a newspaper the guardian

A Newspaper

Once upon a time, the Guardian was a famous newspaper
it was democratic, to a certain extent, and readers are
invited to give their view, but with moderation and niceness
If not, they would politely ban the regressor
When the paper was famous, it was a bit left-wing, but always ready to see the other point of view
It was pro-Israel, defending Palestinian artists' rights
while overlooking as long as possible, the utter brutality
of Israeli politics against, say, Palestinians
The fact that the Guardian has been able to change is its
ability to alter its stands, yet holding to their journalistic
who are not left-wing, except for some of them who
Thanks to nature and time, they have wings.
Today, the Guardian is no longer a newspaper; it is more
like a color magazine dedicated to true sex stories shies
not away from lesbianism and what we now call gayness
It caters to a younger middle class, employed in, I think
show business, or the media, with titles like TV analyst
Or a researcher of AI, who will one day make all of them
out of work
When I get up in the morning, I drink a cup of coffee and
For entertainment, read the Guardian

Premium MemberNew year declaration

We were on our own
Minding our business

Weighed down by crushing unemployment
Thoroughly disillusioned by the art of promise and fail

We were disoriented by the perennial lie
Of being leaders of tomorrow

While we watched the promised future
Dissipate before our very eyes

Stolen by evil forces that have held the country
Down since after the flag independence

We were still minding our business
With dignified silence

As SARS kept on decimating our numbers
At any slightest provocation

Profiling us with ease as fraudsters
Defining us by how we looked

Instead of whom we really were
And we came out to protest this injustice

But we were brutally repressed
And ran for our dear lives

An election came in 2023
And we believed that with our numbers

We could take back our country
From the precipice of the devil and the deep blue sea

But we were brutally brought down to earth
By forces of calamity

However we remain undaunted
The forces of evil might seem to be winning

But we the youth will bring their blighted era
To a dismal end and that is our declaration!

Life happens people come, and go, Some are self absorbed, also people are plain out of touch.. Life happens

Criticism, Fears, Insecurities, Don't take it personally. Life happens

Obstacles often may hinder one's journey yet don't lose
one's self-worth, Keep uplifting yourself without anyone's
approval. Life happens

Riding the waves we all experience in this life even if you
must stand alone. Life happens

Familiar faces often cast one's doubts to shatter one's
dreams with negative feedback. Life happens

Lessons oftentimes are part of the process, divine timing
is one's faith don't give up. Life happens

Remain balanced like the scales, follow one's passions
And dreams, Let self appaulse come from within. Life

a small bank

A small bank

When I visit my bank, which is a small rural one
the bank lady who warns me not to overspend
and my wife meets I go for a coffee across
the road, they are both from Congo and have
 a lot to talk about
The business in the bank is done, forenoon
the prize of pig feed and grain harvest, and so on
When I am alone, I like to come early
and enjoy the concerned people with no dramatic political
meaning other than survival
the real people's experience  that contextualized
not democratic  that those who invest in
the future, should it arrive, be the beneficiary
that income should be distributed according to
input, it is not about equity
At the same time, my fellow investors do send
money to help Gaza because they read
the local  newspaper that is biased toward Israel
My mother thought a Jew was someone in a fur hat
 selling stuff from his cart.

Naughty Children

Naughty Children

Naughty children pick their nose's
And smear their clothes
Playful and mischievous
They belong to Jesus

Naughty kids are fast kids
They catch butterflies
With big smiles they show you
How quick their fingers are

Naughty children jolly play
Even in the cold
They don't get distressed
They chew yummy gum

Naughty kids climb
Are always up and down
With a lot of smile about
Laughing happily when they fall.

Naughty kids like
Movies and toast
Do not disturb
On their full stomachs.

Naughty kids kick
Everything broken
They run away
With fast legs soon.

Naughty children show
You how to forgive
With their wet cheeks
After you shame their bottom.

Naughty kids share
Anything together
And raise to adults
They cutely greet.

Haughty children
Are the brats rude
Who count teeth and
Mind the business of adults.

when a whore house was fun

When a whore house was fun

I sat down to write about flowers, those often
called weeds and grows on untended pavements
but another thought got in the way as I recalled
that flowers in a whore house are usually plastic
except for a chrysanthemum on
a painting on a wall of an artistic whore
I have had much fun in houses of ill-repute
it is not only sex but also laughter  and dance
The girls liked young  sailors and the possibility
of a steady relationship.
It did happen to a sailor coming home from Brazil
with a blushing bride, no need to tell how
they had met
Time has changed, women are victims of men's
sexual demands and places where many victims
operate from have been closed down
Just as well, women in this trade are sex workers
and if not treated rightly, can take a customer
to court, or try a little blackmail
Whoring was more moral before you paid and
had a laughter, not hard-headed business
as the line of work has become

interrupted dream

An interrupted dream

This morning, I'm happy
with a hint of nostalgia
over love won and lost
I'm drunk  too
It takes days to get sober
Today, I shall not walk
on the side of the righteous
Wind in my sail
a clipper crossing the
pacific
buying tea for the woman
I loved in Liverpool
Sorry I left you, have
unfinished business
In Brazil
big eyes and rosa lips
In Guatemala, by chance
dusky the night
the moon was full
as always
it is easy to go astray
by physical love
intense the pleasure
I have not forgotten
my many promises
just one day more
before I sail to other shores

ongoing war

Ongoing war

A not tall, a rather pudgy little man
who is an absolute ruler over his twenty million-something inhabitants
Got visited by another powerful man, who is slim
but not tall like his diplomat
the fat man was happy, had his country turning out
waving flags, their dance and jubilation
photo taken, fraternity and contracts signed
For the absolute ruler, who had his brother killed
to be sure of his power, it was a great opportunity
to take, not so tall man, around looking at things
the visitor had won a war and was in high spirits, smiled
patted his strands of hair and asked himself
since his host harvests hair as a big business, should he ask for a discreet rug?
He decided not to ask, his face is so well known
that jokers in the foreign press would make jokes
make him look vain
He did the masculine thing, buying artillery shells
instead, not that he needs a lot to know
but one never knows what hysteric people can do
those who cannot accept defeat.

Europe

Europe

is in meltdown, high-interest rates
and expensive petrol and electricity
combined to impoverish countries after
country which threatens
Europe put their eggs in one basket
and became ruled by the USA
In Portugal, we see the dramatic rise
of "Chega" an anti-immigration party
that came from nowhere and won
third place in the election
people are fearing for their futures
and turning right
the disaster began with the bombing
of North stream two, an American
terror act helped by the US acolyte
the Norwegian Navy.
Norway has a lot of gas and oil, but she
is not master of her house, American
oil business still dictates
As for Britain, she is a basket case with
a foreign minister who talks like Britain
is a superpower it was in 1903
I fear Europe has had its time for China
and the Bricks countries are the new
masters
Europe will become a quaint place
for people of the East can visit to see
who how the dwellers used to live
so, not all is lost, the tourist industry
can employ servants and cooks

Profit

There are people who profit, from weapons that kill, and others with narcotics, that sell at will.

There are people who steal and lie, and others bully innocents without batting an eye.

There are people in positions of high esteem, making millions off those who struggle, working a daily routine.

Power and greed, breed social dismay,
which society accepts, for it is dictated that way.

A donation or two gains a welcoming applause,
that appears to be given for a meaningful cause.

Don’t be fooled, for it is a calculated game,
for tax-free reasons being easy to claim.

Our world is warning, us to change our ways.
in all humanity, that the above, portrays.

Ember of Love

The Ember of Love

As he was walking along the busy shopping street an old woman, came toward him
He knew her but hadn't seen her for many years
once upon a time, he had loved her very much
they both stopped; she remembered him and forthright, as she always was, told him he looked old
She was old also but refrained from telling her
Their hair was white and brittle, and her prominent nose had dropped, giving her a look like a witch.
They hugged, and he told her she looked great!
Behind the thick-rimmed glasses she wore, he saw
a glimmer of her lost beauty.
After some more pleasantries, they parted.
Before turning the corner of the street, he turned around, didn't see her, and knew he would never see her again.

Premium MemberOn Bullying

Jesus did teach us to turn the other cheek,
But never suggested we ought to be weak
In those instances of obvious wrongdoing
He sent the moneychangers gelt strewing,
And he called out the miserable hypocrite
In the strongest of language, as he saw fit.

Keeping the peace is good, I certainly agree,
But not at the expense of a bully’s spree,
Who goes about inflicting pain unchecked,
Comes the time when they must be decked.
For bullying indicates feelings of superiority
While it actually cloaks an inner inferiority.

We need to show bullies they’re not “all that,”
Sometimes it calls for knocking off their hat.
Letting them know we will be calling their bluff
When we are fed up with their hateful stuff,
Not allowing them to feign self-righteousness
As they hurtfully nose into another’s business.

It is always preferable to be meek and mild
But not when an adult acts like a spoiled child
Taking pleasure in causing others’ distresses
Probably struggling with their own sad messes
And acting like their way is the only way
While refusing to allow their victims a say!

Premium MemberA Mask and Cloak

Who actually put you in charge
Of telling others what they should do
In your passive aggressive manner
When others don’t share your view

It’s all light hearted fun you profess
Though that is not the case
It’s about you feeling superior
Putting others in their place

You speak about anti bullying
Which is really quite the joke
As you yourself are a bully
Behind a mask and cloak

You have your band of merry men
Who are of the same mentality
Who come out from the wood work
To form your gang of bullies

You are a wolf in sheeps clothing
If I see it ….I’m sure others do
Just mind your own business
“That is my point of view”!!

Premium MemberThe Ladies Circle

Some folks spend more'n half their life discussing others business.
The way they talk and carry on can really shock the senses.
It seems sometimes they know much more 'bout certain folks than they do.
They don't care 'bout who gets hurt because, you see, it's all true.

They huddle 'round their tea and cakes discussing all and sundry.
No one's safe from their critique, they'll air you're dirty laundry.
Ofcourse they're sure to let you know that they don't just spread gossip,
And if by chance such word gets out you're duty bound to stop it.

Why they would never meddle 'round just spurring fabrication.
The very thought they'd stoop so low is quite beneath their station.
Just cut it short right here and now and see it goes no further.
Just keep it here between we two, and just a few close others.
