.

When Earth itself trembles before the war,
They rise once again as guardians once more.
No endless night, no chaos above,
Can conquer their promise, their strength, their love.

For as long as hope burns bright in the heart,
The Avengers’ legend will never depart.

When the avengers rise

When shadows swallow the sky of Earth,
A cry resounds like a call to rebirth.
Heroes awaken with blazing light,
Restoring hope in the heart of the fight.

A genius of iron splits darkened skies,
The thunder god’s hammer in fury replies.
A star-spangled shield stands firm in the storm,
While a green titan shatters the tyrant’s form.

Against the chaos that sought to divide,
The Avengers swear: hope will survive.

Tony rouses, his circuits buzzing,
the taste of copper lingering in his mouth.
A battlefield stretches behind his eyelids—
always the same one.

Natasha counts her scars like rosary beads,
each one a prayer she never spoke aloud.
The red in her ledger has faded to rust,
but the weight remains.

Steve stands at the window,
his reflection a stranger from 1943.
The shield leans against the wall,
waiting for hands that feel too old.

Thor’s laughter shakes the rafters,
but the lightning in his eyes dims
when no one’s looking.
Asgard is a ghost in his voice.

Bruce folds his rage into origami cranes,
tiny and precise.
The other guy watches from the shadows,
quiet for now.

They gather where the sky is bruised with twilight,
a fractured constellation.
Although the earth keeps revolving,
we humans applaud their brave enterprise.

Avengers… I read on:

Captain America
Iron Man
Thor
Wasp
Hulk
Ant-man/yellow jacket
Vision
Swords man
Mantis
Hellcat
Beast
Hawkeye
Scarlet Witch

They fight and they have Captain America’s ideals: duty, courage, justice and liberty.

I have their six Avengers omnibuses on my kitchen table. I will read till I’m all done; 6,000 pages.

To life and to a story well written and drawn; peace.

Invisible

Ah to fly
Like Superman
And save the day once more
Or X-Ray rescue captives
As I laser-melt the door

Perhaps I climb
Tall towers
And swing without a care
Between the skyline scrapers
Catching villains in a snare

Or my muscles flex
In latex
City restoration is the goal;
As I zoom around in vehicles like
Some dark knight of the soul

A metal suit
Protects me
While my heart burns like the sun
With my cape-less banter shielding
Vulnerabilities, every one

The years behind have taught me..
That heroic can be small
No need to spin the planet
Or smash right through the wall

Instead, it is in wisdom;
The timeless gentle start
Of the smile that lights the shadows
On the dark side
Of a heart

No need to be invisible
Why not let your shadow fall
On the desperate, lonely stranger
We start with one
And save them all.
