I stood behind the sun
and watched the world ignite.
I felt the pain inside my heart
as I saw the people burn.
I heard their screams
as they cried out in pain --
Their voices blended to one
as their bodies were consumed.
And as they turned to ash
my pain faded to numbness
and I forgot they ever existed.
