The save vanishing species USPS stamp -
featuring an Amur tiger cub graphic
-----------------------------------------------
Hillborn river, gentle Amur flows east
Embracing enroute a score of besties
Enriching diverse lives, some so unique
She sways towards the ocean Pacific
Warm orange bright Siberian tigers
Left in cold, threatened, dispossessed drifters
Settle along serene flowing Amur
Takes her name, huddle along her, survive
Sad eyes with Blake's immortal symmetry
An Amur cub stamped on clear envelope
Stares at cruel human eyes with pity
Asks for mercy, for marked territory

Amur Tigers are listed as, endangered
They are found in Primorski and Khabarorisk, far east Russia
and they pound the forests, of the Amur-Heilong landscape
and are the largest of all tigers, but their territory is not in shipshape
Amur Tigers forests, are been destroyed by human greed
and all Tigers have lost an estimated 95%, of their historical range
Human overpopulation, has made many wildlife populations bleed
so we need to stop breeding and greeding, and produce a total change

Amur Leopards are listed as, critically endangered
They are a rare subspecies, living in nature’s extremities
in the Amur-Heilong mountains, with a Russian landlord
and their genetic variation, is the lowest of any subspecies
They can survive in temperate forests and mountain regions
keeping south of facing rocky slopes, to avoid too much snow
but they can’t avoid the conflict, off the human foundations
having to enter the human domain, to find food and grow
Amur leopards are poached, for its beautiful spotted fur
and their territory is surrounded, by villages and agriculture
The villagers hunt their pray, but their prey is in defer
as the greed of money, is now a human culture
Amur Leopards can only live, ten to fifteen years in the wild
and 25 years in captivity, which only makes them riled
Let’s give back their territory, to increase their mentors
and advance their history, for these amazing carnivores

Will the human race actually feel triumphant
with the extinction of our African elephant,
why don’t humans believe it’s preposterous
that Earth only homes two hundred Rhinoceros,
I being a human feel that I’m a total rotter
contributing to the demise of our giant otter,
do humans think land only belongs to man
creating inevitable extinction of Bornean orangutan,
shouldn’t wildlife be like sheep is to a shepherd
not to oversee the inevitable loss of Amur Leopard,
why do we rejoice, eager to explain our merits
hurrah saved from extinction the black footed ferrets,
we can always tell our children a fascinating tale
about the time we saw on Earth an amazing Whale,
explain what’s that human like creature when they see
a film or video of what was once a chimpanzee,
perhaps if we could stop killing ourselves and animals
then our planet will not seem such a desperate shambles.

Oh, master of heaven on four legs have we walked too long
let me upright walk said Amur the tiger, a man I would wish to be
“Amur” said the lord remain in the cave hungry and arise a man
The bear, who was his friend, stayed with Amur, the tiger in hunger
in a cave and as the Lord declared the bear for her discipline became a woman
Amur the tiger left to hunt, ate, and still slinks through the mountains.
Amur distraught stalks the woods in an endless hunt for food
man upright and small may only kill or bow to the tiger strength and pray
together man, woman and tiger may yet save the world.
*Above I have briefly told you of two of Korean creation myths.
The TIGER is at the center of Korean Culture, they have the
largest tigers in the world in North Korea now, and they are
coming back from near extinction.

Endangered species are around the world
Narcissus Bugei bulbous plant of Spain
Dabry's Sturgeon mostly now a dreamworld
Amur Leopard, Russian thirty-five remain
Nava's Wren from Mexico lost domain
Gorillas, by intense poaching
Eurasian Lynx saved by reintroducing
River Dolphins hurt from habitat loss
East African Highland Shrew disappearing
Dwarf Olive Ibis, will always engross?
In honor of Dr. Ram's contest..
