Spirit alerts the dogs first
They have senses humans cannot name
In tune with the intruding entity, they cannot stop barking
What is it? Asks my husband
Ghosts, I say
How do you know?
Can you see anything?
No.
That’s how I know.

The people I care enough about
to keep tabs on them
I try and talk to you
and I don't know what happens
It's like we don't
tell each other anything anymore
I know that's not true
It's just different
I miss talking to you
I miss my friend
You're always on the run
and I guess I have to accept that
I miss the past
but I guess life just passes me by
I'm scared
you're changing
what can I do
nothing
All I can do is hold on
to you
What can I say
We know the same things
I'm grateful
that I have you
This year has been good
because you were there
I write so many poems
saying how I feel
I wish I was just able to say it
and not be afraid
