Beach of Bliss

Sultry summer night;
stars are winking at the moon.
As I gaze at you,
ocean’s tide rolls in. . . . We kiss.
Stars now wink at us! What bliss.

       It was a hot day
Anne brought her dog to the beach
        So both could cool off
         Both went into the water
          They did not falter

Beach Park Tanka

Blue ocean vistas
Rainforest encroaches down
Tree roots over stone
Vines reach, wind, twine and climb
Clutching trees that cradle them

Burleigh Heads beach path
Pandanus groves, mangroves
Strange variety
Spiky bushes, towering trees
Tiny flowers underfoot

Raggy paperbarks,
Log bridge, white sand, shallow creek
Invisible birds give song
Each day travel the same path
Only to find it diff’rent.

Soothing coolness

      As the tide flows in

           caressing the burning sand

                a soothing coolness

                      resounds around our footprints

                            left behind at waters edge

Sunday Drive

a long Sunday drive
south on a winding beach road
to find my poem
I listen for profound words
from a knowing wind and sea

Sea Glass

Sun-kissed sea glass,
formerly discarded trash,
illuminates the coastline,
sparkling like brilliant gemstones,

A Moment In Paradise

                                          colors of sunset
bathe our bodies as we kiss
                                         on tropical shores
                                     lover's paradise fleeting
my tears stain his wartime grave

Jaws in real life

Master of the sea
Smells blood from miles away
Swims with dominance
Sharp serrated teeth devours
Naive humans viciously

Sand between my toes Solitary walk on beach At one with ocean Shoes off, tights removed Perfect summer day, no cloud Quiet except waves. High tide runs for shore Bright pebbles, surf over feet Emancipation. Wet skirt around legs Vision embraced horizon Chimera moment.

Hawaiian sunsets -
my freckled legs wade through it
whiffs of a beach-fire
take me back to childhood days
close 'nough to warm, but not scorch

Beach Picnic

a seagull joins us
swooping down to snatch a chip
from sizzling sand--

Dad squeals like the birds as he
runs to cool feet in the surf

Beach Romance

Y-shaped cerise pant
Unfolds treasures of the flesh.
Love melts cerebrum

Fun edits sad soul
As gray sands turn paradise.
In laughter's ring tone
Endearment soaks the spirits
World is perfect in your arms.

Jealous Sea echoes your words
As poetry creeps from your soul
Sentry trees are not left out
They sway melodies.

A day on the beach

A secluded beach,
Splashing each other with love,
We claim as our own,
Peaceful, we fall asleep to
Warm sand singing lullabies

Sunscreen Within My Reach on the Beach

I love my sunshine. Summer sun rays feel so fine. I get a nice tan just from lying on the beach. I need sunscreen within reach.

You Still Surface Me

you still surface me
like a blue tide in the sand
 immersed in your touch-
like pebbles on the soft beach
engulf me with shores of thirst

On the Beach

           tide is moving out
and bleached seaweed is showing -

 having heard much about sharks

Sudden Love

Love is sensed in us
A warming sun tans our skins
Gazing hide feelings

Holding hands in the beach shore

Precipice o’er beach,
eyes cannot disguise the fear.
His wife saves seashells,
souvenirs for life or death.
She holds her breath, as he jumps.

feeling soulful and so free.

Rip Tide

In low tide I stand feeling the pull of the sea against my ankles. My saffron and oyster life passes before my own eyes.
