Amalgamations Poems | Examples

Redemption

I long for your touch
Desire warm places
to melt on hot faces
so that poems befall
these lips like cascading gifts,
the way kind words lift
and cause zippers to
unzip
Cliched phrases: Surprises,
and amalgamations
followed by
 you look amazing,
Your response adequate
for all the times you
held back
anticipating
 honeymoon nights
twenty years down the line.
A man could unlock
the secrets of who he is,
coaxing those trapped
feelings you yearn to give
Release and I'll reveal
a soul shaking experience
that causes spirits
to succumb
 to body saving experiences
Please be a good Christian
sin then forgive
               me.

Rebuilding From Within

Since the beggining of my journey people always been pushing ignorant views on me,
The evidence is always lacking but still insisting its the way it has to be,
Spend my time escaping to build a mind palace,
Whilst stumbling through this crazy world like Alice,
Everything I learn is like a new brick,
but piecing them together is the real trick as the evils of the world begin to stick,
Meditating on my throne channeling peace and serenity,
Attempting to make some sense of the black, white and grey with clarity,
but my inner sanctuary from the outside becomes corrupted,
Finally time this place was deconstructed,
As you cannot build a structure on broken foundations,
I take my best bricks and work amalgamations,
In my new palace there be holes where once was black,
This time I'll keep it clean and make sure they never come back,
I need to gather better bricks to rebuild my mind,
with new adventures and new experiences is the only way I will find
The only way to start again is to sift through all of the rubble,
If I fail in this then again there will be trouble,
And when the negatives of my mind attempt to seep in,
I'll be meditating in my palace protected from sin.

Promise (2003)

What to say, what to write, mere words have I
Amalgamations of some syllables, just sounds in ink
These alone my repertoire; how can I
Endeavour to spell the raging flames I think..?

Chaos, pandemonium, utter confusion reigns
In the mind, as on the battlefield
Thoughts hurtle through and can't be tamed
I want to fight myself and not to yield.

I want to stand my ground, to assert myself
Not bend like the grass with each slight touch of breeze
I want to be myself, not some mere toy
which time, at its own fancy, may choose to tease.

To stand the breath of fire and not to shirk
From stepping on with courage, where I must
To meet the world headlong, not let Time smirk
At my defeats; nor let cracks in my crust.

All this, and more I seek
All this of myself, I ask
When the going gets tough, I want
To hide behind no mask.

If raging storms threaten me today
Pay heed, I shall not fear
But, trusting God, shall march ahead
Radiating cheer!

Yuppie Dragons and Paper Mountains

Climb mountains!
Slay Dragons!
That's what I did
When I was a kid
Now it's too much
All this grownup stuff
Amalgamations
Corporations
Business-like murder
          under the guise of merger
Micro-second chattel battles
          waged on computer panels
Flash before my eyes
In a plate glass high-rise

Now

all my mountains are made of paper, and
all my dragons wear ties
